Nematodos de la subfamilia Criconematinae (Nematoda: Criconematidae) en la España peninsular

Se realiza un estudio de las caracteristicas morfológicas y morfométricas de los nematodos de la subfamilia Criconematinae encontrados en España peninsular, se describen machos de Seriespinula allieri y se incluye una clave para la identificación de las especies encontradas.Se han encontrado trece especies pertenecientes a los géneros Criconema, Croserinema, Crossonema, Ogma y Seriespinula. Las especies de la subfamilia Criconematinae aparecen con mayor frecuencia en los ecosistemas naturales que en los cultivos. Crossonema menzeli sólo se ha encontrado en hayedos, C. multisquamatum aparece en cítricos y Criconema mutabile en cultivos horticolas del sur peninsular y en frutales en la mitad norte peninsular.A morphological and morphometrical study of the nematodes from subfamily Criconematinae in Peninsular Spain is carried out, male of Seriespinula allieri is reported and a key for identification of species found is provided. Thirteen species have been found belonging to the genera Criconema, Croserinema, Crossonema, Ogma and Seriespinula. The species of Criconematinae appear mostly in natural ecosistems. Crossonema menzeli has been found only in beech forests, C. multisquamatum in citrus orchards and Criconema mutabile in vegetables crops in Southern Spain and in fruit orchards in the half Northern of Spain

Large scale anisotropies on halo infall

We perform a statistical analysis of the peculiar velocity field around dark matter haloes in numerical simulations. We examine different properties of the infall of material onto haloes and its relation to central halo shapes and the shape of the large scale surrounding regions (LSSR). We find that the amplitude of the infall velocity field along the halo shape minor axis is larger than that along the major axis. This is consistent for general triaxial haloes, and for both prolate and oblate systems. We also report a strong anisotropy of the velocity field along the principal axes of the LSSR. The infall velocity field around dark matter haloes reaches a maximum value along the direction of the minor axis of the LSSR, whereas along the direction of its major axis, it exhibits the smallest velocities. We also analyse the dependence of the matter velocity field on the local environment. The amplitude of the infall velocity at high local density regions is larger than at low local density regions. The velocity field tends to be more laminar along the direction towards the minor axis of the LSSR, where the mean ratio between flow velocity and velocity dispersion is of order unity and nearly constant up to scales of 15 Mpc/h. We also detect anisotropies in the outflowing component of the velocity field, showing a maximum amplitude along the surrounding LSSR major axis.Comment: 12 pages, 9 figures, accepted for publication in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Societ

Group Leaders Optimization Algorithm

We present a new global optimization algorithm in which the influence of the leaders in social groups is used as an inspiration for the evolutionary technique which is designed into a group architecture. To demonstrate the efficiency of the method, a standard suite of single and multidimensional optimization functions along with the energies and the geometric structures of Lennard-Jones clusters are given as well as the application of the algorithm on quantum circuit design problems. We show that as an improvement over previous methods, the algorithm scales as N^2.5 for the Lennard-Jones clusters of N-particles. In addition, an efficient circuit design is shown for two qubit Grover search algorithm which is a quantum algorithm providing quadratic speed-up over the classical counterpart

Is increased antidepressant exposure a contributory factor to the obesity pandemic?

To view a copy of this license, visit http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Major depressive disorder (MDD) and obesity are both common heterogeneous disorders with complex aetiology, with a major impact on public health. Antidepressant prescribing has risen nearly 400% since 1988, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In parallel, adult obesity rates have doubled since 1980, from 15 to 30 percent, while childhood obesity rates have more than tripled. Rising obesity rates have significant health consequences, contributing to increased rates of more than thirty serious diseases. Despite the concomitant rise of antidepressant use and of the obesity rates in Western societies, the association between the two, as well as the mechanisms underlying antidepressant-induced weight gain, remain under explored. In this review, we highlight the complex relationship between antidepressant use, MDD and weight gain. Clinical findings have suggested that obesity may increase the risk of developing MDD, and vice versa. Hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis activation occurs in the state of stress; concurrently, the HPA axis is also dysregulated in obesity and metabolic syndrome, making it the most well-understood shared common pathophysiological pathway with MDD. Numerous studies have investigated the effects of different classes of antidepressants on body weight. Previous clinical studies suggest that the tricyclics amitriptyline, nortriptyline and imipramine, and the serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor mirtazapine are associated with weight gain. Despite the fact that selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) use has been associated with weight loss during acute treatment, a number of studies have shown that SSRIs may be associated with long-term risk of weight gain; however, because of high variability and multiple confounds in clinical studies, the long-term effect of SSRI treatment and SSRI exposure on body weight remains unclear. A recently developed animal paradigm shows that the combination of stress and antidepressants followed by long-term high-fat diet results, long after discontinuation of antidepressant treatment, in markedly increased weight, in excess of what is caused by high-fat diet alone. El proyecto académico del Boletín Momento Económico (nueva época) ha Alcances y 18 limitaciones de la nacionalización de los hidrocarburos en Bolivia mantenido una especial atención a las condiciones en las que se desenvuelve el modelo económico que desde hace más de tres décadas se ha impulsado en México, en escala macro, sectorial y de política económica. En artículos elaborados por miembros del GACEM y por diversos académicos invitados, se ha abierto la controversia sobre la urgente necesidad de un nuevo rumbo en el desarrollo económico y social de México. Las actuales condiciones del país han puesto de relieve que la polémica no está agotada y que, por el contrario, es indispensable profundizar en ella. En virtud de lo anterior, en este número presentamos el artículo sumario del documento "Lineamientos de política para un crecimiento sustentable y la protección social universal” (versión resumida), elaborado por Rolando Cordera Campos, Profesor Emérito de la UNAM, en el que se parte de la consideración de que México requiere construir un rumbo de desarrollo diferente. En esta nota, además de señalar las profundas dificultades del entorno global, se procede a presentar las pautas a seguir sobre el empleo y crecimiento, se propone un régimen de protección social universal; se aborda la educación, ciencia y tecnología, así como lo referente a la reforma hacendaria y financiera, el desarrollo productivo, la infraestructura y dimensión regional y la seguridad energética y protección ambiental. El Análisis cualitativo de datos con ATLAS.ti

Este artículo presenta las características, el procedimiento y la utilidad práctica del análisis de datos cualitativos en el proceso de investigación. Se trata de una tarea enormemente compleja para «dar sentido» a datos muy ricos y densos de significados en los estudios de carácter cualitativo. El trabajo describe cómo aplicar una herramienta informática, el ATLAS.ti, a este procedimiento analítico para su mayor sistematicidad, así como la mejor explotación y optimización de los resultados obtenidos. Se opta por un enfoque metodológico y con valor orientativo sobre el desarrollo autónomo de las tareas comunes del análisis de datos, como son la codificación y la categorización, la construcción de redes semánticas para la generación teórica, y la obtención de resultados parciales para plasmar en los informes de investigación

Evaluación del Proyecto Epikouros de Inserción Sociolaboral de Inmigrantes

El proyecto Epikouros del Ayuntamiento de Barcelona representa un modelo de servicio específico de orientación para la inserción sociolaboral dirigido a personas procedentes de la inmigración exterior y con situación socioeconómica deficitaria. El proyecto pretendía responder a las necesidad peculiares que estas personas tienen en su proceso de inserción sociolaboral en la ciudad de Barcelona. Su finalidad fue acercar a los colectivos, asociaciones y personas inmigrantes los distintos servicios de inserción sociolaboral normalizados del Ayuntamiento de Barcelona, a la vez que facilitar la coordinación y adaptación de éstos a las necesidades diferenciales que tiene esta población. El proyecto atendió a un total de 235 personas inmigrantes
