    The study explored how collaboration management is connected with employee views of work and skills in the health care, social welfare, and education sectors that provide services for children and families in municipalities. Collaboration management in children and family services involves increasing awareness of services, organizing agreed collaboration practices, overcoming barriers to collaboration, managing difficult relationships with coworkers, and contributing purposively to the functionality of collaboration. Data were gathered using a postal survey. The sample consisted of 457 employees working in the health care, social welfare, and educational settings in Finnish municipalities. Overall, the results suggested that collaboration management is related to employees’ positive views of work and versatile skills. Good awareness of services, well agreed-upon collaboration practices, and wellfunctioning collaboration were associated with employees’ influence over their own work, social support being received from managers, a perception of leadership justice, employee collaboration skills, and employee retention. On the other hand, barriers to collaboration seemed to reduce employees’ influence over their own work, social support, perceptions of leadership justice, collaboration skills, and employee retention. The findings indicate the need for effective collaboration management in multidisciplinary environments between the health care, social welfare, and education sectors that provide services for children and families to achieve employees’ positive views of work and versatile skills

    Higher education plays an important role in the implementation of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). Together with industry, the collaboration can provide a wider multiplier effect. Among others, agro-industry is one of sector that provides vast employment opportunities both on- and off-farms, which potentially improve welfare of human involved. However, its activities in effort to meet the needs of rapid increase of world’s population faced with scarcity problems, sometimes merely focus on economic sustainability. Therefore, disseminating good cleaner production practices, which emphasizes the reduction or removal of environmental contamination at the source (front of pipe concept) can be done to educate agro-industrial actors to implement sustainable development.     Multi-Institutional Collaboration in Human Resource Development at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN) 3 Deli Serdang

    This article discusses improving the quality of education through multi-institutional collaboration with a case study at MIN 3 Deli Serdang. This study aims to analyze and describe HR management in this Islamic educational institution. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and structured interviews. The results show that collaboration between madrasahs and the government, as well as the private sector and community, significantly improves the quality of education and human resource development (HRD). This collaboration improves teachers' professional competence and strengthens community trust in madrasahs. The study also highlights the critical role of madrasah principals in HR management, from procurement to educator development. Appropriate task placement and systematic coaching programs, such as regular meetings, training, seminars, and supervision, support the improvement of teachers' professionalism. The madrasah principal also motivates and facilitates teachers' career development and improves their welfare, especially for honorary teachers. This research provides recommendations for Islamic education institutions to strengthen multi-agency collaboration in human resource development. Effective collaboration can create a conducive environment for the growth and capacity development of educators and learners, improve the quality of teaching and learning, and increase the nation's competitiveness at the global level

    Pedagogues and Social Workers - Challenges of Collaboration

    In their work, pedagogues and social workers respond to many pedagogical and social challenges that children and/or their families face. In order to successfully address these challenges, it is necessary to achieve a quality collaboration between the school and the social welfare centre. Seeking an answer to the question of quality of the collaboration, three research questions were asked in this research. The answer was reached using a semi-structured interview. The results showed that research participants assessed the following as important: collaboration (they also offered suggestions on how it could be improved), their own education and training, personality traits and personal views of “helpers”, the need to harmonise legislation and to employ social workers in schools as members of professional counselling services

    Evidence on financing and budgeting mechanisms to support intersectoral actions between health, education, social welfare and labour sectors

    Intersectoral collaboration between the health and the social welfare, education or labour sectors can help to influence the social determinants of health. Funding such collaboration can be difficult as these sectors may be subject to very different regulatory structures, incentives and goals. This review found 51 documents on the use of various financial mechanisms to facilitate intersectoral collaboration for health promotion, involving at least two of these sectors. A systematic search of the evidence identified the approaches used, including: discretionary earmarked funding, recurring delegated financing allocated to independent bodies and mechanisms for joint budgeting between two or more sectors. Many of these examples are implemented at a regional or local, rather than national, level and factors that influence their success include organizational structures, management, culture and trust. Potential facilitators include regulatory and legislative frameworks providing incentives, clear accountability for actions and the identification of specific benefits to all participating sectors

    The Importance of Cross-System Collaboration for Dual Status Youth

    Dual Status Youth (DSY), youth who receive supervision from both the juvenile justice and child welfare systems, are more vulnerable than youth who are only involved in one of these child-serving systems. Dually-involved youth have more detrimental outcomes in exposure to trauma, homelessness, substance abuse, recidivism, health problems, and protective indicators (factors such as education, peer or family support, employment, and coping skills) than youth who are only involved in one system (Narendorf et al., 2020). It is more common for youth to initially be involved in child welfare and become a part of the juvenile justice system later than vice versa; only about 8% of youth from the juvenile justice system transition to child welfare (Kim et al., 2021). A cross-system collaboration is pivotal to the success of these individuals because it would allow for better communication and engagement between the family and the systems as well as increase the services available to successfully overcome the barriers that DSY face (McMinn et al., 2021). The Lancaster County DSY Initiative will encourage collaboration between the two child-serving systems that would allow for better communication and datasharing, thus ensuring success for DSY. However, for it to be successful, employees and families must be aware of its existence and purpose
