Este artículo analiza la participación del sacerdote Francisco Carrascón en la revolución de Cuzco en 1814. Se presta especial atención a sus escritos que animaban a la independencia y a la creación de una patria peruana con el fin de profundizar en su pensamiento y conocer sus ideales revolucionarios. Finalmente se estudia el proceso militar al que fue sometido y su sentencia.This article analyzes priest Francisco Carrascon’s participation in the revolution of Cuzco in 1814. Particular attention is paid to his writings that encouraged independence and the creation of a Peruvian homeland, in order to allow a profound study of his thought and discern his revolutionary ideas. Finally we study the military trial to which he was subjected and his subsequent sentence

Software for determining dripline irrigation pipes using a Pocket PC

This communication presents the development of a freeware for mobile devices (Smartphone and Pocket PC). It was developed with a LabVIEW program, and enables engineers and installers to calculate commercial diameters to be used in laterals of drip irrigation, without the need for being at the personal computer. Input data required: drippers flow rates, number of drippers, spacing between the drippers, medium pressure in the lateral and pressure tolerance. As results, it shows commercial diameters that can be used with diode LED, maximum and minimum pressures for each lateral, and a graphic that shows, on a comparative, wether it exceeds each lateral of the pressure tolerance or not

[ES] El siguiente TFG pretende realizar el estudio teórico-práctico para generar pares de carga variables con máquinas asíncronas trifásicas trabajando en modo freno, mediante el método del frenado dinámico por inyección de corriente continua en el estátor. Artículo de la sección: EstudiosDe un tiempo a esta parte el estudio de las bibliotecas particulares se ha convertido en una valiosa fuente para la Historia de la Cultura y para la Historia de las Ideas. Este trabajo sobre la biblioteca del ilustrado Francisco de Saavedra, segundo intendente de Caracas, permite profundizar en el conocimiento de su formación humanística, inquietudes y gustos literarios. Los más de 800 títulos que engrosan dicha biblioteca reflejan el espíritu liberal de su propietario, su talante intelectual, su admiración por las letras francesas o su interés por los temas candentes de la época: viajes, desarrollo tecnológico, fomento económico, etc. Aspectos todos ellos bien representados con títulos señeros.Some time ago the study of private libraries was recognized as a valuable source of information about the history of culture and ideas. This study of the private library of Francisco de Saavedra, the second intendent of Caracas (18th century), allows us to explore the humanistic background, the literary tastes and the interests of this erudite. The outstanding collection of over eight hundred books reflects the liberal spirit of de Saavedra as well as his fondness for French authors and interest in the issues and events of his era, includi ng travel and technological and economic development.Departamento de Historia Moderna y de América, Universidad de Granada

Red viaria y consulado en Cuba

Artículo de la sección: *.El Consulado de Cuba acometió desde su creación una intensa política de infraestructura viaria, respondiendo así a las facultades que le otorgaba la Corona en este sentido. Por otro lado, su interés obedecía a móviles económicos relacionados con la producción azucarera. Este trabajo trata de poner de manifiesto el debate abierto en el seno de la institución consular sobre la forma de poner en práctica la construcción de caminos y los medios arbitrados para la obtención de los necesarios recursos financieros. Sus dirigentes, figuras destacadas de la sacarocracia cubana, trataban así de favorecer el cultivo de la caña y abaratar los costes de su comercialización. Tan vasto proyecto sólo logró plasmarse mínimamente, dejando pendiente la mejora de la red viaria en la isla hasta el momento de la introducción del ferrocarril.The consulate of Cuba undertook a strong policy of road infrastructure from the moment it was created, making use of the faculties granted by the Crown. On the other hand, its interest had to do with economic reasons related to the sugar production. This article tries to show the open debate hold inside the consular institution about how to put into practice the construction of roads and the ways to finance it. The leaders, mainly cuban aristocracy related to the sugar production, tried to favore the sugar cane growing and to reduce the price of commercialization. La conquista de América: cinco siglos de controversia y una leyenda negra omnipresente

La conquista de América suscitó un gran debate sobre su naturaleza, justificación y comportamiento de los conquistadores. La controversia fue planteada por los mismos españoles en el siglo XVI y alcanzó una enorme repercusión en Europa. Una de sus consecuencias fue la aparición de una imagen negativa de lo hispano, que luego se llamó leyenda negra. Hasta nuestros días resulta difícil acercarse al estudio de aquellos hechos sin la interferencia de esta. Por tanto, es pertinente interrogarse sobre los motivos de su constante actualidad a lo largo de los siglos y calibrar los pilares sobre los que se sostiene. La abundante bibliografía disponible en torno al tema revela, por otro lado, el alto grado de polarización en los enfoques y la intensidad del debate historiográfico que acompaña. Este trabajo intenta arrojar alguna luz en torno a esta cuestión. The conquest of America provoked a great debate about its nature, justification and about the behavior of the conquerors. The controversy was presented by the Spaniard themselves in the 16th century and reached a huge impact in Europe. One of its consequences was the appearance of a negative image of the Hispanic, called the black legend. Nowadays it is difficult to approach the study if those events without interference with this. It is therefore pertinent to wonder about the reasons for its constant current over the centuries and calibrate the bases on which it is held. The vast literature on the subject reveals, on the other hand, the high polarization on the approaches and the intensity of the historiographical debate that accompanies. This paper attempts shed light on this matter
