    Hidden attractors in fundamental problems and engineering models

    Recently a concept of self-excited and hidden attractors was suggested: an attractor is called a self-excited attractor if its basin of attraction overlaps with neighborhood of an equilibrium, otherwise it is called a hidden attractor. For example, hidden attractors are attractors in systems with no equilibria or with only one stable equilibrium (a special case of multistability and coexistence of attractors). While coexisting self-excited attractors can be found using the standard computational procedure, there is no standard way of predicting the existence or coexistence of hidden attractors in a system. In this plenary survey lecture the concept of self-excited and hidden attractors is discussed, and various corresponding examples of self-excited and hidden attractors are considered

    Chaotification of Quasi-Zero Stiffness System via Direct Time-delay Feedback Control

    This paper presents a chaotification method based on direct time-delay feedback control for a quasi-zero-stiffness isolation system. An analytical function of time-delay feedback control is derived based on differential-geometry control theory. Furthermore, the feasibility and effectiveness of this method was verified by numerical simulations. Numerical simulations show that this method holds the favorable aspects including the advantage of using tiny control gain, the capability of chaotifying across a large range of parametric domain and the high feasibility of the control implement

    Dynamic system with no equilibrium and its chaos anti-synchronization

    Recently, systems with chaos and the absence of equilibria have received a great deal of attention. In our work, a simple five-term system and its anti-synchronization are presented. It is special that the system has a hyperbolic sine nonlinearity and no equilibrium. Such a system generates chaotic behaviours, which are verified by phase portraits, positive Lyapunov exponent as well as an electronic circuit. Moreover, the system displays multistable characteristic when changing its initial conditions. By constructing an adaptive control, chaos anti-synchronization of the system with no equilibrium is obtained and illustrated via a numerical example

    Dynamics, control, stability, diffusion and synchronization of modified chaotic colpitts oscillator with triangular wave non-linearity

    The purpose of this paper is to introduce a new chaotic oscillator. Although different chaotic systems have been formulated by earlier researchers, only a few chaotic systems exhibit chaotic behaviour. In this work, a new chaotic system with chaotic attractor is introduced for triangular wave non-linearity. It is worth noting that this striking phenomenon rarely occurs in respect of chaotic systems. The system proposed in this paper has been realized with numerical simulation. The results emanating from the numerical simulation indicate the feasibility of the proposed chaotic system. More over, chaos control, stability, diffusion and synchronization of such a system have been dealt with.Publisher's Versio

    Reduction of dimension for nonlinear dynamical systems

    We consider reduction of dimension for nonlinear dynamical systems. We demonstrate that in some cases, one can reduce a nonlinear system of equations into a single equation for one of the state variables, and this can be useful for computing the solution when using a variety of analytical approaches. In the case where this reduction is possible, we employ differential elimination to obtain the reduced system. While analytical, the approach is algorithmic, and is implemented in symbolic software such as {\sc MAPLE} or {\sc SageMath}. In other cases, the reduction cannot be performed strictly in terms of differential operators, and one obtains integro-differential operators, which may still be useful. In either case, one can use the reduced equation to both approximate solutions for the state variables and perform chaos diagnostics more efficiently than could be done for the original higher-dimensional system, as well as to construct Lyapunov functions which help in the large-time study of the state variables. A number of chaotic and hyperchaotic dynamical systems are used as examples in order to motivate the approach.Comment: 16 pages, no figure

    A research on the synchronization of two novel chaotic systems based on a nonlinear active control algorithm

    The problem of chaos synchronization is to design a coupling between two chaotic systems (master-slave/drive-response systems configuration) such that the chaotic time evaluation becomes ideal and the output of the slave (response) system asymptotically follows the output of the master (drive) system.This paper has addressed the chaos synchronization problem of two chaotic systems using the Nonlinear Control Techniques, based on Lyapunov stability theory.It has been shown that the proposed schemes have outstanding transient performances and that analytically as well as graphically, synchronization is asymptotically globally stable.Suitable feedback controllers are designed to stabilize the closed-loop system at the origin. All simulation results are carried out to corroborate the effectiveness of the proposed methodologies by using Mathematica 9
