Análise da correspondencia entre Maruja Mallo e Alfonso Reyes (1938-1945)

Análisis del epistolario entre Maruja Mallo y Alfonso Reyes (1938-1945), contextaluzándolo con el marco espaciotemporal en que fue escrito y con el sistema relacional y profesional de la pintora y del escritor; comparándolo con la correspondencia que mantuvieron con otros intelectuales, y considerando la aportación de sus cartas para conocer la evolución de su obra y la actividad politicocultural de los exiliados. También se analiza el apoyo de ambos a la II República española. Analysis of the collected letters between Maruja Mallo and Alfonso Reyes (1938-1945), contextualizing them within the space-time framework in which they were written and within the relational and professional system between the painter (Maruja Mallo) and the writer (Alfonso Reyes). In this paper, these documents are compared with the correspondence they held with other intellectuals, and it takes into account how these letters contribute to get to know the evolution of their work, and the political and cultural activity of the people in exile. “Total and Radical Liberation”: The Religious and Philosophical Background of Volodymyr Vynnychenko’s Revolutionary Ideas

The article explores the religious and philosophical origins of Volodymyr Vynnychenko’s ideas of “honesty with oneself,” “omnilateral liberation,” and “concordism.” Two treatises, Vidrodzhennia natsii (Rebirth of a Nation, 1919–1920) and Konkordyzm. Systema buduvannia shchastia (Concordism. A System of Building Happiness, 1938–1945), illustrate the development of Vynnychenko’s worldview. In the first work, social revolution was considered as the answer to human problems, while, in the second, such a solution was found in becoming one with the universe. Despite his negative attitude towards religion, Volodymyr Vynnychenko actively used religious images and patterns in his writings. For instance, criticizing Christianity for its dogmatism, he nevertheless created his codex of thirteen rules of concordism, which had to harmonize the unbalanced forces of mankind with the universe. In this context, particular attention is paid to the significant influence of pagan concepts on Vynnychenko’s thinking

Brandýs nad Labem and Stará Boleslav 1938-1945

Diplomová práce "Brandýs nad Labem a Stará Boleslav 1938-1945" je zaměřena na popis vybraných aspektů ze života měst. Od událostí roku 1938, přes okupaci a období tzv. Protektorátu Čechy a Morava, až do období před povstáním v květnu roku 1945. Pro větší přehlednost je práce rozdělena do kapitol zabývajících se společenským a kulturním vývojem, proměnami městských samospráv, válečným průmyslem, odbojovým hnutím a válečnými událostmi, které zasáhly do života měst. Samostatné kapitoly jsou věnovány osudům židovské komunity a nástinu průběhu poválečného vyšetřování kolaborace v rámci Trestní nalézací komise. Závěrečná část práce je věnována pomníkům a pamětním místům českých i německých obětí války. Since events of the year 1938, through occupation and period called Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, till the time before revolt in May 1945. Due to better clarity, the thesis is divided into chapters dealing with social and culture progression, transformation of the town government, war industry, resistance movement and war events that intervene in the life in towns. Separate chapters dealed with the fate of the Jewish community, outline the course of the postwar investigation of collaboration and war monuments of Czech and German victims.
