    The Correlation Factors of Washing Technique Equipment With Health Cutlery in Delicatessens In The Work Area Port Health Office Samarinda

    Hygiene of food and beverages is influenced by cutlery. Behavioral factor related to the food management is an important factor in food hygiene. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship of knowledge and washing techniques practice with the hygiene tableware at food stalls.The design of this study was Cross-sectional. The study was conducted in food stall at the Port Health Office Samarinda using observation method completed by cutlery hygiene inspection. The research samples were 4 to 5 tableware and 30 samples of food handlers. Mann Whitney test was used as the data analysis.The findings showed that there was no relationship between knowledge and hygiene of utensils (ρ value = 0370), while there was a relationship between the practice of cleanliness of cutlery (ρ value = 0.002) in food stall at The Port health Office area in Samarinda.Suggestions for food handlers are to soak the cutlery in advance so that the rest of the food stuck or the hardened part can be easily off and cleaned. Do the rinsing with the running water or frequently replace the rinse water. Re-clean the cutlery using a clean cloth or frequently replaced and keep cutlery in proper place, avoid the dust and dirt. To the related institutions are expected to do the regular inspection of the cutlery, do the monitoring and evaluation to coaching and training and the need of local regulations governing cleanliness of food stalls in the port authority. Keywords: the Health of Cutlery, Knowledge, Behavior, Practic

    Babies of low birth weight is a baby who weighed less than 2500 grams. Low birth weight is caused by several factors i.e. a premature birth, small size baby, and IUGR (intra-uterine growth retardation). The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between supplemental iron (Fe) in pregnant women and low birth weight. The design research is quantitative method with Case Control approach using 116 samples from 58 cases and 58 control groups with a ratio of 1:1 for both sexes. The sampling method is purposive Sampling. Dana analyzed using Chi Square correlation test with CI 95% at value of α of 5%. The results showed that there was a correlations between supplemental Fe in pregnant women (ρ value = 0,001 with OR = 8.25) with low birth weight.  To reduce the high incidence of low birth weight, pregnant women are suggested to take Fe supplements or taking high content Fe meal everyday

    The Difference in Nutritional Intake and Physical Activity to Nutritional Status in Adolescents

    Background: Nutritional problems in adolescents are characterized by overweight or obesity. Being overweight is affected by an imbalance in nutrient intake and physical activity in adolescents. Purpose: This study aims to determine differences in nutrient intake and physical activity on nutritional status in adolescents. Methods: This type of research uses a cross-sectional design. Subjects were 94 students with a purposive sampling technique with a sample of 94 students. Collecting data on nutritional intake using food 2x24 hour recall and physical activity was measured using Adolescent Physical Activity Questionnaire (APAQ). Analysis of statistical data using the Independent Sample Test and the Mann -Whitney Test. Results: The results showed that there was a meaningful difference in nutritional intake (protein, carbohydrates, fiber) between normal nutritional status and more nutritional status in adolescents with value (p<0.05), but there was no meaningful difference in nutritional intake (energy, fat) and physical activity between normal nutritional status and more nutritional status in adolescents with value (p> 0.05). Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is a difference in the intake of nutrients (protein, carbohydrates, and fiber) to the nutritional status in adolescents. Furthermore, there was no difference in nutritional intake (energy and fat) and physical activity to nutritional status in adolescents. Adolescents should pay attention to nutritional status early by paying attention to nutritional intake through diet and still doing physical activity to avoid nutritional problems that will impact non-communicable diseases

    Gymnastics is a sport that affects the BMI and physical fitness of overweight and obese adolescents. Overweight and obesity occur due to an imbalance in energy intake and expenditure and a decrease in physical activity, which can cause adolescent health problems. This study aims to analyze the effect of physical fitness gymnastics on changes in BMI and physical fitness of overweight and obese adolescents. The research design is a quasi-experimental pre-post intervention study. The research was conducted at the 2nd and 3rd State Junior High Schools in Samarinda City, from November 2020 to January 2021. A sample of 38 people was selected using purposive sampling. Data collection was collected by weighing, measuring height, and measuring nutritional status using BMI for age. Fitness data obtained from IPFT measurement results. Statistical analysis using T-tests. The results showed that there was no difference in body weight and fitness before and after exercise intervention in the two groups (overweight and obese) (p>0,05), but BMI for age showed a difference before and after (p<0,05). With the difference in changes in body weight (2,35 ± 0,85 kg), BMI for age (0,52 ± 18,43), and increased fitness (2,86 ± 2,50). In conclusion, the physical fitness exercise intervention affected changes in body weight, BMI for age, and physical fitness of overweight and obese adolescents, which was carried out for 12 weeks with a frequency of 5 times per week for 30 minutes

    Nutritional deficiency in children under five years old can affect their brain development. At the national level, the percentage of nutritional deficiency-malnutrition cases in 2013 reached 19.3 %. This research aimed to find out the effect of nutrition counseling on the knowledge and parenting of the mothers of with nutritional deficiency in the operational area of Puskesmas Rapak Mahang. The method used in this research was quasi experiment with nonequivalent control group design. In this research used 30 respondents for experiment and control group. The method for determined respondent was nonprobability sampling with accidental sampling, The instrument that used in this research was questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using statistical analysis of Wilcoxon at the significance level of 0.05. The result of statistical analysis showed that there was an effect of nutrition counseling on the knowledge about nutrition (p value = 0.001) and there was an effect of nutrition counseling on the parenting of the mothers in the experimental group (p value = 0.001). It is suggested that nutrition counseling be given at Posyandu (Integrated Service Post) so that the mothers of balita who do not visit the Puskesmas will get nutrition counseling.Kekurangan gizi pada usia balita dapat mempengaruhi perkembangan otak pada anak. Secara nasional, kasus gizi buruk-kurang pada tahun 2013 mencapai 19,3%. Angka ini terus meningkat setiap tahunnya.
