    Emergent Capabilities for Collaborative Teams in the Evolving Web Environment

    This paper reports on our investigation of the latest advances for the Social Web, Web 2.0 and the Linked Data Web. These advances are discussed in terms of the latest capabilities that are available (or being made available) on the Web at the time of writing this paper. Such capabilities can be of significant benefit to teams, especially those comprised of multinational, geographically-dispersed team members. The specific context of coalition members in a rapidly formed diverse military context such as disaster relief or humanitarian aid is considered, where close working between non-government organisations and non-military teams will help to achieve results as quickly and efficiently as possible. The heterogeneity one finds in such teams, coupled with a lack of dedicated private network infrastructure, poses a number of challenges for collaboration, and the current paper represents an attempt to assess whether nascent Web-based capabilities can support such teams in terms of both their collaborative activities and their access to (and sharing of) information resources

    Legal crowdsourcing and relational law : what the semantic web can do for legal education

    Crowdsourcing and Relational Law are interrelated concepts that can be successfully applied to the legal domain and, more specifically, to the field of legal education. 'Crowdsourcing' means 'participation of people (crowds)' and refers theoretically to the aggregated production of a common knowledge in a global data space. 'Relational law' refers to the regulatory link between Web 2.0 and 3.0, based on trust and dialogue, which emerges from the intertwining of top-down existing legal systems and bottom-up participation (the Web of People). Legal education today has a major role to play in the broad space opened up in terms of future potential of the Semantic Web.     Positive Disruptions Caused by SCRM Activities in the SECI process of Knowledge Creation: Insights from Four Case Studies

    Web 2.0 has been in the foray for a while playing an important role in threading business processes, various departments, systems and key stakeholders (within firms) to activate customer participation and involvement. In order to re-emphasize customer centricity, firms have been using SCRM (Social Customer Relationship Management) approach as a part of their CRM (Customer Relationship Management) strategy. The activities under SCRM are a major source for organizational knowledge creation that occurs due to a continuous dialogue between tacit and explicit knowledge. Also, various social platforms (operating for SCRM) where collaboration takes place acts as a shared context for knowledge creation. To comprehend the actions and limitations of a knowledge-creating firm thoroughly, this research paper examines the process of knowledge-creation by (1) revisiting Nonaka-Takeuchi SECI (Socialization, Externalization, Combination & Internalization) process to recognize how SCRM activities can be prolific in organizational knowledge creation (2) exploring positive disruptions created by integrating SCRM activities with four modes of SECI process for additional knowledge creation (3) analyzing case studies of four firms from consumer products sector that use SCRM approach and (4) discovering the elements under SCRM approach that satisfy ‘BA’ as a shared context
