    Ni Marlowe ni Sherlock: Violencia y novela policíaca en tres ejemplos centroamericanos

    Full text link
    A partir de los años de la posguerra centroamericana, que comienzan en la década de los 90, surge con fuerza el neopolicial en esta región aprovechando las tramas, el lenguaje y las estructuras del género policíaco para transformarlo y realizar una crónica en vivo de sus sociedades. La violencia se convierte en un elemento estructural de las obras con la que los personajes deben convivir de forma constante y soterrada. En este artículo analizaremos tres de las novelas más representativas de esta época en busca de esos elementos constitutivos de la novela policíaca y en función de la definición de violencia oblicua (1997) de Dante Liano y de violencia autotélica (2008) expuesta por Jan Philipp Reemtsm

    Corticotrophin-Releasing Factor (CRF) through CRF1 Receptor Facilitates the Expression of Morphine-Related Positive and Aversive Memory in Mice

    Get PDF
    Different studies have elucidated the mechanisms underlying the formation and expression of drug-related cue memories; corticotrophin-releasing factor (CRF) plays a critical role in reward- and aversion-driven associative learning. In the present chapter, we have evaluated whether CP-154,526, a selective CRF1 receptor (CRF1R) antagonist, or genetic deletion of CRF1R (KO mice) have comparable effects on conditioned place preference (CPP) and conditioned place aversion (CPA) learning. We also investigated CP-154,526 effects on morphine-induced CPP activation of CRF, CREB phosphorylation, and thioredoxin (Trx1) expression in dentate gyrus (DG), a brain region involved in memory consolidation, and the role of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenocortical (HPA) axis in CPA expression and extinction. The CRF1R antagonist abolished the acquisition of morphine CPP, Trx-1 and BDNF increased expression, and pCREB/Trx-1 co-localization in the DG. The increase in adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) plasma levels observed after CPA expression was attenuated in CRF1R KO mice, suggesting a role of HPA axis in aversive memories. Altogether, these results suggest a critical role of CRF, through CRF1R, in molecular changes involved in memory formation and consolidation and may facilitate the development of effective treatments for opioid addiction

    Software de gestión de recursos humanos: Indicadores de eficiencia

    Cada vez se hacen más necesarios criterios que pueden ser utilizados para identificar, medir y comparar el valor que añade a la gestión el uso de productos informáticos como los llamados "Sistemas integrales de gestión de recursos humanos". En este documento se establecen indicadores de eficiencia para estas herramientas informáticas y se aporta un modelo de evaluación de las mismas que permite, en primer lugar, el cálculo matemático del incremento de funcionalidad que aportan al negocio; en segundo lugar, cuantificar su impacto económico en los resultados de la organización, y finalmente, el cálculo de ratios financieros que facilitan el análisis de la inversión. Todo ello ayudará al director de recursos humanos a valorar inversiones de este tipo y le aportará los datos cuantitativos necesarios para argumentar su decisión como ajustada a la estrategia de negocio de su organización.gestion recursos humanos; indicadores eficiencia;

    How does a luxury wine framework applies and affects the internationalisation of wineries of the Vinho Verde Region?

    Get PDF
    This dissertation provides an analysis of a luxury wineries in the region of Vinho Verde by applying a framework developed by Beverland and also trying to understand how this impacts the internationalisation process. To do so the study proceeds with multiple interviews to two owners of wineries that position themselves and were also considered by their peers as luxury within the Vinho Verde Region. These two wineries are Anselmo Mendes and Quinta de Santiago. The concept luxury is one very transversal that can be found in every category of commodities. However when it comes to the wine segment, it can be perceived as one of the oldest due to the nature and history of this product that has been one of the most traded goods throughout the last centuries. When it comes to luxury wines, they have their own proper characteristics with aspects such as a slight difference in palate might lead to significant changes in pricing. Vinho Verde is a unique region in the world that has been struggling with the image of low cost wines and where more and more a segment of luxury has been developing. It is for these reasons that they provide the perfect background to build a case study about luxury wines of that particular region and their internationalisation. Regarding the wineries, the dissertation intends to show how they have been developing their own luxury products while also improving their internationalisation process. The final objective is to obtain findings that will not only provide new insights about the region and the luxury segment but also be attractive for future research and also bring awareness to the particularities of this segment in this special region of Portugal, the Vinho Verde Region.A seguinte dissertação fornece uma análise sobre uma estratégia de vinhos de luxo na região do Vinho Verde seguindo por isso uma estrutura definida anteriormente por Beverland e qual o seu impacto a nível do processo de internacionalização. Consequentemente, o estudo prossegue com entrevistas a dois proprietários de adegas que se posicionam e também foram considerados pelos seus pares como luxo na região do Vinho Verde. Estas duas adegas são portanto Anselmo Mendes e Quinta de Santiago. O conceito de luxo é bastante transversal e pode ser encontrado em todas as categorias de comódite. No entanto, quando se trata do segmento do vinho, este pode ser considerado como um dos mais antigos devido a toda a história deste mesmo produto que tem sido um dos bens mais comercializados ao longo dos últimos séculos. No que toca aos vinhos de luxo, estes têm as suas próprias características como, por exemplo, uma ligeira diferença no palato pode levar a mudanças significativas no preço. O Vinho Verde é uma região única no mundo e que tem enfrentado a imagem de vinhos de baixo custo e onde cada vez mais um segmento de luxo se tem desenvolvido. São estas razões que fazem desta região o pano de fundo perfeito para construir um caso sobre os vinhos de luxo dessa mesma região e os seus processos de internacionalização. Em relação às adegas, esta dissertação pretende mostrar como estas têm desenvolvido seus próprios produtos de luxo, além de melhorar seu processo de internacionalização. O objetivo final é obter resultados que não só proporcionem novos conhecimentos sobre a região e o seu segmento de luxo, mas também sejam atraentes para futuras pesquisas e que por acréscimo transmitam as particularidades deste segmento nesta região especial de Portugal, a região do Vinho Verde

    Consumers’ Purchasing Behavior Towards Fresh Meat in Davao City, Philippines

    Get PDF
    Meat remains one of the most consumed commodities throughout the world, and it has long occupied a special place in the food intake of consumers. In the Philippines, meat volumes are predicted to increase because of the rapid increase in population and the growth of the food service sector in the country. Understanding the purchase behavior of consumers for meat products is essential in addressing inefficiency and market issues in the meat industry. This study aimed to assess the purchase behavior of consumers towards the three major meat products (i.e., beef, dressed chicken, and pork) that are consumed in Davao City, Philippines. The key respondents of this study were household decision makers of the meat purchase. The study specified a choice model with a binary or dichotomous dependent variable representing the consumer’s final choice to be explained by a set of variables including socio-demographic and socio-economic factors. Results of the logistic regression model showed that beef purchase choice was significantly affected by average monthly income, working status, household size, number of employed household members, and number of children in the household. For chicken and pork purchase choice, area and number of employed household members were the factors significantly affecting consumer purchase decision. Following consumers’ fresh meat purchase decision, meat sellers may take advantage of the higher demand on beef for income class AB and the pork and chicken demand for income classes C and DE
