Modulation of attosecond beating in resonant two-photon ionization

We present a theoretical study of the photoelectron attosecond beating at the basis of RABBIT (Reconstruction of Attosecond Beating By Interference of Two-photon transitions) in the presence of autoionizing states. We show that, as a harmonic traverses a resonance, its sidebands exhibit a peaked phase shift as well as a modulation of the beating frequency itself. Furthermore, the beating between two resonant paths persists even when the pump and the probe pulses do not overlap, thus providing a sensitive non-holographic interferometric means to reconstruct coherent metastable wave packets. We characterize these phenomena quantitatively with a general finite-pulse analytical model that accounts for the effect of both intermediate and final resonances on two-photon processes, at a negligible computational cost. The model predictions are in excellent agreement with those of accurate ab initio calculations for the helium atom in the region of the N=2 doubly excited states

Two-photon finite-pulse model for resonant transitions in attosecond experiments

We present an analytical model capable of describing two-photon ionization of atoms with attosecond pulses in the presence of intermediate and final isolated autoionizing states. The model is based on the finite-pulse formulation of second-order time-dependent perturbation theory. It approximates the intermediate and final states with Fano's theory for resonant continua, and it depends on a small set of atomic parameters that can either be obtained from separate \emph{ab initio} calculations, or be extracted from few selected experiments. We use the model to compute the two-photon resonant photoelectron spectrum of helium below the N=2 threshold for the RABITT (Reconstruction of Attosecond Beating by Interference of Two-photon Transitions) pump-probe scheme, in which an XUV attosecond pulse train is used in association to a weak IR probe, obtaining results in quantitative agreement with those from accurate \emph{ab initio} simulations. In particular, we show that: i) Use of finite pulses results in a homogeneous red shift of the RABITT beating frequency, as well as a resonant modulation of the beating frequency in proximity of intermediate autoionizing states; ii) The phase of resonant two-photon amplitudes generally experiences a continuous excursion as a function of the intermediate detuning, with either zero or $2\pi$ overall variation.Comment: 23 pages, 13 figure

El presente trabajo de investigación tiene por objetivo analizar cómo la trilogía del S-21 de Rithy Panh desentraña el legado del genocidio llevado a cabo por la dictadura impuesta por Pol Pot y sus Jemeres Rojos en Camboya entre los años 1975 y 1979. Así pues, la meta no es otra que seguir la reconstrucción de la memoria colectiva llevada a cabo por el cineasta camboyano, estudiando los mecanismos y técnicas cinematográficas de las que se vale para cumplir su misión, así como los resultados a los que su propuesta le conduce en su búsqueda de imágenes perdidas.The objective of this paper is to analyze how the trilogy of the S-21 by Rithy Panh unravels the legacy of the genocide carried out by the dictatorship imposed by Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge Regime in Cambodia between 1975 and 1979. Protesta y movilización popular en el tránsito a la sociedad liberal (1808-1834)

Los acontecimientos de 1808 supusieron un cambio en el ritmo de la política madrileña, desencadenando un periodo de conflictos civiles que no culminaría hasta mediados del siglo XIX con la definitiva consolidación del modelo liberal. Sin embargo, las formas de protesta de las clases populares no se transformaron radicalmente de la noche a la mañana. Resulta indudable que la guerra de la Independencia y la cultura política liberal, introdujeron repertorios de acción colectiva novedosos. Pero estas nuevas prácticas no se asentaron sobre la nada, sino que echaron raíces sobre un modelo de protesta que se veía fraguando en la Corte durante los siglos anteriores. Los historiadores suelen presentar el periodo posterior a 1808 como fruto del avance de una modernidad política que se abría paso dificultosamente entre las rémoras de la tradición. Esta lectura permite relegar al terreno del anacronismo aquellas manifestaciones populares que no encajasen en la deriva progresiva de la sociedad. Pero si releemos la conflictividad social de estas décadas a la luz de la centuria anterior, podremos alumbrar nuevas explicaciones sobre los cambios y permanencias que caracterizaron el periodo

Clínica. Localizaciones: rodilla, cadera, manos, columna, otras localizaciones

ResumenLa clínica que presentan estos pacientes difiere mucho de unos a otros, dependiendo especialmente de la localización de la artrosis, y no hay buena correlación entre la afectación radiológica y el dolor. Generalmente, la clínica es de inicio gradual y evolución lenta, aunque progresiva, y las articulaciones más afectadas son las rodillas, las caderas, las manos y la columna vertebral. Los principales síntomas y signos son el dolor, la rigidez, la deformidad articular y la crepitación. El dolor es de características mecánicas y de causa multifactorial; en fases iniciales suele cursar en brotes autolimitados y posteriormente puede permanecer casi constante. Los criterios del American College of Rheumatology para clasificar las artrosis de rodilla, cadera y manos son una ayuda para la clasificación y estandarización, pero no sirven para el diagnóstico de la enfermedad. La artrosis de cadera suele presentar dolor inguinal, en la parte interna y anterior del muslo hasta la rodilla y con la evolución tiende a producir limitación de la movilidad. La artrosis de rodilla es más frecuente en mujeres y suele asociarse con la de mano y la obesidad. En la artrosis de manos, las articulaciones más afectadas son las interfalángicas distales, seguidas de las interfalángicas proximales y la trapeciometacarpiana; es frecuente la aparición de nódulos de Heberden y Bouchard; la afectación de la articulación trapeciometacarpiana se denomina rizartrosis, siendo una de las artrosis que más limita la funcionabilidad de la mano. La artrosis de columna afecta a las articulaciones interapofisarias y a los cuerpos vertebrales. Otras artrosis menos frecuentes son las del pie, codo y hombro, que generalmente son secundarias.AbstractThe symptoms of osteoarthritis vary widely from patient to patient, depending especially on the localization on the disease. There is a poor correlation between radiological involvement and pain. In general, symptom onset is gradual and symptoms increase slowly but progressively. The most commonly affected joints are the knees, hips, hands, and spine. The main signs and symptoms are pain, stiffness, joint deformity, and crepitus. Pain is mechanical and its causes are multifactorial; in the initial phases, pain usually manifests in self-limiting episodes but may subsequently be almost constant. The criteria of the American college of Rheumatology for the classification of osteoarthritis of the knee, hip and hands are an aid to classification and standardization but are not useful for diagnosis. Hip osteoarthritis usually produces inguinal pain in the internal and anterior sections of the muscle extending to the knee and, with progression, tends to limit mobility. Knee osteoarthritis is more frequent in women and is usually associated with hand osteoarthritis and obesity. In hand osteoarthritis, the most commonly affected joints are the distal interphalangeal joints, followed by the proximal interphalangeal joints and the trapeziometacarpal joints; the development of Heberden and Bouchard nodes is common; involvement of the trapeziometacarpal joint is called rhizarthrosis and is one of the forms of osteoarthritis that produces the greatest limitation on hand function. These countries, often run by Governments that make an inadequate distribution of the national budgets, undergo issues in assessing the health and educational needs of their communities. Thus, from the last 80s the presence of non-governmental organizations(NGOs), which appeared as an option to fill the gaps in the system,has grown significantly. However, NGOs are usually unevenly distributed and there is rarely coordination among them, which often results in duplication of services or waste of resources.Nevertheless, the unprecedented and ubiquitous proliferation of mobile phone-based technology and internet,amongother factors, appear as a promising scenario to face the health needs of the LMICs
