Las primeras profesoras de gimnástica en España : profesión liberal y coartada durante el siglo XIX

El objetivo de este artículo es una aproximación a la realidad de la profesión de profesora de gimnasia en los inicios de la configuración de dicha profesión. Por causa del aparente vacío doctrinal existente sobre esta temática durante el periodo estudiado, las fuentes de información empleadas proceden principalmente de fuentes archivísticas y hemerográficas de la época. Igualmente se ha recurrido a estudios actuales con el fin de centrar una posición desde la historia social de las prácticas gimnástico-deportivas. Las conclusiones del trabajo muestran que las primeras profesoras de gimnasia, a pesar de contar en un momento puntual con formación oficial, fueron vetadas para acceder a los institutos o incluso a escuelas normales, quedando relegadas a centros de educación infantil y primaria o al ejercicio de la profesión de forma privada o en gimnasios familiares. La moralidad de la época y el rol asignado a las mujeres actuaron como condicionantes claros para que su orientación profesional se vinculase a la gimnasia higiénica en el sistema educativo o a clases de gimnasia femenina en instituciones privadas. A pesar de esto, existieron mujeres que transgredieron dichos roles y que, precisamente por ello, se estudian aquí tambiénThe aim of this article is to offer a glimpse of the reality of the practice of female gymnastics teachers in the beginnings of its inception as a professional practice. Due to the apparent lack of disciplinary work on the topic in the period that is the object of our study, the sources of information that we have used are mainly archival and periodical. Likewise, we have resorted to current studies aiming at a positioning of sports and gymnastic practices considering socio-historical arguments. The conclusions of the work show that the first female gymnastic teachers, despite having at some point some formal training, were banned from accessing secondary schools, or even regular schools, being thus relegated to teaching in pre-elementary and elementary schools, or to teaching private lessons in family gyms. The morality of the time and the role assigned to women, clearly affected the way in which female teachers' professional careers were linked to hygienic gymnastic within the official school system, or to female physical education lessons in private institutions. Autorrepresentación de atletas españolas en Instagram: estudio de casos

Social networks are becoming increasingly important in our society and Spanish women athletes are present in them. The current literature shows the growing interest of the scientific field in the logics of networks and the representation of sportswomen, although very limited in the case of our county. Therefore, the aim of this article was to analyze the self-representation of three known Spanish women athletes from different sports. For this purpose, a content analysis of their publications on Instagram, was carried out between February 2020 and February 2021. The findings have shown that each sportswoman has a different style of representation, while there are also points in common. The images receiving the most likes in each case did not follow any pattern but in two cases the centrality of the body was clear. It was concluded, after analysis and discussion, that all three maintain a socially accepted image of femininity, in which in each case there are elements, including advertising, that contribute to this heteronormative ideal, typical of an androcentric society. In addition, only in one case was an alternative self-representation to the traditional one detected in the media. Further study of the relationship between social networks and sport is a theme of future work with great potential, as more and more athletes, fans and the media are making use of them.Las redes sociales cada día tienen más peso en nuestra sociedad y las deportistas españolas están presentes en ellas. La literatura existente muestra el creciente interés del ámbito científico sobre las lógicas de las redes y la representación de las deportistas, aunque muy limitado en el caso de nuestro país. Por tanto, el objetivo de este artículo fue analizar la autorrepresentación de tres deportistas españolas famosas y de diferentes deportes. Para ello, se realizó un análisis de contenido de sus publicaciones en Instagram, entre febrero de 2020 y febrero de 2021. Los resultados han mostrado que cada deportista tiene un estilo diferente de autorrepresentación, existiendo también puntos en común. Las imágenes que reciben más likes no siguieron ningún patrón, pero en dos casos la centralidad del cuerpo fue clara. Se concluyó, tras el análisis y discusión, que las tres mantienen una imagen de feminidad socialmente aceptada, en la que en cada caso se presentaron elementos, incluida la publicidad, que contribuyeron a dicho ideal heteronormativo y propio de una sociedad androcéntrica. Además, sólo en un caso, se detectó una autorrepresentación alternativa a la tradicional de los medios de comunicación. Profundizar en la relación entre redes sociales y deporte es una línea de trabajo futuro de gran potencial, pues son cada vez más los y las deportistas, aficionados y medios de comunicación que hacen uso de ellos

Efecto de la intervención “Deportigualízate” en las actitudes hacia la igualdad de profesionales de la educación física en formación

Recent studies show the need to include the gender perspective in the training of pre-service professionals in physical education and physical activity, as well as the scarcity of existing interventions in this field, specifically, in the Spanish context. The purpose of this article is, on the one hand, to present the intervention ‘Deportigualízate,’ an intervention based on the principles of critical feminist pedagogy in the context of Physical Activity and Sport Science (PASS) undergraduate program. On the other hand, to study its effect on the attitudes towards gender equality of pre-service professionals in physical education and physical activity. To this end, a sample of 39 students from the PASS degree of the University of A Coruña participated in the study. A quasi-experimental design of two groups with pre-test and post-test was followed. Data was collected through the School Doing Gender/Teachers scale (Piedra, 2010). The results found show an improvement in the attitudes towards gender equality of the students participating in the intervention, concluding that ‘Deportigualízate’ has a positive effect on the profesional profile towards gender-sensitive teaching of PASS students.Investigaciones recientes demuestran la necesidad de incluir la perspectiva de género en la formación de profesionales de la actividad física y la educación física, así como la existencia de un escaso número de intervenciones existentes en dicho campo, específicamente, en el contexto español. La finalidad de este artículo es, por un lado, presentar la intervención “Deportigualízate”, una intervención basada en los principios de la pedagogía crítica feminista en el contexto del Grado de Ciencias de la Actividad Física y el Deporte (CAFYD). Por otro, estudiar su efecto en las actitudes hacia la igualdad de género de los y las futuras profesionales de la actividad física y la educación física. Para ello, se contó con una muestra de 39 estudiantes del grado de CAFYD de la Universidade da Coruña. Se siguió un diseño cuasiexperimental de dos grupos con pre-test y post-test, utilizando la escala School Doing Gender/Teachers (Piedra, 2010) para la recogida de datos. Los resultados encontrados muestran una mejora en las actitudes hacia la igualdad de género del alumnado participante en la intervención, pudiendo concluir que “Deportigualízate” tiene un efecto positivo en el perfil profesional hacia la coeducación de estudiantes de CAFYD.Actividad Física y Deport

Masculine, feminine and neutral sports: Extracurricular sport modalities in practice

The present work constitutes a novel approach to extracurricular sport modalities. The aim was to analyze the participation model and to determine the relevance of sex in this context. Data from 616 students, aged 15 to 17, were collected. The questionnaire on sport lifestyle from a gender perspective (Alvariñas-Villaverde et al., 2009) was used for assessment. The results showed that sport choice corresponds to sports traditionally associated with men or women. Nevertheless, these coexist with other neutral sports. Girls’ practice was more diverse, while boys’ profile was more resistant to changing classic patterns. A linguaxe como medio de violencia simbólica no deporte

[RESUMO] En todas as sociedades machistas a linguaxe ten un papel fundamental na discriminación das mulleres, configurándose como un instrumento de dominación e lexitimador da violencia simbólica. O obxectivo deste estudo foi analizar se as estudantes de Ciencias do Deporte e a Educación Física da Universidade da Coruña reciben frases ao longo da súa carreira deportiva que reflicten a dominación e reprodución dun modelo social discriminatorio. A metodoloxía empregada inscríbese baixo o paradigma cualitativo e feminista, facendo uso da análise de contido como técnica de investigación. Para a recompilación de datos empregouse unha ficha de rexistro anecdótico que se aplicou a corenta alumnas e un grupo de discusión con cinco estudantes. Os resultados permítennos concluír que a linguaxe é un medio máis de violencia simbólica no deporte, que perpetúa un sistema de dominación masculina a través da transmisión dunha visión de inferioridade das mulleres, que menospreza a súa práctica e establece como ideal o deporte masculino. Non se acepta que unha muller poida ser superior a un home en situacións deportivas mixtas e danse casos nos que, a través da linguaxe, se chega a incitar á violencia física e sexual.
