    Detecting financial sustainability risk of the assets using MAMDANI fuzzy controller

    The paper aims to develop a MAMDANI fuzzy controller for detecting the financial sustainability risk of the assets owned by the company. This type of risk indicates when an asset no longer produces economic benefits to the company, or the benefits are small enough to no longer justify the asset maintaining in working order. The proposed fuzzy controller has as input variables the asset operating expenses and the variation of this category of expenses from one analysis period to another. The controller's objective function is to keep operating costs at their initial state and thus reducing the financial sustainability risk. The controller's output variable is represented by the economic benefits variation, considered to be an essential component in the financial sustainability risk analysis. The obtained results were interpreted taking into account the objective function of the controller as well as the evolution of the input variables. Two simulations for fuzzy controllers were made, with the mention that the variation ranges for the input variables were delimited. In practice, fuzzy controllers can be generated according to company policies to keep under control the expense categories that accompany the asset exploitation

    One of the most important functions of an export credit agency (ECA) is to act as an intermediary between national governments and exporters. These organizations provide financing to reduce the political and commercial risks in international trade. The agents assess the buyers based on financial and non-financial indicators to determine whether it is advisable to grant them credit. Because many of these indicators are qualitative and inherently linguistically ambiguous, the agents must make decisions in uncertain environments. Therefore, to make the most accurate decision possible, they often utilize fuzzy inference systems. The purpose of this research was to design a credit rating model in an uncertain environment using the fuzzy inference system (FIS). In this research, we used suitable variables of agency ratings from previous studies and then screened them via the Delphi method. Finally, we created a credit rating model using these variables and FIS including related IF-THEN rules which can be applied in a practical setting

Padang as the administrative center of West Sumatra is one of tourism places in Indonesia. Unfortunately, all the facilities and touris actractions here need improvement, for example the hotels. For the increasement of this hotel, SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threats) analysis and balanced scorecard method were applied. It began with the strategic information gathering based on interviewing the company, then continue processing it into a questionnaire which based on SWOT research. At this point, it is known that Premier Basko Hotel is in quadrant II (strength-threat) SWOT analysis diagram. So, this hotel needs to implement a diversification strategy. It also has 14 types of alternative strategies with strategic goals, 14 factors on Critical Success Factors (CSF), 38 indicators on Key Performance Indicators (KPI), and 38 pieces forms of performance management system.     In the Industry 5.0 era, companies are leveraging the potential of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence for more efficient and green human-centric production. In a similar approach, project management would benefit from artificial intelligence in order to achieve project goals by improving project performance, and consequently, reaching higher sustainable success. In this context, this paper examines the role of artificial intelligence in emerging project management through a systematic literature review; the applications of AI techniques in the project management performance domains are presented. The results show that the number of influential publications on artificial intelligence-enabled project management has increased significantly over the last decade. The findings indicate that artificial intelligence, predominantly machine learning, can be considerably useful in the management of construction and IT projects; it is notably encouraging for enhancing the planning, measurement, and uncertainty performance domains by providing promising forecasting and decision-making capabilities

    Effective Internal Controls for Recognizing Contracting Revenues

    Business leaders of contracting companies in Qatar struggle to develop appropriate internal controls over revenue estimates to mitigate the risk of financial statement manipulation. Grounded in the internal control framework of the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission, the purpose of this multiple case study was to explore strategies that business leaders responsible for financial reporting use to develop and implement effective internal controls for recognizing contracting revenues. Nine participants from 3 private contracting companies in Qatar who had implemented strategies to develop and implement effective internal controls for recognizing contracting revenues participated in face-to-face semistructured interviews. Through a process of methodological triangulation as described by Yin, observations and documentary evidence supplemented data collected through semistructured interviews. Different themes emerged through the analysis of data that involved coding narrative segments. The research findings included themes of control environment, control activities, systemized project budget, accounting standards compliance, and risk assessment and monitoring. Business leaders of contracting companies may benefit from the findings of this study by gaining awareness of the need to develop and implement effective internal controls for recognizing contracting revenues. Implications for positive social change could come from identifying internal controls that increase financial statement reliability, which could lead to increased access to capital and debt financing and improved employment opportunities in Qatar
