    THE INFLUENCE OF POE LEARNING (PREDICT OBSERVE EXPLAIN) MODEL ON THE UNDERSTANDING OF SCIENCE CONCEPT OF STUDENTS OF SMP NEGERI 32 SEMARANG

    This study aims to determine the influence of the POE (Predict Observe, Explain) learning model on understanding the student's science concept on the material and its application in daily life. This is due to research on using POE learning model to understand the concept has not done much. This type of research isquantitative experimentation with posttest only class experiment control design. The research method began from observation at SMP Negeri 32 Semarang, compiled a research instrument, execute learning with POE model, then analysis of research data and make conclusions. Data analysis results show that the experimental class classical submission was 77 while in the control class of 70. The results expressed the influence of POE learning models to understand the concept. The findings in this study have been the collation between the POE learning model of the understanding of the concept,learning model of the motivation to learn. The conclusion of this study was the influence of POE learning model of the conceptual understanding of 53.13% and the coleration of 43%. The advice of this research is that the use of POE-defecting models that affect students ' understanding can be used as a reference in enhancing the understanding of student concepts

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung perkalian dalam pembelajaran Matematika pada siswa kelas II SD Muhammadiyah Karangharjo Berbah, Sleman dengan menggunakan Metode Jarimatika. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research) dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas II SD Muhammadiyah Karangharjo Berbah, Sleman semester genap tahun ajaran 2010/ 2011 sebanyak 26 siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi guru dan siswa selama proses pembelajaran Matematika dengan menggunakan metode jarimatika, dan soal post test. Teknik aanalisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menerapkan Metode Jarimatika dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung perkalian dan kualitas proses pembelajaran. Hal ini dilihat dari data awal yang menunjukkan rata-rata kemampuan berhitung siswa pra tindakan sebesar 53,85 dengan pencapaian KKM 26,92%, pasca tindakan siklus I sebesar 62,69 dengan pencapaian KKM 42,31%, pasca tindakan siklus II sebesar 74,42 dengan pencapaian KKM 100%. Sedangkan proses pembelajaran Matematika sesuai dengan hasil observasi, pada siklus I siswa masih terlihat pasif dalam pembelajaran. Pada siklus II sebagian besar siswa aktif dalam proses pembelajaran setelah diterapkannya metode jarimatika dalam pembelajaran Matematika pokok bahasan perkalian. Ini berarti bahwa penggunaan metode jarimatika dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung perkalian pada siswa kelas II SD Muhammadiyah Karangharjo Berbah, Sleman.     This research aims to develop multi-representation teaching material that includes definitive,macroscopic, microscopic, and valid symbolic to determine students’ responses through multi-representation material. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Karangtengah, with subjects in class XI IPA 3. This research was applied to acid-base materials. The data obtained in this research are the results of expert validation and students’ responses tomulti-representation media teaching material: definitive, macroscopic, microscopic, and symbolic. The data retrieval was conducted by expert judgement method to determine the validity of teaching materials, and the questionnaire method to determine student response through multi-representation material: definitive, macroscopic, microscopic, symbolic was validated by three validators. The research outcome shows that multi-representation media: definitive, macroscopic, microscopic, symbolic valid with an average score of 62 from a total score of 75. The student responses through multi-representation material showed a positive response through the material

    Construct Validity and Reliability of Attitudes towards Chemistry of Science Teacher Candidates

    Developing students' positive attitude toward learning is one of the important things, because some researchers mention that attitudes toward the subjects are related to academic achievement. Teachers, in the implementation of learning can evaluate attitudes toward the subjects, in order to know how students' attitude toward learning that is/has been going on. Therefore, an attitude assessment is required for valid, reliable and practical learning. The purpose of this research is to develop a Likert scale type questionnaire that can measure students' attitudes toward chemistry. In this study initially has been compiled as many as 43 items. The items in the present scale were adapted from the Test of Science-Related Attitudes (TOSRA) and Attitudes towards Chemistry Lessons Scale (ATCLS). After the contents validation of the questionnaire by the expert, the questionnaire is tested on 245 college students. Determination of construct validity which is conducted with exploratory factor analysis obtained 32 items valid question. The result of factor analysis shows that the scale has nine factors that explain 62.105% of the total variance. In addition, it shows the finding of 'reliability coefficient (Cronbach' alpha) of 0.91. The results obtained showed that it has obtained valid and reliable questionnaires as a measuring tool that can be used to determine student attitudes toward chemistry in chemistry foodstuffs lectures

    Analysis Of Students’ Conceptual Understanding Assisted By Multirepresentation Teaching Materials in the Enrichment Program

    Thispurposeofthisresearchwastodeterminethestudents’conceptualunderstanding assisted by acid-base multi-representation teaching materials in the enrichment program. The type of research was case study that used combination of qualitative and quantitative methods by involving 49 second grade science students of State High School in Kudus who have passed/completed acid-base material. The sampling technique was carried out by purposive sampling. Conceptual understanding was analyzed using reasoned questions, namely three tier multiple choice test as pretest andposttest.Theresultsshowedthatstudents’conceptualunderstandingofacid-base material was considered as high category. Achievement of students’ conceptual understandinghasincreased,asseenfromtheresultsofstudents’pretestandposttest namely from 37% to 71%. Overall, enrichment learning assisted by multi-representation teaching materials is effective when used in learning so that the achievement of students’ conceptual understanding of acid and base material is categorized as high category.   Keywords: teaching material; multi representation; conceptual understanding; enrichment program

    Science Literacy Assessment Instrument for Additives and Addictive Substances: Development, Validation, and Rasch Model Analysis

    Science literacy is one of the areas of basic literacy that PISA focuses on. Science literacy is essence of learning in the 21st century. The purpose of this study is to develop and validate instruments to assess science literacy in the area of additives and addictive substances. The researcher refers to the modified PISA framework and Bloom's Revised Taxonomy. The developed instrument was tested for reliability and validity using the Aiken V method and the Rasch model. The research respondents consisted of 47 students from two junior high schools: a public school and a private school that has been accredited A. The results of the analysis showed that the instrument has validity. The results of the analysis showed that of the 25 items given there were 24 valid items, the resulting Cronbach's alpha value of 0.86 showed very good criteria, it can be concluded that the instrument has high validity and good reliability. This instrument is expected to be used to measure the quality of education and science literacy of students in Indonesia

    Latar Belakang: Leukimia limfoblastik akut sering ditemukan di rumah sakit umum dengan angka kejadian terbanyak yang menyerang pada anak-anak usia 2-6 tahun. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui asuhan keperawatan pada klien dengan Leukimia limfoblastik akut meliputi pengkajian, intervensi, implementasi dan evaluasi keperawatan. Hasil: Diagnosa yang muncul pada kasus adalah nyeri, gangguan nutrisi, gangguan pola tidur dan resiko tinggi infeksi. Setelah dilakukan asuhan keperawatan selama 3x24 jam didapatkan hasil nyeri pada klien sudah berkurang, nafsu makan meningkat, pola tidur klien teratasi dengan baik, dan resiko infeksi berkurang. Kesimpulan: Tindakan keperawatan yang dilakukan pada klien adalah dengan memberikan terapi analgesik dan massase dapat mengurangi nyeri dan pola tidur klien teratasi dengan baik, memberikan terapi diet sesuai program menyebabkan gangguan nutrisi tidak terjadi dan dengan menjaga personal hygiene resiko infeksi pada klien tidak terjadi

    The development aspect of children at preschool is important aspect which needs to be optimalized especially social personal. The development of children’s social personal can be seen in socialization, interaction, and independence of the children. Many factors influence the development, one of the fundamental is parenting. The objective of this research is to know the corelation between mother’s parenting and personal social development of preschool children in playgroup Baiturrahman Karangasem. The kind of this research uses analitic observational design and cross sectional approaching. The technique of taking sample used is non probability technique. It is total sampling. The sample consists of 48 respondents which are preschool children in playgroup Baiturrahman Karangasem and some their mothers. The tabulation data uses Spearman Rank analysis.The result of the univariate analysis shows the data as much 60,4% of parenting applied by the mothers is democratic and 68,7% of children social personal development is normal. The result of calculation corelation Spearman Rank shows p value (0,003) < α (0,05). It means there is corelation between mother’s parenting and personal social development of preschool children in playgroup Baiturrahman Karangasem. The suggestion to the next research needs to concern others factor which influence the development of children personal and mother’s parenting.     Hospitalization anxiet can arise because when the child care process is separated from his family he loves and from his social group. Anxiety can be derived by giving distraction, among others through audio, music, play therapy. Murotal therapy is an audio therapy that can provide serenity. This study aims to determine the effect of murotal therapy on hospitalization anxiety in children at RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta. This research was a quantitative research with pre experimental design and using one group research design pre post test design. This study was done in room Melati II RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta with a sample of 30 children aged 9-12 years who were determined using purposive sampling technique. The data collection used an anxiety questionnaire made by researchers referring to the T-MAS anxiety questionnaire and adjusted to the characteristics of the children then analyzed used paired sample t-test analysis. The result of paired sample t-test is significant (2-tailed) 0,001 smaller than P-value 0,05, so the test decision is Ho rejected and Ha accepted, so there is influence of murotal therapy to hospitalization anxiety in child. Murotal therapy has a significant effect on the decrease in anxiety of children who experience hospitalization. Children who experience anxiety during hospitalization are recommended given murotal therapy

    Good night's sleep is essential for the growth of the baby, because the baby's brain during sleep growth peaked. But in fact in one study found 51.3% of infants experienced sleep disturbances, 42% infant nighttime sleep less than nine hours, and at night the baby wakes up more than 3 times with old woke up more than an hour. One non-pharmacologic therapy to overcome the problem of sleeping baby is a baby massage. This study aims to determine the effect of massage on babies with sleep quality infant aged 0-6 months in Puskesmas Kartasura. This research method is analytical use case control design. Collecting data using a questionnaire, while data analysis using Chi Square test. Chi Square test results obtained 2hitung value of 20.417 (p-value = 0.001) and the Value of odds ratios (OR) test of 15.00. The conclusion of the study there the effect of infant massage with sleep quality infant aged 0-6 months where infants who received infant massage likely to have a good sleep quality is 15 times higher than babies who do not get a baby massage
