Conditions at the downstream boundary for simulations of viscous incompressible flow
The proper specification of boundary conditions at artificial boundaries for the simulation of time-dependent fluid flows has long been a matter of controversy. A general theory of asymptotic boundary conditions for dissipative waves is applied to the design of simple, accurate conditions at downstream boundary for incompressible flows. For Reynolds numbers far enough below the critical value for linear stability, a scaling is introduced which greatly simplifies the construction of the asymptotic conditions. Numerical experiments with the nonlinear dynamics of vortical disturbances to plane Poiseuille flow are presented which illustrate the accuracy of our approach. The consequences of directly applying the scalings to the equations are also considered
Aging and structural relaxation of hyper-quenched Mg65Cu25Y10 metallic glass
The structural relaxation, glass transition and crystallization processes of Mg65Cu25Y10 metallic glass are studied by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Mechanical spectroscopy. The relaxation model derived from the mechanical measurements is compared with the kinetics of these transformations obtained from the DSC curves. The structural relaxation kinetics is found to be controlled by the glassy dynamics following an Adams-Gibbs-Vogel function. The glass transition and crystallization kinetics are controlled by the dynamics of the supercooled melt following a Vogel-Fulcher-Tammann behaviour. The results suggest that the microscopic processes responsible of structural relaxation and aging below the glass transition correspond to the same processes generating the a-relaxation peak. Truck Weight Survey Field Instructions, May 1987
The Truck Weight Survey is conducted by the Office of Transportation Inventory of the Iowa Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration. Weighing operations are conducted biennially and provide information with regard to trends of gross weight, axle loading, axle spacing, dimensions and
commodities carried by commercial vehicles using the highways in Iowa
Dimensions of perfectionism as vulnerability factors for depression in the narcissistic and obsessive-compulsive personalities : a test of a specific diathesis-stress model
Theoretical and clinical descriptions of narcissistic and obsessive-compulsive personality disorders portray individuals with these disorders as pathologically perfectionistic. Personality dysfunction has been identified as a vulnerability factor for depression. The specificity hypothesis posits that the interaction of pathological personality characteristics and stress consistent with those personality characteristics has a depressogenic effect. It was hypothesized that individuals with obsessive-compulsive and narcissistic personality styles would respond with dysphoric mood in a different manner from one another, from individuals with other personality disorder styles, and from individuals with non-dysfunctional personality styles to stress congruent with self-oriented perfectionism, other-oriented perfectionism, and socially prescribed perfectionism. It was also hypothesized that stress congruent with self-oriented and socially prescribed perfectionism would produce higher levels of dysphoria than stress congruent with other-oriented perfectionism, regardless of participant personality styles

comunidade e envolvente estatal. Persistem dificuldades de financiamento, encontrando-se
demasiado centradas no apoio externo comunitário e estatal.
trabalho para a cooperativa, para a comunidade e para a promoção dos seus valoresThe statement of Social Economy and the rise of Social Enterprises as an organizational solution,
in which are co-operatives, has brought up to co-operative movement renewed mechanisms for its
growth.
In truth, although the model has made a course throughout the centuries, there are insufficiency
point out that drive to an inefficiency as a model, being management frequently presented as a
cause of their fragilities, in this sense its presented a study that attempts to understand the cooperative
model through management, looking at the reality in literature and peering the way for an
economic, financial and social sustainable model. To achieve this goal it has been analyze the cooperative
theoretical model, identifying its particularities and delimiters that fall on their
management course, using multiple case studies of Portuguese Co-operatives to understand the
behavior of the defined theoretical framing in concrete cases.
Through the case study analyses it was possible to relate the values and principles with the
management unwind, the democratic governance as a propitiator of a higher level of commitment
between the cooperators and with the organization, reflecting higher levels of satisfaction,
democracy and freedom. Representing these co-operatives an answer to the cooperators and
community needs. Its fragilities are focus on the insufficient awareness of the “co-operative
advantage” not always understood by their members, by the community and by the government.
The financing difficulties persist, which are too centralized on European and government external
support.
In spite of the need of a continuous work and strong commitment to ensure its subsistence, the Cooperative
models analyzed reveal that they have existed over a decade and continue to develop its
activity grounded on the value of their work for the Co-operative, for the community and for the
promotion of their value
