ERP implementation methodologies and frameworks: a literature review
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation is a complex and vibrant process, one that involves a combination of technological and organizational interactions. Often an ERP implementation project is the single largest IT project that an organization has ever launched and requires a mutual fit of system and organization. Also the concept of an ERP implementation supporting business processes across many different departments is not a generic, rigid and uniform concept and depends on variety of factors. As a result, the issues addressing the ERP implementation process have been one of the major concerns in industry. Therefore ERP implementation receives attention from practitioners and scholars and both, business as well as academic literature is abundant and not always very conclusive or coherent. However, research on ERP systems so far has been mainly focused on diffusion, use and impact issues. Less attention has been given to the methods used during the configuration and the implementation of ERP systems, even though they are commonly used in practice, they still remain largely unexplored and undocumented in Information Systems research. So, the academic relevance of this research is the contribution to the existing body of scientific knowledge. An annotated brief literature review is done in order to evaluate the current state of the existing academic literature. The purpose is to present a systematic overview of relevant ERP implementation methodologies and frameworks as a desire for achieving a better taxonomy of ERP implementation methodologies. This paper is useful to researchers who are interested in ERP implementation methodologies and frameworks. Results will serve as an input for a classification of the existing ERP implementation methodologies and frameworks. Also, this paper aims also at the professional ERP community involved in the process of ERP implementation by promoting a better understanding of ERP implementation methodologies and frameworks, its variety and history
A framework and tool to manage Cloud Computing service quality
Cloud Computing has generated considerable interest in both companies specialized
in Information and Communication Technology and business context in general.
The Sourcing Capability Maturity Model for service (e-SCM) is a capability model for
offshore outsourcing services between clients and providers that offers appropriate strategies
to enhance Cloud Computing implementation. It intends to achieve the required
quality of service and develop an effective working relationship between clients and
providers. Moreover, quality evaluation framework is a framework to control the quality of
any product and/or process. It offers a tool support that can generate software artifacts to
manage any type of product and service efficiently and effectively. Thus, the aim of this
paper was to make this framework and tool support available to manage Cloud Computing

How can SMEs benefit from big data? Challenges and a path forward
Big data is big news, and large companies in all sectors are making significant advances in their customer relations, product selection and development and consequent profitability through using this valuable commodity. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have proved themselves to be slow adopters of the new technology of big data analytics and are in danger of being left behind. In Europe, SMEs are a vital part of the economy, and the challenges they encounter need to be addressed as a matter of urgency. This paper identifies barriers to SME uptake of big data analytics and recognises their complex challenge to all stakeholders, including national and international policy makers, IT, business management and data science communities.
The paper proposes a big data maturity model for SMEs as a first step towards an SME roadmap to data analytics. It considers the ‘state-of-the-art’ of IT with respect to usability and usefulness for SMEs and discusses how SMEs can overcome the barriers preventing them from adopting existing solutions. The paper then considers management perspectives and the role of maturity models in enhancing and structuring the adoption of data analytics in an organisation. The history of total quality management is reviewed to inform the core aspects of implanting a new paradigm. The paper concludes with recommendations to help SMEs develop their big data capability and enable them to continue as the engines of European industrial and business success. Validating adequacy and suitability of business-IT alignment criteria in an inter-enterprise maturity model
Aligning requirements of a business with its information technology is currently a major issue in enterprise computing. Existing literature indicates important criteria to judge the level of alignment between business and IT within a single enterprise. However, identifying such criteria in an inter-enterprise setting – or re-thinking the existing ones – is hardly addressed at all. Business-IT alignment in such settings poses new challenges, as in inter-enterprise collaborations, alignment is driven by economic processes instead of centralized decision-making processes. In our research, we develop a maturity model for business-IT alignment in inter-enterprise settings that takes this difference into account. In this paper, we report on a multi-method approach we devised to confront the validation of the business-IT alignment criteria that we included in the maturity model. As independent feedback is critical for our validation, we used a focus group session and a case study as instruments to take the first step in validating the business-IT alignment criteria. We present how we applied our approach, what we learnt, and what the implications were for our model
Developing an inter-enterprise alignment maturity model: research challenges and solutions
Business-IT alignment is pervasive today, as organizations strive to achieve competitive advantage. Like in other areas, e.g., software development, maintenance and IT services, there are maturity models to assess such alignment. Those models, however, do not specifically address the aspects needed for achieving alignment between business and IT in inter-enterprise settings. KM Maturity Factors Affecting High Performance in Universities
This paper aims to measure Knowledge Management Maturity (KMM) in the universities to determine the impact of knowledge
management on high performance. This study was applied on Al-Quds Open University in Gaza strip, Palestine. Asian
productivity organization model was applied to measure KMM. Second dimension which assess high performance was
developed by the authors. The controlled sample was (306). Several statistical tools were used for data analysis and hypotheses
testing, including reliability Correlation using Cronbach’s alpha, “ANOVA”, Simple Linear Regression and Step Wise
Regression.The overall findings of the current study suggest that KMM is suitable for measuring high performance. KMM
assessment shows that maturity level is in level three. Findings also support the main hypothesis and it is sub- hypotheses. The
most important factors effecting high performance are: Processes, KM leadership, People, KM Outcomes and Learning and
Innovation. Furthermore the current study is unique by the virtue of its nature, scope and way of implied investigation, as it is
the first comparative study in the universities of Palestine explores the status of KMM using the Asian productivity Model
Dynamic real-time risk analytics of uncontrollable states in complex internet of things systems, cyber risk at the edge
The Internet of Things (IoT) triggers new types of cyber risks. Therefore,
the integration of new IoT devices and services requires a self-assessment of
IoT cyber security posture. By security posture this article refers to the
cybersecurity strength of an organisation to predict, prevent and respond to
cyberthreats. At present, there is a gap in the state of the art, because there
are no self-assessment methods for quantifying IoT cyber risk posture. To
address this gap, an empirical analysis is performed of 12 cyber risk
assessment approaches. The results and the main findings from the analysis is
presented as the current and a target risk state for IoT systems, followed by
conclusions and recommendations on a transformation roadmap, describing how IoT
systems can achieve the target state with a new goal-oriented dependency model.
By target state, we refer to the cyber security target that matches the generic
security requirements of an organisation. The research paper studies and adapts
four alternatives for IoT risk assessment and identifies the goal-oriented
dependency modelling as a dominant approach among the risk assessment models
studied. The new goal-oriented dependency model in this article enables the
assessment of uncontrollable risk states in complex IoT systems and can be used
for a quantitative self-assessment of IoT cyber risk posture

(How) do you measure the cost and value of the different types of international work performed by your employees? In the globalized economy, organizations increasingly derive value from human resources, or “talent” as we shall also use the term here (Boudreau, Ramstad & Dowling, in press). The strategic importance of the workforce makes decisions about talent critical to organizational success. Informed decisions about talent require a strategic approach to measurement. However, measures alone are not sufficient, for measures without logic can create information overload, and decision quality rests in substantial part on the quality of measurements. An important element of enhanced global competitiveness is a measurement model for talent that articulates the connections between people and success, as well as the context and boundary conditions that affect those connections. This chapter will propose a framework within which existing and potential global HR measures can be organized and understood. The framework reflects the premise that measures exist to support and enhance decisions, and that strategic decisions require a logical connection between decisions about resources, such as talent, and the key organizational outcomes affected by those decisions. Such a framework may provide a useful mental model for both designers and users of HR measures
