Generalized Communicating P Systems Working in Fair Sequential Model
In this article we consider a new derivation mode for generalized
communicating P systems (GCPS) corresponding to the functioning of population
protocols (PP) and based on the sequential derivation mode and a fairness
condition. We show that PP can be seen as a particular variant of GCPS. We also
consider a particular stochastic evolution satisfying the fairness condition
and obtain that it corresponds to the run of a Gillespie's SSA. This permits to
further describe the dynamics of GCPS by a system of ODEs when the population
size goes to the infinity.Comment: Presented at MeCBIC 201
P Colony Automata with LL(k)-like Conditions
We investigate the possibility of the deterministic parsing (that is, parsing
without backtracking) of languages characterized by (generalized) P colony automata.
We de ne a class of P colony automata satisfying a property which resembles the LL(k)
property of context-free grammars, and study the possibility of parsing the characterized
languages using a k symbol lookahead, as in the LL(k) parsing method for context-free
languages
4. generációs mobil rendszerek kutatása = Research on 4-th Generation Mobile Systems
A 3G mobil rendszerek szabványosítása a végéhez közeledik, legalábbis a meghatározó képességek tekintetében. Ezért létfontosságú azon technikák, eljárások vizsgálata, melyek a következő, 4G rendszerekben meghatározó szerepet töltenek majd be. Több ilyen kutatási irányvonal is létezik, ezek közül projektünkben a fontosabbakra koncentráltunk. A következőben felsoroljuk a kutatott területeket, és röviden összegezzük az elért eredményeket. Szórt spektrumú rendszerek Kifejlesztettünk egy új, rádiós interfészen alkalmazható hívásengedélyezési eljárást. Szimulációs vizsgálatokkal támasztottuk alá a megoldás hatékonyságát. A projektben kutatóként résztvevő Jeney Gábor sikeresen megvédte Ph.D. disszertációját neurális hálózatokra épülő többfelhasználós detekciós technikák témában. Az elért eredmények Imre Sándor MTA doktori disszertációjába is beépültek. IP alkalmazása mobil rendszerekben Továbbfejlesztettük, teszteltük és általánosítottuk a projekt keretében megalkotott új, gyűrű alapú topológiára épülő, a jelenleginél nagyobb megbízhatóságú IP alapú hozzáférési koncepciót. A témakörben Szalay Máté Ph.D. disszertációja már a nyilvános védésig jutott. Kvantum-informatikai módszerek alkalmazása 3G/4G detekcióra Új, kvantum-informatikai elvekre épülő többfelhasználós detekciós eljárást dolgoztunk ki. Ehhez új kvantum alapú algoritmusokat is kifejlesztettünk. Az eredményeket nemzetközi folyóiratok mellett egy saját könyvben is publikáltuk. | The project consists of three main research directions. Spread spectrum systems: we developed a new call admission control method for 3G air interfaces. Project member Gabor Jeney obtained the Ph.D. degree and project leader Sandor Imre submitted his DSc theses from this area. Application of IP in mobile systems: A ring-based reliable IP mobility mobile access concept and corresponding protocols have been developed. Project member Máté Szalay submitted his Ph.D. theses from this field. Quantum computing based solutions in 3G/4G detection: Quantum computing based multiuser detection algorithm was developed. Based on the results on this field a book was published at Wiley entitled: 'Quantum Computing and Communications - an engineering approach'
A Second-Order Distributed Trotter-Suzuki Solver with a Hybrid Kernel
The Trotter-Suzuki approximation leads to an efficient algorithm for solving
the time-dependent Schr\"odinger equation. Using existing highly optimized CPU
and GPU kernels, we developed a distributed version of the algorithm that runs
efficiently on a cluster. Our implementation also improves single node
performance, and is able to use multiple GPUs within a node. The scaling is
close to linear using the CPU kernels, whereas the efficiency of GPU kernels
improve with larger matrices. We also introduce a hybrid kernel that
simultaneously uses multicore CPUs and GPUs in a distributed system. This
kernel is shown to be efficient when the matrix size would not fit in the GPU
memory. Larger quantum systems scale especially well with a high number nodes.
The code is available under an open source license.Comment: 11 pages, 10 figure
Statistical thermodynamics for choice models on graphs
Formalism based on equilibrium statistical thermodynamics is applied to
communication networks of decision making individuals. It is shown that in
statistical ensembles for choice models, properly defined disutility can play
the same role as energy in statistical mechanics. We demonstrate additivity and
extensivity of disutility and build three types of equilibrium statistical
ensembles: the canonical, the grand canonical and the super-canonical. Using
Boltzmann-like probability measure one reproduce the logit choice model. We
also propose using q-distributions for temperature evolution of moments of
stochastic variables. The formalism is applied to three network topologies of
different degrees of symmetry, for which in many cases analytic results are
obtained and numerical simulations are performed for all of them. Possible
applications of the model to airline networks and its usefulness for practical
support of economic decisions is pointed out.Comment: 17 pages, 13 figure
