    THE PORTRAYAL OF ANDROGYNOUS SOCIETY IN THE LEFT HAND OF DARKNESS BY URSULA K. LE GUIN

    The present study entitled The Portrayal of Androgynous Society in The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin attempts to analyze the construction of androgyny through the major androgynous characters. The study was conducted in order to explore the concept of gender identity which was portrayed in the novel. Gender criticism approach proposed by Bressler (2007) was used as the theoretical framework which aimed at investigating gender in the production of literature. The study found that there were two types of androgynous characters which were rooted from the traditional gender-based orientation: masculinized and femininized androgynous. There was an indication that those types of construction destabilized the concept of androgyny. Thus, the novel failed to portray the characters who were supposed to have no tendency towards any traditional gender identities. Penelitian menemukan dua tipe tokoh androgini yang berakar dari orientasi gender tradisional: masculinized dan femininized androgynous. Terdapat indikasi bahwa dua jenis karakter androgini tersebut telah membuat konsep yang tidak stabil. Maka dari itu, novel ini telah gagal dalam menggambarkan tokoh-tokoh yang seharusnya tidak memiliki kecenderungan terhadap identitas gender tradisional.     Perancangan Sistem Informasi Pengelolaan Skripsi (Studi Kasus pada Biro Skripsi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta)

    Essay data management implementation is now done in the Biro Skripsi Faculty of Medicine, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta still manual so that the information process was very time consuming and labor intensive. This can increase the chance of error in the delivery of information, which ultimately becomes inaccurate information. Information needed but difficult to obtain, among others, student information data that does thesis, student information data submitted the title essay, the student data do guidance, monitoring faculty guidance information data to the data execution thesis trial. In this study illustrated activity stream now and the activity flow system to be designed, all depicted in the form of a flowchart to determine the stages of activity that must be passed, a flow diagram of a system or activity diagram modeling the workflow (workflow) is a business process and sequence of activities in a process , While the system design phase consists of making a Use Case Diagram and Sequence Diagram, database creation of the determination of the entity with Conseptual Data Model (CDM) and pysical Data Model (PDM), User Interface design and application programming using PHP, HTML, and JavaScrpt. The results achieved in this study is an information system for the management of the thesis at the Bureau Thesis Faculty of Medicine, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta, which contains about the implementation process of the thesis includes data management students and professors, information paper and printing files thesis, as well as the registration process of the review of proposals until trial pendadaran. The information system can be accessed by multiple users simultaneously via intranet or internet connection. Through this system, information can be presented with a fast, accurate, relevant and up to date. Keywords: information systems, essay, biro skripsi, system design ABSTRAK Pengelolaan data pelaksanaan Skripsi yang sekarang dilakukan di Biro Skripsi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta masih bersifat manual sehingga proses penyampaian informasi banyak menyita waktu dan tenaga. Hal ini dapat memperbesar peluang terjadinya kesalahan dalam penyampaian informasi, yang pada akhirnya informasi menjadi tidak akurat. Informasi yang dibutuhkan namun sulit didapatkan antara lain data informasi mahasiwa yang melakukan skripsi, data informasi mahasiswa mengajukan judul skripsi, data mahasiswa melakukan bimbingan, data informasi dosen memonitoring bimbingannya sampai data pelaksanaan sidang skripsi. Pada penelitian ini digambarkan alur aktivitas sekarang dan alur aktifitas sistem yang akan dirancang, semua digambarkan dalam bentuk flowchart untuk mengetahui tahapan aktivitas yang harus dilalui, diagram alir sistem atau activity diagram memodelkan alur kerja (workflow) yaitu sebuah proses bisnis dan urutan aktivitas dalam suatu proses. Sedangkan tahap perancangan sistem terdiri dari pembuatan Use Case Diagram dan Sequence Diagram, pembuatan database dari penentuan entitas dengan Conseptual Data Model (CDM) dan Pysical Data Model (PDM), perancangan User Interface dan pembuatan program aplikasi menggunakan PHP, HTML, dan JavaScrpt. Hasil yang dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah sistem informasi untuk pengelolaan skripsi pada Biro Skripsi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta yang berisi tentang proses pelaksanaan skripsi meliputi pengelolaan data mahasiswa dan dosen, informasi skripsi dan pencetakan berkas-berkas skripsi, serta proses pendaftaran dari review proposal sampai sidang pendadaran.     The purpose of the study was to assess students in terms of subjects at MI Attahiriyah II to be more effective and efficient in the data input process. There have been no errors in the calculation of student course scores. Document storage is more effective in order to make it easier for employees to input data on student learning scores at MI Attahiriyah II. From the results of the ongoing analysis, there are problems in terms of assessment of report cards such as the management of subject matter and the search and renewal of subject matter that is less effective and wastes a lot of time on this. With the existing problems the author makes an application for the report card assessment system at MI Attahiriyah II using desktop java programming which is intended both for students who need data quickly and efficiently such as material questions, grades and data for both students and teachers

    Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Instruction (PBI) Dengan Jobsheet Pada Mata Pelajaran Gambar Konstruksi Bangunan Kelas XI SMK Negeri 7 Surabaya

    Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, dan hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Instruction (PBI) dengan Jobsheet pada mata pelajaran Gambar Konstruksi Bangunan kelas XI SMK Negeri 7 Surabaya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre experimental design dengan desain penelitian one shot case study dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas XI TGB SMK Negeri 7 Surabaya tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, dan angket. Analisis data pada penelitian ini adalah analisis keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dan analisis hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Instruction (PBI) dengan Jobsheet didapatkan hasil rata-rata total dari semua aspek yaitu sebesar 84,5% oleh guru dan 87,3% oleh siswa. Keduanya termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Hasil belajar siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Instruction (PBI) dengan Jobsheet memperoleh rata-rata nilai kelas sebesar 86,03. Dari perhitungan didapat nilai thitung sebesar 10,58 dan ttabel sebesar 1,697. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan rata-rata hasil belajar menggambar pondasi siswa kelas XI TGB setelah pelaksanaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Instruction (PBI) dengan Jobsheet lebih besar atau sama dengan 75 (dapat diterima).Kata kunci: Model Pembelajaran PBI, Media Jobsheet, Hasil Belajar, Gambar Konstruksi BangunanAbstract This study aims to determine the implementation of learning and student learning outcomes by using Problem Based Instruction learning model with the jobsheet on the subject of Building Construction Drawing at class XI SMKN 7 Surabaya. Research method used is pre experimental design with one shoot case study design. The subjects of the study were students of class XI TGB SMKN 7 Surabaya of the 2017/2018. The instruments data collection use tests, and questionnaires. Data analysis in this study is the analysis of the implementation of learning and analysis of the students learning outcomes. The result showed the implementation of learning by using Problem Based Instruction learning model with the jobsheet obtained the result of the total average of all aspects of 84,5% by teachers and 87,3% by students. Both fall into very good category. Student learning outcomes using Problem Based Instruction learning modelwith the jobsheet obtained an average grade value of 86,03. From calculationgot value from tarch equal to 10,58 and ttable equal to 1,697. So, it can be concluded that the average of learning result of drawing the foundation of students class XI TGB after the implementation of Problem Based Instruction learning model with the jobsheet is greater than or equal to 75 (can be accepted).Keywords: PBI Learning Model, Jobsheet, Learning Outcomes, Building Construction Drawin

    KAJIAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN LEARNING CYCLEDENGAN TIGA TEKNIK HANDS-ON BERDASARKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP DAN KEMAMPUANINKUIRI SISWA SMU PADA KONSEP HUKUM NEWTON TENTANG GERAK

    Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji model pembelajaran Learning Cycle dengan tiga teknik Hands-on berdasarkan pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan inkuiri siswa. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan empat model pembelajaran, yaitu model konvensional yang merupakan model pembelajaran yang biasa dilaksanakan dalam kebanyakan pembelajaran sains, tiga model pembelajaran Learning Cycle dengan tiga teknik Hands-on dengan urutan kombinasi teknik yang berbeda. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan subyek terdiri dari empat kelas. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes tertulis, lembar observasi, rekaman audiotape, transkripsi, dan angket. Pengolahan datadilakukan dengan uji Anova satu jalur dan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan rata-rata hasil belajar yang signifikan antara model pembelajaran konvensional dan tiga model pembelajaran Learning Cycle dengan tiga teknik Hands-on (p = 0.000), tidak terdapat perbedaan rata-rata hasil belajar antara ketiga model pembelajaran Learning Cycle dengan tiga teknik Hands-on (pFB = 0.543, pFD = 0.721, dmpBD = 0.992), model pembelajaran Learning Cycle dengan tiga teknik Hands-on tidak dapat membedakan tingkat kemamampuan siswa kategori tinggi, sedang, dan rendah (p = 0.086), model pembelajaran Learning Cycle dengan tiga teknik Hands-on dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep baik berdasarkan konsep target (15.8% - 42.6%) maupun label konsep (0.9% - 24.1%) dan dapat mendorong terjadinya perubahan pemahaman konsep siswa baik berdasarkan konsep target (15.4% - 42.6%) maupun label konsep (0.5% - 30.9%). Kemampuan inkuiri yang dominan muncul adalah kemampuan bertanya terhadap obyek/fenomena yang dihadapkan pada siswa (67%), karakteristik teknik menunjukkan bahwa teknik Guided Worksheet Activity lebih efektif diterapkan dilihat dari segi waktu, teknik Challenge Exploration Activity dan Open Exploration Activity merupakan teknik yang efektif dalam menumbuhkan sikap kreatif, keterlibatan dalam kelompok, memecahkan masalah, motivasi belajar, berhipotesis, dan penggunaan pengetahuan awal.     Development Trend Physics Mobile Learning In 21St Century: A Systematic Literature Review

    This study aims to analyze the development of the design and implementation of mobile learning in physics learning. This research has been conducted via a systematic literature review research. The research subjects consisted of fifty journal articles selected from the Scopus Index database, Web of Science (WOS), Google Scholar, or ERIC from 2012 to 2022. The data have already been analyzed related to the year of publication, research objectives, and physics concepts used. The results of this study showed that the number of studies has increased over the years. In addition, the use of Physics Mobile Learning can have a positive impact on increasing students' various abilities. Most of the concepts that have been utilized are in the material of sound waves, Newton's laws, physical quantities and measurements, heat, momentum impulses, and gas laws. As a consequence, the learning media can be textbooks inter-actively. Thus, the development of Physics Mobile Learning needs to facilitate in complex and modern ways

    Teaching Solar System Topic through Predict-Observe-Explain-Apply (POEA) Strategy: A Path to Students’ Conceptual Change

    The misconception of the Solar System topic is still found in students so that it becomes one of the obstacles in the learning process. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of Predict-Observe-Explain-Apply (POEA) learning to change the junior high school students' conception in the Solar System topic. Quasi-experimental research with the non-equivalent control group design was conducted in one of the private junior high schools in Bandung city. Samples were selected based on the test of the average significance of the pretest score of the population. Furthermore, 30 students of the experimental class and 32 students of control class were selected. The research instrument, which consisted of 15 four-tier diagnostic test questions about Solar System were used to collect data before and after treatment. The tests were analyzed quantitatively by using the Mann-Whitney statistical test to determine the significance of the difference in the acceptable conception changes (Acceptable Change) of students in the experimental class with changes in the conception of students in the control class. The results of the research show that the implementation of POEA learning is significantly more effective than POE learning in changing the conception of Solar System topic. The findings of this study can be an alternative for junior high school teachers in planning learning about the Solar System, especially in an effort to change students' misconception about the Solar System

    EFEKTIVITAS MODEL ICARE UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KREATIF ALAT OPTIK

    ABSTRAKTujuan pendidikan pada saat ini adalah untuk mendidik individu yang dapat memecahkan suatu permasalahan yang mereka temui dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Salah satu keterampilan yang dibutuhkan untuk memecahkan permasalahan yaitu keterampilan berpikir kreatif. Keterampilan berpikir kreatif merupakan salah satu cara berpikir yang dibutuhkan dalam kehidupan kerja dan masyarakat di abad 21, yang harus dilatihkan kepad apeserta didik Ketika proses pembelajaran. Namun kenyataannya, keterampilan berpikir kreatif ini jarang sekali dilatihkan kepada peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran. Maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran ICARE untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif peserta didik pada materi alat optik. Digunakan metode penelitian semu (quasi experiment) dengan desain one group pretest posttest. Instrumen penelitian berupa soal uraian sebanyak 12 soal yang sudah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah 24 peserta didik, dengan mengunakan teknik analisis data gain ternormalisasi untuk melihat peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kreatif dan uji effect size untuk mengetahui efek dari model pembelajaran ICARE. Hasil penelitian berupa nilai gain ternormalisasi sebesar 0,44 yang termasuk kategori sedang dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Selanjutnya diperoleh hasil uji effect size untuk keterampilan berpikir kreatif sebesar 3,47 yang termasuk pada kategori tinggi. Hasil ini menunjukan bahwa model pembelajaran ICARE efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif peserta didik pada materi alat optik. Kata kunci: model pembelajaran ICARE; keterampilan berpikir kreatif; alat optik ABSTRACTThe purpose of education is to guide students to solve problems in real life. One of the skills needed to solve problems is creative thinking skills. Creative thinking skills are one of the ways of thinking that a person needs in work life and society in the 21st century. However, in reality, these creative thinking skills are not trained to students in the learning process. So, this study aims to apply the ICARE learning model to improve the creative thinking skills of class XI SMA students on optical instrument material. A quasi-experimental research method was used with a one-group pretest-posttest research design. The instrument in this study was 12 questions that were reliable and valid in terms of descriptions of creative thinking skills and were given a score of 1-4 in accordance with the assessment rubric. Participants in this study were 24 students, with data analysis techniques using N-Gain and the effect size to determine the effect of the ICARE learning model. The result of this research is a normalized gain value of 0.44 which is included in the medium category with a significance level of 0.05. Furthermore, the effect size test results obtained for creative thinking skills of 3.47 which are included in the high category.     ‘Ilm al-kalam or in short the kalam focuses on the fundamental aspects in Islam. This science is important, and it should be used as a guideline in conducting Islamic studies. Essentially, the kalam offers the metaphysical and theological realm, the transcendental domain and future direction; its openness and rational thinking characteristics are necessary and useful for humans; it is not a very rigid discipline of a theoretical science. We need the adamant efforts and the courage to rethink and reconstruct the heritage endowed to us by the scholars of kalam in the past. In other words, it is probably necessary to make a new "ijtihad" because after all the “ijtihad” of the scholars in the past is still considered until now as a good standard in the tradition of Islamic thought. The need for the new ijtihad is due to the new ideologies and approaches associated or linked with Islam and Islamic missionary plans, organizations and activities involving Muslims as well as non-Muslims in the 21st century
