Este artigo tem por objetivo apresentar algumas moedas cunhadas com a imagem de Alexandre, o Grande (356-323 a.C.), juntamente com uma discussão teórica acerca do papel das moedas como documento histórico e arqueológico, especialmente em termos de legitimidade de poder representados pela imagem desse monarca nos reversos monetários.81(9)136-14

Propriedades psicométricas da Escada de Satisfaçãocom a Vida em população equatoriana adulta

Objective . To analyze the psychometric properties of the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) in the adult Eduadorian population. Method . A con fi rmatory factorial analysis was carried out in which 756 adult Ecuadorians participated. Results . The con fi rmatory factor analysis showed a very good fi t in the model with a single factor, just like the original scale. Although men presented higher levels of satisfaction with life than women, the invariance analysis showed that the factorial structure of the scale is equivalent in both genders, which allows comparison. In the reliability analysis, the SWLS showed adequate internal consistency ( α = 0.81). Conclusion . The SWLS is a useful tool for the study of satisfaction with life in the Ecuadorian adult population.Objetivo . Analizar las propiedades psicométricas de la Escala de Satisfacción con la Vida (SWLS, por sus siglas en inglés) en población ecuatoriana adulta. Método . Se realizó un análisis factorial con fi rmatorio en el que participaron 756 ecuatorianos adultos. Resultados . Al igual que en la escala original, el análisis de esta investigación mostró un alto ajuste en el modelo con un solo factor. Si bien los hombres presentaron mayores niveles de satisfacción con la vida que las mujeres, el análisis de invarianza evidenció que la estructura factorial de la escala es equivalente en ambos sexos, lo que permite su comparación. En el análisis de con fi abilidad, la SWLS presentó adecuada consistencia interna ( α = 0.81). Conclusión . La SWLS es una herramienta útil para el estudio de la satisfacción con la vida en población adulta ecuatoriana.Escopo . Time-aware Traffic Shaper using Time-based Packet Scheduling on Intel I210

By 2015, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) time-sensitive networking (TSN) task group has released several TSN standards. Amongst them is 802.1Qbv, also known as a time-aware shaper, aiming to provide performance assurances of latency and delivery variation to enable applications in a TSN network. While there are several products and evaluation kits that employ 802.1Qbv in the market now, it is still not widely adopted yet due to the maturity of the standard. Hardware-enabled 802.1Qbv use hardware queues and timers to achieve accurate transmission of packets in the switch and bridge. This research aims to investigate the feasibility of using an existing end-station Ethernet controller, Intel I210, and its launch time control feature (commonly known as time-based packet scheduling) to shape traffic compatible to 802.1Qbv-enabled network bridges. A software solution is developed by implementing a software configurable gate-control list and employing open-source Linux RFC patches for per-packet transmit time specification. By configuring the kernel and mapping kernel-layer traffic classes to the hardware queues, packets can be transmitted out at precise times while attaching 802.1Q VLAN tags, required by bridges to identify packets. Through analysis, it is found that this solution will require an additional 30 μs transmit offset to be used effectively. That is 55% more time is needed to transmit a packet in a back-to-back connection and 17.6% on a 3-switch network to improve period peak jitter performance to just 8.9  μs compared to 1 ms on solutions that send packets out periodically using software sleep functions

This study aims to determine the effect of time and temperature on the quality of the resulting starch avocado seed. This study used a completely randomized factorial design with two replications. Temperature factor with four level 1: S1: 40 0C, S2: 50 0C, S3: 60 0C and S4: 70 0C. Factor 2 time four levels ie: W1: 6 hours, W2: 7 hours, W3: 8 hours and W4: 9 hours. The results showed the temperature and the W1 S1 shows a very different effect on yield, moisture content, carbohydrate content and color. However, the interaction effect of treatment showed no significant difference. Inna codzienność. Funkcjonowanie Wenecji jako miasta bez samochodów

Shaping of the space generally follows the standards which are created in search for fulfilling the human needs. Unfortunately the means often became more important than the goals. In order to provide mobility and at the same time protection from the oppressiveness of transportation the huge space is lost for the transportation roads which are alienated from their surrounding and for the buffer spaces. There are different solutions. The spectacular example of their use is Venice – the city big part of which is inaccesibble for cars. It means it is free from oppressiveness connected with the presence of cars, but also it does not use the possibilities given by using cars for different needs. The function reserved in majority of the world for cars in Venice is provided by different kinds of boats. It is worth to pay attention on different everyday situations from the part of Venice which is free of cars. They are substituted not only by water transit but also by the pedestrian transit. The small scale of the streets and squares of Venice also has an important meaning for the everyday of the city. Venice faces a serious problem of the loss of its inhabitants which are pushed out of the city by the tourists. Also the functions which serve the inhabitants are pushed out by the functions for tourists. However the problems of the city should not discredit the management of the traffic in the city. The problems are the site effect of success of Venice as a tourist destination which follows the unique quality of the place. The examples of the solutions which base on the rejection of the domination of the car in the space of the city one can find also in other places, where the rejection of the hegemony of the cars does not have such a total scale as in Venice. Such examples can be found also in Poland. Different space relations cause different relations between different users, as well as different relations between spending time in the city and passing it through.W kształtowaniu przestrzeni zazwyczaj przyjmowane są standardy wynikające z przyjętych powszechnie rozwiązań mających zaspokajać ludzkie potrzeby. Niestety często środki okazują się ważniejsze niż cele. Dążąc do zapewnienia mobilności i jednocześnie ochrony przed uciążliwościami transportu ogromne przestrzenie przeznacza się na wyalienowane z otoczenia trasy komunikacyjne i przestrzenie izolujące. Są jednak inne rozwiązania. Spektakularnym przykładem jest Wenecja – miasto, którego spora część jest niedostępna dla samochodów. Zatem pozbawiona jest związanych z ich obecnością uciążliwości, ale także możliwości wykorzystania ich w wielu różnych celach. W Wenecji w rolach w większości świata zarezerwowanych dla samochodów występują różnego rodzaju łodzie i statki. Warto zwrócić uwagę na szereg codziennych sytuacji z funkcjonowania części Wenecji pozbawionej samochodów. Zastępuje je nie tylko transport wodny, ale także pieszy. Znaczenie dla codzienności Wenecji ma także kameralna skala pieszych placów i uliczek. Wenecja boryka się z problemem utraty mieszkańców wypieranych przez turystów, oraz wypierania funkcji służących mieszkańcom przez przeznaczone dla turystów. Jednakże te problemy nie powinny dyskredytować organizacji przestrzeni w mieście. Są one bowiem skutkiem ubocznym sukcesu turystycznego wynikającego z wyjątkowej jakości miejsca. Przykłady rozwiązań opartych na odrzuceniu podporządkowania przestrzeni samochodom można znaleźć także w wielu innych miejscowościach, na terenie których odrzucenie dominacji samochodu nie przybrało takiej skali jak w Wenecji. The relative wavelength independence of IR lags in active galactic nuclei: implications for the distribution of the hot dust

We show that, contrary to simple predictions, most AGNs show at best only a small increase of lags in the J, H, K, and L bands with increasing wavelength. We suggest that a possible cause of this near simultaneity of the variability from the near-IR to the mid-IR is that the hot dust is in a hollow bi-conical outflow of which we only see the near side. Although most AGNs show near simultaneity of IR variability, there was at least one epoch when NGC 4151 showed the sharply increasing IR lag with the increase of the wavelength. This behaviour might also be present in GQ Comae. We discuss these results briefly. The relative wavelength independence of IR lags simplifies the use of IR lags for estimating cosmological parameters.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures, for the Odessa Astronomical Publicatio

Cosmic ray records in Antarctic meteorites

The cosmogenic radionuclides Be(10), Al(26), and Mn(53) and noble gases were determined in more than 28 meteorites from Antarctica by nuclear analytical techniques and static mass spectrometry, respectively. The summarized results are listed. The concentrations of Al(26) and Mn(53) are normalized to the repective main target elements and given in dpm/kg Si sub eq and dpm/kg Fe. The errors stated include statistical as well as systematical errors. For noble gas concentrations estimated errors are 5% and for isotopic ratios 1.5%. Cosmic ray exposure ages T sub 21 were calculated by the noble gas concentrations and the terrestrial residence time (T) on the basis of the spallogenic nuclide Al(26). The suggested pairing of the LL6 chondrite RKPA 80238 and RKPA 80248 and the eucrites ALHA 76005 and ALHA 79017 is confirmed not only by the noble gas data but also by the concentrations of the spallation produced radionuclides. Futhermore, ALHA 80122, clasified as an H6 chondrite, has a noble gas pattern which suggest that this meteorite belongs to the ALHA 80111 shower
