    UTILIZATION AND EMPOWERMENT OF SCHOOL LIBRARY FOR STUDENTS IN GRADE XI ACADEMIC YEAR 2010/2011 IN SMK N 2 DEPOK

    This research aims to 1) understand the utilization of the school library for students in grade XI academic year 2010/2011 at SMK N 2 Depok 2) know the empowerment of the school library for students in grade XI academic year 2010/2011 at SMK N 2 Depok. This is considering the institution of education should provide learning resources. Learning resources which is referred to the school library. In terms of improving the quality of education, the library had a role as a provider of essential learning resources. The existence of libraries is not optimal in the utilization and empowerment. This research is a descriptive research to collect information on the status of an existing symptoms, which is symptoms under any circumstances the existence during research which aims to create a systematic explanation, factual, and accurate information on the facts and the properties of a particular population or region. Respondents in this research were 165 students in grade XI. The research data obtained of student questionnaires and documentation about the library. The number of samples in this research are determined by using proportional random sampling. The validity of the instrument based on the judgment experts as much as two people and reliability measured using Cronbach alpha formula. The methods to analyze the data is descriptive quantitative method. The results showed that the utilization of the library is still less for the collection of library materials (6.67%) and internet facilities (20%). This is because the less interesting collections and the Internet are often disconnected. Respondents use the the library as a place of discussion (46%). Utilization of the collection is still less due to the empowerment of the library was still less realized for students. the library promotion efforts for students not yet been done (80%). In this case, promotional efforts can be made according to the ability of schools such as providing brochures and procurement of school the library-themed events.     Dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran guru harus dapat memilih dan menggunakan beberapa metode mengajar yang sesuai. Metode tutor sebaya sangat tepat dalam membantu siswa memecahkan masalah. Hal tersebut, menarik untuk dikaji dalam bentuk penelitian. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) bersifat kolaboratif antara peneliti dan guru kelas IV yang membantu pelaksanaan penelitian. Subyek penelitian dalah guru dan siswa kelas IV SDN 01 Jatipurwo yang berjumlah 17 siswa. Adapun prosedur penelitian, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian mampu menjawab rumusan masalah, mencapai tujuan penelitian dan membuktikan hipotesis penelitian, yaitu: Pendekatan tutor sebaya dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika materi penjumlaha dan pengurangan pecahan melalui pendekatan tutor sebaya pada siswa kelas IV semester II SDN 01 Jatipurwo kecamatan Jatipuro tahun pelajaran 2010/2011. Dibuktikan dengan hasil analisis data rata-rata hasil belajar siswa meningkat. Dari hasil perbaikan pembelajaran pada siklus I ada 58,8 % yang tuntas belajar meningkat menjadi 70,6 % pada siklus II dan pada siklus III ketuntasan hasil belajar meningkat menjadi 94,1 %. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran melalui metode tutor sebaya dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SDN 01 Jatipurwo tahun pelajaran 2010/2011. Penerapan pendekatan tutor sebaya memberikan manfaat bagi peningkatan pemahaman siswa dalam kualitas pembelajaran, misalnya: keberanian siswa untuk bertanya dan menyampaikan pendapat meningkat, siswa terpusat pada pembelajaran, dan nilai hasil belajar siswa meningkat

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca menulis permulaan melalui media realia pada siswa kelas II SD Negeri Karangwaru 1, Plupuh, Sragen tahun pelajaran 2012/2013. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas II SD Negeri Karangwaru I Plupuh Sragen yang berjumlah 25 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data di gunakan adalah observasi, dokumentasi,dan tes unjuk kerja. Validitas data yang digunakan adalah triangulasi data dan triangulasi metode. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah model analisis interaktif yang mempunyai tiga buah komponen yaitu reduksi data, sajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan atau verifikasi. Hasil penelitian tindakan kelas ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan membaca menulis permulaan siswa dari skor rata-rata pratindakan sebesar 54,95 dengan persentase ketercapaian ketuntasan sebesar 57%, meningkat menjadi 63,92 dengan persentase ketercapaian ketuntasan kelas sebesar 60% pada siklus I. Meningkat lagi menjadi 72,38 dengan persentase ketercapaian ketuntasan kelas sebesar 88% pada siklus II. Simpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media realia dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca menulis permulaan pada siswa kelas II SD Negeri Karangwaru 1, Plupuh, Sragen tahun pelajaran 2012/2013. The purpose of this research is to improve preliminary reading writing skills of students by using realia media in grade II of State Primary School 1 of Karangwaru, Plupuh sub-district, Sragen in the academic year 2012/2013. This research used the classroom action research method which lasts on two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four phases, namely: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the research were the students in Grade II of State Primary School of Karangwaru, Plupuh sub-district, Sragen as many as 25 students. The data of the research were gathered from observation, documentation, and presentation test. The data were validated by using data source and method triangulations. They were then analyzed by using the interactive model of analysis comprising three components, namely: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the research show that prior to the treatment, the class average score on the preliminary reading writing skills is 54.95 with the minimum learning completeness of 57%. Following the treatment, the class average scores become 63.92 with the minimum learning completeness of 60% in cycle I, and 73.38 with the minimum learning completeness of 88% in cycle II respectively. Based on the results of the research, a conclusion is drawn that the use of realia media can improve preliminary reading writing skills of students in grade II of State Primary School 1 of Karangwaru, Plupuh sub-district, Sragen in the academic year 2012/2013. In practice there are several barriers experienced that came from the caregivers, and foster children such as: relationships influences from within and outside the orphanage, and the amount of caregivers is less than the amount of foster children. Although the implementation of the responsibility of strengthening character through democratic parenting is less than the maximum but the responsibility is always shown in the form of foster children in everyday life, such as: 1) responsibility to God, for example by carrying out obligatory prayers, 2) responsibility self as body hygiene and 3) responsibility for the orphanage, for example, always keep the good name of the orphanage

    The purpose of this research is to developing a leadership model of Tionghoa Ethnic in West Java, through a survey at Fuqing Association in West Java. The study was using a purposive sampling technique in selecting 4 (four) Fuqing Association in West Java, in Bandung, Bogor, Cianjur and Sukabumi. A purposive sampling also applied in selecting respondents. A Collecting Data Technique was using a questionnaires and interviews. An Exploratory Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis were used to analyzing Tionghoa’s Ethnic leadership model in West Java. Exploratory Factor Analysis was used to examine a research model consists of 8 (eight) leadership dimension. A confirmatory factor analysis with partial least square method was used to re-examine a result models. The results of research is a West Java Tionghoa ethnic leadership models, namely Confucius Sunda Leadership Model. A Confucius Sunda Leadership Model describes a charismatic leader figure which protecting, leads people, assisting and encourage his followers to achieve an organization’s vision and mission together. A Confucius Sunda Leadership Model has its contribution in developing a leadership theory

    This research is background by the emergence of learning barriers (learning obstace) which is epistemological. This research is a qualitative research by using research methods of didactic design (Disactical Design Research). The data collection techniques in this research is using triangulation with learners in the 4-third grade as a research subjects to identify learning obstacle, and the students of class 1-first grade for the implementation of the didactic design. The results showed that there is a learning obstace on the concept of pedestal partner and triangle high, then didiactic design arranged based on learning obstacle and relevant learning theories, in general response that had been given by learners appropriate with predictions, and the didactic design is potentially to be able to develop the ability of conceptual understanding

    The Analysis Of English Native Speaker And Esl Texts Using Fars Approach

    This research was a comparison of ESL\u27s and native speaker (NS)\u27s texts in achieving a coherent text. This study aims at investigating the frequency or the number of occurrence of relations, hierarchical structures, and functional relations; paratactic and hypotactic and also to find out the recursiveness occurrences within schema constructed as well as the explicitness of signalling from the two texts analyzed. Both texts were scrutinized based on FARS approach. Each of the texts was segmented into several segments, categorized based on FARS relations and determined in terms of functional relations. The findings indicate that the ESL learner\u27s text was the hypotactic relation which tends to dominantly use cohesive devices or conjunctions within the text in order to elicit a coherent text. On the other hand, there is an equal number of paratactic and hypotactic relation in NS\u27s text as it shows the dominant use of elaborative relation in the text. Referring to recursiveness occurrence, text 1 (NS) has three highest occurrences of recursiveness; Elaboration Amplification, Framing and Elaboration Extension, while text 2 (ESL) has two occurrences; Elaboration Amplification and Framing. Then, in text 1, it is implicitly comprehended that the writers apply implicit signalling beyond the clauses indicated by the low occurrence of conjunctions which shows higher English proficiency of the writers. However, text 2 does not employ any implicit signalling identified by higher number of conjunctions employment beyond the clauses. All of these features found in the texts are possibly linked to the linguistic, type of texts and cultural backgrounds of the writers

    Decentralization and Local Government Borrowing in Indonesia

    In this paper, we examine the decentralization reforms now underway in Indonesia, focusing on their effects on local government borrowing. Our general conclusion is that the laws and their implementing regulations seem designed mainly to deal with macroeconomic considerations of the central government, and not to create a system to allow local governments to gain access to credit markets. Indeed, this seems likely to be a reasonable immediate goal, given that the pre-conditions for successful local government borrowing are not currently present in Indonesia. However, the long run goal must remain the creation of a viable framework in which local governments face hard budget constraints but are still able to have access to capital markets. It is here where the current framework in Indonesia is inadequate. To this end, we suggest a number of policies that will help in a transition period from the current reliance on direct administrative control of local borrowing to a greater reliance on market discipline policy. In the next section, we briefly discuss the current macroeconomic conditions of Indonesia, and outline the major features of Laws No. 22/1999 and 25/1999, including their provisions that deal with local government borrowing. In section III, we present a general "framework" that establishes some conditions under which different approaches to local government borrowing can be successful, and we apply this framework to local governments in Indonesia in the section IV.
