Nonverbal Communication Reconstruction on Facebook

Facebook provides users comfort in communicating even though they cannot see expressions or any other nonverbal signs, which have been an essential factor in supporting face-to-face communication. Therefore, this research is necessary because the absence of nonverbal communication, especially facial expression, touching, and gesture, renders the communication process between individuals ineffective and uncomfortable, as it was when people first used email to communicate via the internet. Through the study of Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC) perspectives, nonverbal communication, Social Presence Theory and Lack of Social Context Cues theory, this paper will discuss forms of nonverbal communication in the digital era. This study is based on research conducted by researchers using the netnography method and carried out through literature studies. The research was conducted on the Muslim community Bening Society on Facebook because the communication between them is very intense, as required in netnography. The loss of nonverbal communication in interpersonal communication does not, in fact, reduce netizens’ comfort in communicating and interacting. The emergence of digital emoticons and nonverbals is a substitute for nonverbal communication because digital emoticon and nonverbal functions in mediated interpersonal communication are the same as nonverbal communication

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai framing media mengenai kasus penganiayaan Mario Dandy. Meneliti framing dua media daring Antara News dan Tirto Id. Menggunakan model analisis framing Pan&Kosicki, dengan menganalisis pemberitaan selama periode Februari-April 2023, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Antara News menyajikan coverage berita yang objektif serta komprehensif dengan berfokus kepada berjalannya proses hukum atas kasus yang diberitakan. Sedangkan Tirto Id menyajikan coverage berita yang lebih kritis serta membuka informasi baru terkait dampak dari kasus yang terjadi terhadap pejabat serta lembaga yang terlibat. Feminisme menjadi suatu kajian sosial yang tidak pernah berhenti dibicarakan oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Tidak jarang feminisme dipandang dengan perspektif negatif, terutama jika dilihat melalui perspektif Islam. Kalis Mardiasih melalui Instagramnya hadir sebagai sosok perempuan yang dengan vokal menyuarakan isu feminisme bahkan mengkajinya dengan pandangan Islam. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melihat bagaimana resepsi khalayak terhadap konstruksi feminisme dalam akun Instagram @kalis.mardiasih. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teori analisis resepsi oleh Stuart Hall. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui wawancara secara mendalam dengan enam informan yang memiliki perbedaan latar belakang usia, pendidikan, domisili dan gender pada masing-masing individu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konstruksi feminisme yang dibangun Kalis Mardiasih melalui Instagramnya memberikan dampak pada perubahan pola pikir informan dalam memandang persoalan feminisme serta menambah wawasan seputar isu perempuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana fanatisme yang dimiliki oleh penggemar Manchester United, terutama yang tergabung dalam komunitas United Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori fanatisme dan pembentukan identitas diri serta menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Informan yang diambil merupakan anggota dari komunitas United Surabaya dan pengambilan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam dan juga observasi partisipan. Penelitian ini menjelaskan penggunaan gaya bahasa sarkasme netizen dalam kolom komentar tayangan YouTube Deddy Corbuzier bersama Agung Suprio yang berjudul “Gue Wakilkan Ribut Sama Ketua KPI!!! Dari Pelecehan Sampai Saipul Jamil”. Gaya bahasa sarkasme merupakan gaya bahasa kasar yang disampaikan penutur untuk meluapkan rasa jengkel, kecewa dan emosi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan bentuk serta tujuan bahasa sarkasme yang digunakan oleh netizen dalam kolom komentar tayangan YouTube. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis isi kualitatif dan dianalisis menggunakan data sekunder atau studi pustaka. YOUNG WOMEN DIGITAL COMPETENCE IN USING THE INTERNET IN SURABAYA

The growth in the number of netizens is now the impact of increasingly easy internet penetration and high penetration of social media that is easily accessed via smartphone gadgets. Research conducted by Candrasari (2016) states that female internet users cannot be separated from their social media. Within a day of 2-3 hours, his time is spent accessing digital media. Therefore digital competencies are needed for girls to avoid the negative effects of the internet. The purpose of this study is to get a picture of the competence of adolescent girls. Di awal tahun 2021 terdapat salah satu berita yang sempat menjadi headline di berbagai media yaitu berita mengenai pemberlakuan SKB 3 Menteri. Salah satu poin utama SKB 3 Menteri ini menyangkut peraturan mengenai penggunaan seragam dan atribut keagamaan di lingkungan sekolah yang menimbulkan berbagai respon dari masyarakat. Untuk menganalisis fenomena ini, maka digunakan teknik analisis framing yang melihat penekanan pada seleksi isu dan/atau penonjolan aspek-aspek tertentu dari realitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana pemberitaan mengenai SKB 3 Menteri tentang Atribut Sekolah ini dibingkai oleh Republika.co.id dan Kompas.com. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan paradigma konstruktivisme. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa Republika.co.id membuat bingkai bahwa SKB 3 Menteri merupakan peraturan yang bermasalah terutama ketika diterapkan di Indonesia sebagai negara yang berlandaskan asas Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa, sedangkan bingkai yang dibentuk Kompas.com yakni sebenarnya yang menjadi permasalahan terletak pada unsur pemaksaan pada penggunaan atribut agama yang tidak sesuai dengan keyakinan seseorang, bukan melarang pengggunaan seragam dengan atribut agama di lingkungan sekolah
