"The following investigation has been performed within the Lorentz and CP T violating Standard Model Extension, an effective field theory that sets a quite general framework to quantify, at relatively low energies, effects to be expected from a higher energy formulation incorporating violation of Lorentz invariance. The discussion has been restricted to couplings occurring in the Yukawa sector of the renormalizable part of the Standard Model Extension studying the contributions to anomalous magnetic moment (AMM) and electric dipole moment (EDM) of charged leptons and nucleons which are invariant under Lorentz particle transformations, these effects are calculated and discussed. In a perturbative approach, treating Lorentz violating quadratic lepton couplings as two point insertions in Feynman diagrams, explicit expressions of leading contributions are derived and upper bounds on Lorentz violation coefficients from current data of AMMs and EMDs are estimated. For the lepton analysis, two scenarios involving these coefficients are examined. The scenario of two point insertions preserving lepton flavor, the bound on the electron EDM yields limits as stringent as 10−27, whereas muon and tau lepton have bounds as restrictive as 10−14 and 10−5, respectively"

Background: Temporary deafferentation (TD) is an approach that has been investigated in rehabilitation practices to improve motor function in people with spinal cord injuries. The overall goal of temporary deafferentation is to voluntarily reduce sensory input into the nervous system to improve efferent output. Temporary deafferentation is typically achieved using either topical or injectable anesthetics. Recently, our group sought to optimize a protocol for temporary deafferentation using topical anesthetic cream, and results suggested that temporary deafferentation was achieved 50 minutes after anesthetic cream application. Here, we aimed to determine if our optimized protocol impacted limb electromyography (EMG) after the intervention. We focused our study on the biceps and triceps muscles, due to future implementation in populations with upper limb motor disabilities. Method: Twenty healthy subjects were recruited to participate in a single-session study. Using LabChart, subjects\u27 electromyography (EMG; root-mean-square) of the biceps and triceps were assessed before and after intervention with temporary deafferentation and task training. Temporary deafferentation was achieved by applying 10 cc anesthetic cream to the subject’s right biceps for 50 minutes. Following temporary deafferentation, the subject completed 30 minutes of mild-to-moderate upper limb training tasks with their right arm. Results: An ANOVA to test the main effect of the intervention revealed that healthy participants’ triceps muscles excitability significantly decreased by a small to medium effect size, d = .31, F(1, 329) = 7.66, p \u3c .01. Descriptive analysis showed five out of twenty participants did improve after the intervention (d = .24), and fifteen did not (d = .49). Whether the intervention influenced triceps muscles excitability depended on participants, X2 = 352, p 1, BMI2, fat percentage3, and arm width4, p \u3c .001, including Male gender5, p \u3c .02. X2 = 179.191, 3522,3,4, 5.705. Conclusion: Results show the intervention improved triceps muscle excitability for selected healthy participants. Preliminary findings suggest the protocol’s ability to accelerate rehabilitative outcomes for people with upper limb motor disabilities, which will be examined in the next phase of the study; additionally, we aim to specify the main effect of TD, separating the task training effects

The retina and the choroids are richly vascularised structures and can therefore be colonised by germs via the haematogenous route in the course of a systemic infectious disease. The germs responsible for this type of infection can be fungi, viruses, bacteria and parasites. Ocular candidiasis is outstanding amongst these colonisations because of its frequency; it can manifest itself as an endophthalmitis with a slow and hidden course. The so-called ocular histoplasmosis syndrome, although it is infrequent in our setting, is an important cause of choroidal neovascularisation. The viruses that most frequently affect the retina are of the herpes type and can produce devastating symptoms in immunoincompetent patients, named acute retinal necrosis syndrome. Retinitis due to cytomegalovirus is more frequent in immunodepressed patients, as in the case of AIDS, but it must also be contemplated in patients with lymphoma and immunomodulatory treatment. The most frequent bacterial diseases that affect the retina are syphilis and tuberculosis. Disease due to cat scratches, caused by a borrelia, can produce a neuroretinitis. Toxoplasmosis is the most common of the infectious diseases caused by a parasite and gives rise to chorioretinitis. Toxocariasis, also caused by a parasite, is second in importance, giving rise to choroidal granulomas and retinal tractions

The influence of CoCl2 and CdCl2 on the activity of isocitratlyase, malatsynthase and succinate dehydrogenase in the seedlobes at early stages of germination of soybean seeds was investigated. CoCl2 increased isocitratlyase activity at 3-d day and CdCl2 suppressed isocitratlyase activity at the 1-st day. Salt of metals has no influence on malatsynthase activity. CoCl2 and CdCl2 suppressed succinate dehydrogenase activity at 5-th day that may be caused by oxidative stress

CHARGE syndrome and related disorders:A mechanistic link

CHARGE syndrome is an autosomal dominant malformation disorder caused by pathogenic variants in the chromatin remodeler CHD7. Affected are craniofacial structures, cranial nerves and multiple organ systems. Depending on the combination of malformations present, its distinction from other congenital disorders can be challenging. To gain a better insight into the regulatory disturbances in CHARGE syndrome, we performed RNA-Seq analysis on blood samples of 19 children with CHARGE syndrome and a confirmed disease-causing CHD7 variant in comparison to healthy control children. Our analysis revealed a distinct CHARGE syndrome pattern with downregulation of genes that are linked to disorders described to mimic the CHARGE phenotype, i.e. KMT2D and KDM6A (Kabuki syndrome), EP300 and CREBBP (Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome) and ARID1A and ARID1B (Coffin-Siris syndrome). Furthermore, by performing protein-protein interaction studies using co-immunoprecipitation, direct yeast-two hybrid and in situ proximity ligation assays, we could demonstrate an interplay between CHD7, KMT2D, KDM6A and EP300. In summary, our data demonstrate a mechanistic and regulatory link between the developmental disorders CHARGE-, Kabuki- and Rubinstein Taybi-syndrome providing an explanation for the overlapping phenotypes

Firstly, it is important to mention that in the poultry sector, environmental management has been strengthened to improve environmental performance in productive activities, providing small and large aviculturists with the possibility of implementing strategies to optimize their processes, allowing them to achieve competitive production in the market and sustainable in relation to the use of natural resources. Thus, in the present work a Nariñense company dedicated to the production and commercialization of chicken meat is made known, from which it reserves its name in order to safeguard the information and apply the principle of reliability. This company committed to its customers and suppliers to provide quality products; It has a qualified staff and a production system based on the highest standards of biosafety and good manufacturing practices that guarantee a clean, innocuous and unpolluted environment in all processes, from production, slaughter, packing, distribution and transportation. However, the daily activities of this company cause negative effects to the environment. For this reason, it is feasible to implement an environmental management system that avoids, mitigates and / or compensates for harmful impacts on the environment and human beings, contributing to the continuous improvement and reduction of pollution. Finally, I emphasize to mention that the development of the productive processes of the poultry project generates negative impacts on the environment, which lead to a deterioration of natural resources. Therefore, it is necessary to implement alternatives aimed at improving the environmental performance of the project, through the implementation of environmental management plans strengthening their processes effectively and efficiently, achieving an innovative, sustainable and quality production that satisfies the interested parties

Several studies have shown that nurse mentors experience the education's learning outcomes as generally defined. An R&D-related collaborative project was therefore launched. Part 1 involved the development of a local curriculum in collaboration with nurse mentors. Part 2 involved a systematic evaluation study focusing on the use of local curricula. The aim was to investigate the importance of local curricula as a tool for clarifying learning outcomes in clinical studies. The study is qualitative with an exploratory and descriptive design based on four focus group interviews with nurse mentors from different levels of the bachelor's education. The analysis process was based on thematic analysis. The findings were: Varying experiences with implementation of local curriculumClarify current learning situationsVarying use in assessment situationsThe nurse mentors experienced the description of learning situations as relevant and recognizable. The local curricula was a good tool in the process assessment of the students. 3.Varierende bruk i vurderingssituasjoner.
