TESTING THE WEAK FORM EFFICIENCY OF VIETNAMESE STOCK MARKET DURING 2010 - 2016

    Get PDF
After the financial crisis considerably affected the economy of developed countries, investors started to pay attention towards fast developing emerging markets. The study focuses on examining the presence of the weak-form efficiency for the Vietnamese stock market from 2010 to 2016. Using the relationship between the Efficient Market Hypothesis and the Random Walk Theory, three approaches are applied for the test of the independence of daily stock returns of Vietnamese stock index (VNI) and 10 representative stocks listed in Ho Chi Minh stock exchange (HOSE), namely: autocorrelation tests, runs tests and variance ratio tests. Collected data includes above stock returns from January 2010 to September 2016 and is divided into two cycles (January 2010 – January 2014 and January 2014 – September 2016). Although autocorrelation tests and runs tests show efficient sign of some stock returns in the second subsample, variance ratio tests reject the null hypothesis of random walk theory and market efficiency. As a result, the weak form efficiency of EMH does not hold for the Vietnamese stock market in the period of over more than 5 years 2010 – 2016.fi=OpinnĂ€ytetyö kokotekstinĂ€ PDF-muodossa.|en=Thesis fulltext in PDF format.|sv=LĂ€rdomsprov tillgĂ€ngligt som fulltext i PDF-format

    Get PDF
In the current context of a major revolution in the Vietnamese education system, teachers’ perception of happiness makes an important criterion in evaluating effectiveness of the changes made to educational programs. The initial investigation of the positive effects of this renovation was conducted on the scale of Nam Dinh province and the results show multidimensional sources of information. In addition to positive information, there is still information that raises many questions for leaders to pay attention to. The outcome of the investigation suggests the evaluation of “The job is meaningful” is 3.10 out of 5 points, which is the lowest in assessment criteria. Meanwhile, the rates for “Completely disbelieve” and “Slightly disbelieve” in happiness of their profession in the future take up a large proportion (24.4%). However, other criteria namely “Being satisfied with current position” and “Feeling motivated with the job” received higher evaluation scores, respectively 4.05/5 points and 4.11/5 points. Via the results of the research, the author is looking forward to appropriate actions taken by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam with a view to enhancing the perception of happiness among teachers

Quality properties Of Vietnamese cocoa liquors

    Get PDF
Vietnam (VN) is an emerging country targeting cocoa as a potential industrial domain. It is however still unclear how the quality of VN cocoa liquors can be positioned in the world cocoa supply. Three VN cocoa liquors exhibiting high to intermediate acidity (pH: 4.7 – 5.2) were selected to produce dark chocolate (48.0% sugar, 17.6% cocoa solids, 34.0% cocoa butter and 0.4% lecithin). A comparison study was conducted to investigate the difference between VN and Ghanaian (GH; pH: 5.6) dark chocolates in terms of Casson flow properties (yield stress sCA and viscosity hCA), hardness (F 20°C and F 30°C), water-soluble organic acid content, aroma profile and sensory evaluation. The impact of pre-treatments of cocoa liquor by ball-milling at different fat contents and conching (-C) was also examined

STUDY ON FLUORINATION AND HYDROGENATION IN TRANSPARENT CONDUCTING ZINC OXIDE THIN FILMS

    Get PDF
Fluorination and hydrogenation are known as two methods for enhancing crystalline structural and electrical properties of ZnO material. The ZnO thin films normally require a low resistivity and a high transmittance for using as high-performance transparent electrodes in optoelectronic applications. In this study, we report successful preparation of fluorinated and hydrogenated ZnO thin films (FZO and HFZO) by using d.c. magnetron sputtering technique. The hydrogenation was carried out by depositing the films in hydrogen plasma atmosphere, while a highly-sintered body of ZnO and ZnF2 compound was employed as a sputtering target for the fluorination. The results show that the strong improvements in carrier concentration, mobility and resistivity of the FZO and HFZO films as compared to the pure ZnO films. The carrier concentration increases to 2x1020 cm-3 which is mainly due to the hydrogenation. The effect combination of the fluorination and the hydrogenation is responsibility for enhancing the mobility up to 43 cm2/Vs. These results give rise to two-order reduction in resistivity, from 0.06 Ohm.cm (ZnO) to 7.5x10-4 Ohm.cm (HFZO), which can be a good choice for thin-film electrode application. In addition, the crystalline structure and optical transmission of the films are also discussed

Background: Agar is a common polysaccharide found in nature. However, agar is strongly resisted to the degradation processing, leading to limitation of its application in various areas. Thus, finding an effective solution for agar saccharification significantly improves the economically effects of agar based substrates. Methods: Soil samples were collected from TienPhong Forestry Ltd. Company, ThuyXuan District, ThuaThien Hue province, Vietnam. Potential agar degrading bacteria were screened on a mineral salt agar medium. The isolate was identified based on 16S rRNA nucleotide sequence, morphological, physiological, and biochemical characteristics. Agarase production was evaluated by modification culture conditions including incubation time, shaking speed, and initial inoculum size. Molecular mass of extracellular agarase was determined by native SDS-PAGE. The effect of pH, temperature, metal ions, and organic solvents were conducted for enzyme characterization. Application of enzyme was investigated on seaweed saccharification.Result: An agar degrading bacterial strain was isolated from soils and identified as Bacillus sp. AT6. Maximal agarase accumulation obtained in the culture containing an inoculum size of 10% (v/v), shaking speed of 210 rpm, and 96 hours incubation. The agarase revealed a single band on zymogram analysis with an apparent molecular weight of 180 kDa. The optimal temperature and pH were 40°C and pH 8.0, respectively. All tested metal ions and organic solvents partially decreased enzyme activity. Treatment seaweed by agarase resulted in reducing sugars release present in the reaction, indicating the saccharification of seaweed was succeeded. Conclusion: Bacillus sp. AT6 is a new report of agarolytic bacteria that produces extracellular agarase enzymes. The present results promise strain AT6 is a great candidate for agar saccharification for industrial application
