Contributos das actividades práticas em ciências para a inovação pedagógica e didáctica no ensino das ciências: perspectivas dos professores

Dissertação mest., Biologia e Geologia, Universidade do Algarve, 2007It is the aim of this study to know the perceptions of a group of teachers of the ?3? Ciclo do Ensino B?sico? about the contribution of practical activities in Science for the pedagogic and didactic innovation in teaching this discipline. In order to do so, a group of teachers of those school levels was interviewed. The interview, applied individually to the six subjects who make up the sample, was a semi- structured one. The collected data were the object of a qualitative analysis and the results show that this group of teachers validates the official curriculum of Physical and Natural Sciences for those levels of education, especially in what concerns the compulsory implementation of practical scientific activities, suggesting implementation through scenarios favouring mainly cooperative and constructivist working methods, but also recognizing the importance of the more interactive forms of the delivery mode of teaching . Simultaneously, the subjects recognise the importance of scientific activities as a valuable practice for the process of teaching and learning, not only because of their intrinsic qualities, but also because they give the students the possibility of learning how to learn, of thinking scientifically and developing important attitudes and competences, stimulating students and teacher to become more autonomous and more motivated for practicing action-research. The study also reveals the subjects? perceptions about some of the aspects they think can make the implementation of scientific activities in class easier or more difficult. In the first group of factors, the very nature of science and the scientific attitude of the teacher stand out; the latter factors consist, mainly, of the length of curricula, the poor logistics and the reality of classes at our schools. Finally, there is a discussion of the conclusions of this study, where innovative aspects found in the practice of scientific activities, and consequences of their application, are analysed. The real classroom situation, according to the teachers? perception, is confronted with the ideal situation. Finally, a reflection is made on the meaning of the present study, as well as some suggestions for further investigation

Redes sociais como recurso didático – ensaios no ensino da Geografia da UP

A banalização do acesso às tecnologias de informação e comunicação exige mudanças nas estratégias de ensino-aprendizagem, sob pena de inviabilizar os designios da educação. Enquadrada na perspetiva do conetivismo de Siemens (2005), este exercício centra-se no espaço de formação do 1º ciclo em Geografia da Universidade do Porto e a metodologia passa pela análise comparativa da resposta dos estudantes à disponibilização de recursos e estratégias didáticas em sessões presenciais (face to face) e no Facebook. Concluiu-se que a utilização desta rede constituiu um reforço no sucesso dos estudantes

Ensaio sobre o (anti)”Natal” de José Saramago

Discute-se a relação pessoal do escritor José Saramago com a festa cristã do Natal. Demonstra-se que a literatura dos 1900 aborda a ocasião muitas vezes subvertendo sua tradicional mensagem positiva, cunhada sobretudo no século anterior. Verifica-se que as aparições da data na produção saramaguiana seguem esse viés que lhe é contemporâneo e, por fim, alcança-se um texto intitulado “Natal”, conto de enredo que a princípio escapa ao tema anunciado em seu título, produzido por um ainda jovem Saramago (certamente no fim da década de 1940) e cuja leitura é o objetivo final deste ensaio

Olhares, pensamentos e ações de jovens indígenas Guarani e Kaiowá da Reserva Indígena de Dourados, Estado de Mato Grosso do Sul, Brasil

O presente texto propõe uma reflexão sobre o processo de participação política dos jovens indígenas Guarani e Kaiowá da Reserva Indígena de Dourados, Estado de Mato Grosso do Sul, Brasil. Um dos objetivos é descrever a partir da análise das iniciativas de ações deste “novo sujeito político”, autodenominado de “adolescentes e jovens indígenas”, sobre o processo de articulação e mobilização, diante de uma situação de extrema violência a que foram submetidos. Estes sujeitos estão dialogando, sobretudo, com o espaço virtual, ilustrado pelas redes sociais na rede mundial de computadores. Utilizam estas novas tecnologias em favor da luta de seu povo na busca pela efetivação de seus direitos fundamentais. Desta forma, as ações destes jovens e adolescentes indígenas, destacam-se em movimentos de resistência e passam a estabelecer seu protagonismo. // The present text proposes a reflection on the process of political participation of young indigenous Guarani Kaiowá from the Indigenous Reserve of Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. One of the objectives is to describe, reflect from the analysis of actionsand initiatives of this “new political subject” calling itself the “indigenous adolescents and young people,” on the process of coordination and mobilization, in a situation of extreme violence they have undergone. These subjects are in dialogue, especially with the virtual space, illustrated by social networks on the World Wide Web. RUA DA ALFÂNDEGA, 123: UM ESQUECIDO ENDEREÇO DOMICILIAR DE MACHADO DE ASSIS?

Many addresses where Machado de Assis lived are known to his biographers, but it seems likely that others are still unknown. From the discovery of a record in a newspaper at the time, this research seeks to ascertain whether the writer would have inhabited Rua da Alfândega 123 in 1867. In the absence of other direct evidence, parallel information is sought that could disprove the data, without result that disappointed him. In addition, an investigation is carried out on the property, in order to understand its plan and check if it still exists in Rio de Janeiro today. Finally, this space is related to a passage from Machado's narrative work.Sus biógrafos conocen muchas direcciones donde vivió Machado de Assis, pero parece probable que aún se desconozcan otras. A partir del descubrimiento de un registro en un periódico de la época, esta investigación busca determinar si el escritor habría vivido en 1867 en la Rua da Alfândega 123. En ausencia de otra evidencia directa, se busca información paralela que pueda refutar los datos. el que no encontró ningún resultado que lo decepcionaría. Además, se lleva a cabo una investigación en la propiedad con el fin de entender su plano y verificar si el edificio aún existe en Río de Janeiro en la actualidad. Finalmente, la calle se relaciona con un pasaje de la obra narrativa de Machado.Muitos endereços em que viveu Machado de Assis são conhecidos por seus biógrafos, mas parece provável que outros estariam ainda incógnitos. A partir da descoberta de um registro em jornal da época, essa pesquisa busca averiguar se o escritor teria habitado em 1867 na rua da Alfândega 123. Na falta de outras evidências diretas, buscam-se informações paralelas que possam vir a desmentir o dado, o que não encontrou resultado que o desabonasse. Além disso, procede-se a uma investigação sobre o imóvel, a fim de compreender sua planta e verificar se o prédio ainda existe no Rio de Janeiro atual. Por fim, o logradouro é relacionado com uma passagem da obra narrativa machadiana

O cânone e o contemporâneo em um conto fantástico de Teresa Veiga

Neste artigo, desenvolve-se uma leitura do conto “O maldito, Marianina, e o feitiço da Rocha da Pena”, que Teresa Veiga publicou na coletânea Uma aventura secreta do Marquês de Brandomín, em 2008. Nossa proposta considera que a narrativa estabelece uma discussão acerca da literatura fantástica tradicional oitocentista, porém, ciente da sua contemporaneidade, não se confunde com essa estética, como faria crer a princípio. Traz, por isso mesmo, em sua diegese, elementos pertinentes à manifestação do gênero do último século e, assim, problematiza também questões sociais e políticas contemporâneas, fazendo portanto uso do fantástico como modo de representação da realidade hodierna

A Quantified Community Disaster Management Strategy Assessment Model

The decision-making process is part of disaster management in communities. It is relevant to define how to allocate resources for the four phases of the events: mitigation, preparation, response, and recovery. The design, selection, and justification of disaster management strategies require objective evaluations of multiple potential improvements. Such analyses must identify the best solutions according to the hazard characteristics, improvement benefits and costs, and the benefits of faster implementations. The current work proposes a Disaster Management Strategy Assessment Model that quantifies the disaster's expected costs, following the mitigation plan's characteristics and the event's nature. The model supports the decision-making process by aiding disaster management strategists' thinking around various investment options and the resulting projected costs for those scenarios. The main goal is to provide alternative comparisons to support disaster management, covering the lack of a tool with clarity about all calculation’s steps

A literatura fantástica do século XX e a representação do real

This article discusses how the Fantastic Literature of the twentieth century, which the poetics of Franz Kafka would be the starting point, promotes, in spite of the construction of an unusual world, mimetic representation of the real, here metonymically figured in the modern urban space, home of today’s man. Thus, this genre is argued in its execution nineteenth century as an important means of discussion of issues relevant to contemporary life. To this end, recovers, as an allegory of the test developed here, the flâneur’s image, character whose function is to read the metropolis and that in our essay is to represent the analytical look that Fantastic Literature post-Kafka aims release about reality.Este artigo discute como a Literatura Fantástica do século XX, da qual a poética de Franz Kafka seria o marco inicial, promove, a despeito da construção que empreende de um mundo insólito, a representação mimética do real, aqui metonimicamente figurado no espaço urbano moderno, lar do homem hodierno. Desse modo, defende-se esse gênero, em sua efetivação novecentista, como importante via de discussão de questões pertinentes à existência contemporânea. Para esse fim, recupera-se, como alegoria do ensaio aqui desenvolvido, a imagem do flâneur, em vias de extinção já desde de meados do XIX, personagem que tem por função a leitura da urbe e que vem em nosso ensaio representar o olhar analítico que essa Literatura Fantástica pós-Kafka sói lançar sobre a realidade
