En el umbral de lo desconocido : un caso de visión extraordinaria en la España de Primo de Rivera

En este artículo analizamos las reacciones suscitadas entre científicos e intelectuales sobre un caso sensacional: la supuesta visión a través de materiales opacos por parte del hijo del marqués de Santa Cara, que atrajo la atención de la sociedad española alrededor de 1924. Algunos conocidos científicos e intelectuales como Cabrera, Torres Quevedo, Gimeno y Valle-Inclán, certificaron la autenticidad del fenómeno. El trabajo trata de comprender los motivos de este hecho, recogiendo las teorías que se barajaban en la época en torno a nuevos tipos de rayos y desconocidas capacidades psíquicas. En el contexto de la España dominada por el Régimen primoriverista, dos ingenieros avanzaban explicaciones metapsíquicas de signo patriótico, mientras que el marqués usó su posición social para avalar el caso y promocionar su labor científica en el terreno de la metapsíquica. Sin embargo, el prodigioso aristócrata y sus promotores vivieron un serio revés a partir del encuentro con el famoso ilusionista Houdini y la crítica del psiquiatra Rodríguez Lafora quien interpretó la hazaña como producto de la sugestión

Organic sheep breeding on the Causse Méjan: challenges and drawbacks of organic breeding in a national park in France

This work highlights the ecological stakes and the drawbacks associated with the development of organic lamb production on the Causse Méjan, a calcareous plateau, part of which is included in the Cévennes National Park (PnC). It analyses the tensions underlying a valorisation project for organic lambs by a small group of stockbreeders that is supported by the national park because of the ecological quality of their practices. On the one hand, since breeders are highly dependent on the ecological characteristics of the environment, they are forced to multiply their marketing channels and to invest a great deal of energy to obtain good prices for their meat whose characteristics do not match the current standards of quality (homogeneity, clear meat). On the other hand, the Pac can neither fully support these stockbreeders whose practices are marginal at the local level without straining its relationships with mainstream local breeders, nor overstep its role as the protector of nature. Considering this unattractive context and the interesting economic outlooks offered by the mainstream breeding system, which options will the young breeders of the future choose? Supporting a microexperiment like this one appears to be an important step for the development of new production models that combine economic profitability and ecological effectiveness

Experiences from a winter school on landscape agronomy: Stakes, difficulties, perspectives

International audienceIn the latest fifteen years, agronomic research has shown a growing interest for studies which link farm or field scale to landscape scale. Thus, agronomy is called to renew its research questions and methodologies, and as well its educational programmes. In this context, some French and Italian researchers interested in these topics, coming from different scientific fields but sharing interests on landscape scale issues in research and higher education, decided to join their efforts around a common one-week educational programme on Landscape Agronomy for undergraduate and PhD students. Their aim has been to develop a new form of knowledge transfer and application on Landscape Agronomy approaches to students of SSSA-Pisa (IT) and of the PhD School of ABIES-AgroParisTech-Paris (FR). The educational programme consisted of three phases : 1) some theoretical contributions supported by presentations on : issues regarding agriculture and farming practices at landscape level, main approaches on environmental functions of agriculture, changes in farmers practices driven by environmental questions,spatial organization of agricultural activities, role of farming in ecological dynamics, identification of complementarities among agro-environmental functions, environmental impacts of cropping systems,biodiversity influence on agro-ecosystem functions and vice-versa ; 2) two case-studies: a macro level one(at landscape scale) to analyse the role of agriculture on landscape dynamics, and a micro level one (at farm scale) to analyse farming practices and their environmental impacts ; 3) a final evaluation of the educational programme based on : contents of oral presentations on fieldwork results, global evaluation of the educational programme contents by all the participants, each individual ex-post analysis of fieldwork results. The evaluation of the students and teachers underlines benefits, requests and perspectives for education in landscape agronomy. Furthermore, this experience stimulated a collective conceptual and methodological debate that confirmed the necessity to favour and organise experience exchanges on researching and learning in landscape agronomy

Les métiers flous du développement rural

Avec la notion de développement sont apparus des « nouveaux métiers » qui se caractérisent par une prescription globale très vague, une ambiguïté des rôles en particulier en relation avec les élus locaux, des statuts bricolés et des parcours irréductibles aux carrières de fonctionnaires. A partir d'un suivi des agents de développement rural sur trois décennies, l'article met en évidence que, si l'autonomie de ces agents est d'abord liée à une phase d'invention liée au glissement de l'aménagement au développement et de recomposition des partages entre sphère publique et privée, l'ambiguïté des rôles perdure et se diffuse jusqu'aux parcours professionnels du fait de conditions sociales de l'emploi particulières : en l'occurrence, dans un contexte de co-financement de l'action publique territoriale, la formation d'un couple entre un élu désireux d'investir un territoire intercommunal et un agent de développement qui se « créée son poste » en captant diverses subventions. Impact de l’organisation sur la définition d’une profession au sein du SAMU : le cas des assistants de régulation médicale

National audienceWithin the Emergency Medical Service (EMS), Medical Regulation Assistant (MRA) are in the front line when it comes to managing emergencies. MRA is the first point of contact to take charge of callers. This feature, in the heart of the functioning and prerogatives of EMS is at the crossroads of medical emergency services in the covered area. Even if the objectives and prerogatives of MRA are set nationally, it appears that the skills and responsibilities associated with this function may vary from one region to another and from one EMS to another. In our work, we propose to question the ARM professionalization process by conducting an ethnographic survey and interviews within the EMS from the Arras Hospital. It will highlight the process by which MRA build their own skills and knowledge. We also show that this improving professionalism is literally described in the documents produced by the sector. Furthermore, professionalism requires constant adaptation to the technical, organizational and territorial constraints. This issue is being addressed in the EQU 2 project (Ethics, Quality, Emergency) which is a collaboration of two laboratories (GERIICO and STL, University of Lille) and the EMS from the Arras Hospital.Au sein du SAMU, les assistants de régulation médicale (ARM) sont en première ligne lorsqu’il est question de gérer les urgences. L’ARM est le premier interlocuteur à prendre en charge les appelants. Cette fonction, au cœur du fonctionnement et des prérogatives du SAMU est donc au carrefour des services de prise en charge médicale d’urgence de la zone couverte. Si les objectifs et les prérogatives des ARM sont définies nationalement, il s’avère que les compétences et les responsabilités associées à cette fonction peuvent varier d’une région à l’autre, d’un SAMU à l’autre. Dans le cadre de nos travaux, nous proposons de questionner le processus de professionnalisation des ARM en menant une enquête ethnographique et des entretiens au sein du SAMU du centre hospitalier D’Arras. Dans cet article, il s’agira de mettre en lumière le processus par lequel les ARM construisent eux-mêmes des compétences et des savoirs. Nous montrerons également que cette professionnalisation, qui s’inscrit textuellement dans les documents produits par le secteur, nécessite une constante adaptation aux contraintes techniques, territoriales et organisationnelles.
