    Copulas: compatibility and Fr\'echet classes

    Get PDF
We determine under which conditions three bivariate copulas are compatible, viz. they are the bivariate marginals of the same trivariate copula, and, then, construct the class of these copulas. In particular, the upper and lower bounds for this class of trivariate copulas are determined.Comment: LaTeX, 14 page

Total positivity and dependence of order statistics

    Get PDF
In this comprehensive study, we delve deeply into the concept of multivariate total positivity, defining it in accordance with a direction. We rigorously explore numerous salient properties, shedding light on the nuances that characterize this notion. Furthermore, our research extends to establishing distinct forms of dependence among the order statistics of a sample from a distribution function. Our analysis aims to provide a nuanced understanding of the interrelationships within multivariate total positivity and its implications for statistical analysis and probability theory

A generalization of a copula-based construction of fuzzy implications

    Get PDF
In this paper we complement and generalize some constructions of fuzzy implications based on two arbitrary copulas, obtaining new fuzzy implications. By means of (restricted) aggregation functions acting on [0, 1]S, where Sis a fixed finite or infinite set, and related S-systems of fuzzy implications and transforming functions, we introduce and discuss a rather general method for constructing fuzzy implications. Several examples illustrating our results are also included

Introduction. The development and urban changes in the city of Cuenca are like other locations of the region. A region where the implementation of urban sustainability indicators guides the different cities to the search of approaches that promote the sustainable development of its three main axis: economic, environmental, and social; generating benefits to the environment at the same time as well as the quality of life of its inhabitants. Objective. The objective of this investigation is to determine the urban sustainability indicators, construction and residential waste that could apply to Cuenca city. Methodology. This investigation is going to be develop by using a methodology that involves investigation, revision, and compilation of existent literature of the international framework about the sustainability indicators. In addition, the creation of a framework will help to design a matrix of basic indicators for construction and solid waste. Thus, these indicators are going to be homologated based on their similar criteria with respect of the initial objectives; evaluation and methodology to obtain a set of urban construction and solid waste sustainability indicators that can be applied at local level in Cuenca. These indicators are going to be valid throughout some experts’ criteria that back them up in the adequacy, clearness, importance, and coherence sense of the presented indicators. Results. Finally, with the obtained information from Municipal Public Company of Clean de Cuenca-EMAC-EP, four indicators will be applied to determine whether the city presents sustainability indexes with respect to construction and solid waste management. Conclusion. The results of the presented research will be important because of its capacity to contribute to the sustainability development of the city.

In this study, we explored the key structural features of a purine‐based proapoptotic hit, 8‐tert‐butyl‐9‐phenyl‐6‐benzyloxy‐9Hpurine (1), by setting up a library of 6‐alkoxy purines with the aim of elucidating the structural requirements that govern its biological activity and to study the cell selectivity of this chemotype. This was done by a phenotypic screening approach based on cell cycle analysis of a panel of six human cancer cell lines, including T cell leukemia Jurkat cells. From this study, two derivatives (12 and 13) were identified as Jurkat‐selective proapoptotic compounds, displaying superior potency and cell selectivity than hit 1.Instituto de Salud Carlos III Spanish Government European Commission RTC-2017-6620Ministerio de Educacion, Cultura y Deporte FPU 14/0081

First experiment: Fragmentation of ions relevant for space and therapy

    Get PDF
Nuclear fragmentation processes are relevant in different fields of basic research and applied physics and are of particular interest for tumor therapy and for space radiation protection applications. The FIRST (Fragmentation of Ions Relevant for Space and Therapy) experiment at SIS accelerator of GSI laboratory in Darmstadt, has been designed for the measurement of different ions fragmentation cross sections at different energies between 100 and 1000 MeV/nucleon. The experiment is performed by an international collaboration made of institutions from Germany, France, Italy and Spain. The experimental apparatus is partly based on an already existing setup made of the ALADIN magnet, the MUSIC IV TPC, the LAND2 neutron detector and the TOFWALL scintillator TOF system, integrated with newly designed detectors in the interaction Region (IR) around the carbon removable target: a scintillator Start Counter, a Beam Monitor drift chamber, a silicon Vertex Detector and a Proton Tagger for detection of light fragments emitted at large angles (KENTROS). The scientific program of the FIRST experiment started on summer 2011 with the study of the 400 MeV/nucleon 12C beam fragmentation on thin (8mm) carbon target
