Exact Gap Computation for Code Coverage Metrics in ISO-C
Test generation and test data selection are difficult tasks for model based
testing. Tests for a program can be meld to a test suite. A lot of research is
done to quantify the quality and improve a test suite. Code coverage metrics
estimate the quality of a test suite. This quality is fine, if the code
coverage value is high or 100%. Unfortunately it might be impossible to achieve
100% code coverage because of dead code for example. There is a gap between the
feasible and theoretical maximal possible code coverage value. Our review of
the research indicates, none of current research is concerned with exact gap
computation. This paper presents a framework to compute such gaps exactly in an
ISO-C compatible semantic and similar languages. We describe an efficient
approximation of the gap in all the other cases. Thus, a tester can decide if

Test Data Generation of Bytecode by CLP Partial Evaluation
We employ existing partial evaluation (PE) techniques developed for Constraint Logic Programming (CLP) in order to automatically generate test-case generators for glass-box testing of bytecode. Our approach consists of two independent CLP PE phases. (1) First, the bytecode is transformed into an equivalent (decompiled) CLP program. This is already a well studied transformation which can be done either by using an ad-hoc decompiler or by specialising a bytecode interpreter by means of existing PE techniques. (2) A second PE is performed in order to supervise the generation of test-cases by execution of the CLP decompiled program. Interestingly, we employ control strategies previously defined in the context of CLP PE in order to capture coverage criteria for glass-box testing of bytecode. A unique feature of our approach is that, this second PE phase allows generating not only test-cases but also test-case generators. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that (CLP) PE techniques are applied for test-case generation as well as to generate test-case generators

In this study, a recently developed technique employing the do what's possible representation is used to create open-ended level maps. Generation of the map can continue indefinitely, yielding a highly scalable representation. A parameter study is performed to find good parameters for the evolutionary algorithm used to locate high quality map generators. Variations on the technique are presented, demonstrating its versatility, and an algorithmic variant is given that both improves performance and changes the character of maps located. The ability of the map to adapt to different regions where the map is permitted to occupy space are also tested.Final Accepted Versio
Real Time Animation of Virtual Humans: A Trade-off Between Naturalness and Control
Virtual humans are employed in many interactive applications using 3D virtual environments, including (serious) games. The motion of such virtual humans should look realistic (or ‘natural’) and allow interaction with the surroundings and other (virtual) humans. Current animation techniques differ in the trade-off they offer between motion naturalness and the control that can be exerted over the motion. We show mechanisms to parametrize, combine (on different body parts) and concatenate motions generated by different animation techniques. We discuss several aspects of motion naturalness and show how it can be evaluated. We conclude by showing the promise of combinations of different animation paradigms to enhance both naturalness and control
Domain-Specific Acceleration and Auto-Parallelization of Legacy Scientific Code in FORTRAN 77 using Source-to-Source Compilation
Massively parallel accelerators such as GPGPUs, manycores and FPGAs represent
a powerful and affordable tool for scientists who look to speed up simulations
of complex systems. However, porting code to such devices requires a detailed
understanding of heterogeneous programming tools and effective strategies for
parallelization. In this paper we present a source to source compilation
approach with whole-program analysis to automatically transform single-threaded
FORTRAN 77 legacy code into OpenCL-accelerated programs with parallelized
kernels.
The main contributions of our work are: (1) whole-source refactoring to allow
any subroutine in the code to be offloaded to an accelerator. (2) Minimization
of the data transfer between the host and the accelerator by eliminating
redundant transfers. (3) Pragmatic auto-parallelization of the code to be
offloaded to the accelerator by identification of parallelizable maps and
reductions.
We have validated the code transformation performance of the compiler on the
NIST FORTRAN 78 test suite and several real-world codes: the Large Eddy
Simulator for Urban Flows, a high-resolution turbulent flow model; the shallow
water component of the ocean model Gmodel; the Linear Baroclinic Model, an
atmospheric climate model and Flexpart-WRF, a particle dispersion simulator.
The automatic parallelization component has been tested on as 2-D Shallow
Water model (2DSW) and on the Large Eddy Simulator for Urban Flows (UFLES) and
produces a complete OpenCL-enabled code base. The fully OpenCL-accelerated
versions of the 2DSW and the UFLES are resp. 9x and 20x faster on GPU than the
original code on CPU, in both cases this is the same performance as manually
