Astronomy books from the childhood of seniors in the U3V courses

V seniorském věku rádi otvíráme knížky z dětství i ze školního věku. Někdy se po nich přímo pídíme po knihovnách či antikvariátech. Skrze jejich autory se dost úspěšně vracíme do čtenářských zážitků i do poznávání vesmíru z krásných a po tajemnu dychtivých dnů dětství a mládí. Na knihy se však již díváme také přes životní zkušenost a změny kolem nás, tedy trochu jinýma očima. Populární astronomická literatura v češtině z několika minulých staletí je skvělým zdrojem pro obohacení U3V svým přístupem, myšlenkami, vzpomínkami i jazykem.It is in our elder hood, that we tend to reopen the books; we used to read as children. Indeed, we may go as far as to seek them in such places as libraries or antiquarian shops. It is thanks to the authors, that we can once again relive the amazing days of learning about the space and reminisce about the beautiful, mystery-seeking times of our youth. However, due to the experience gained throughout our lives, we now tend to look at those books from quite a different perspective. Popular astronomical literature written in the Czech language from the last few centuries can make a great source of enrichment for the U3V through the ways, thoughts, memories and the language it offers

Test Methods for Evaluation of Radiation Effects in High Precision Analog and Mixed-Signal Devices for Space Applications

The traditional radiation testing of space electronics has been used for more than fifty years to support the radiation hardness assurance. Its typical goal is to ensure reliable operation of the spacecraft in the harsh environment of space. This PhD research looks into the radiation testing from a different perspective; the goal is to develop radiation testing methods that are focused not only on the reliability of the components but also on a continuous radiation-induced degradation of their performance. The Role of National Identities in the Iran-Iraq War

Účelem této práce bylo vymezit, popsat a zanalyzovat prvky, které utvářely národní identity v zemích podílejících se na Íránsko-irácké válce. K tomuto bylo využíváno nástroju konstruktivistické diskursivní analýzy, jež proběhla na projevech Saddáma Husajna a Ayatolláha Ruholláha Chomejního. Na základě popisu války samotné bylo následně možné vytyčit body, ve kterých národní identity ovlivnily průběh výše zmíněné války.Katedra blízkovýchodních studiíObhájenoThe goal of this thesis was to define, describe and analyze processes, which formed national identities in the states participating in the Iran-Iraq war. For those purposes were utilized the instruments of constructivist discourse analysis, which was performed on the speechces of Saddam Hussain and Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. Based on the description of the war itself, we were then able to define points where national identity influenced the forementioned war

Working routines of photojournalist in the analog and in the digital era

Author of the dissertation compares usual working routines of photojournalist in analog and in digital era. The dissertation describes both the technology used, the approach of photojournalists and the influence which the technology and the approach have on the final image production. The thesis is to demonstrate by using concrete examples of photographic practice that the routine work has changed in digital era. The main research method used to prove this proposition is method of in-depth interviews with photographic professionals. The dissertation describes three phases of photojournalist`s routine work: preparations, photography and subsequent image processing. Author of the dissertation compares methods commonly used in analog era and standard methods used in digital era. In the main part, the author provides a description of the changes which followed the process of digitization and applies them to specific standards of journalism. The most important changes considered are the possibility of immediate control of photographic production and also the processing of digital images instead of traditional chemical process in the darkroom. Author points out that thanks to this transformation the production of journalistic images was accelerated and he also shows examples where this transformation led..

China's economic development and its impact on Chinese international relations with focus on Africa

Cílem této práce je zhodnotit čínské aktivity v Africe, zjistit jejich ekonomickou strukturu, zjistit, proč se Čínská lidová republika zaměřuje na Afriku a zjistit jaké jsou hlavní rysy čínsko – africké spolupráce. První kapitola se věnuje čínskému ekonomickému vzestupu se zaměřením na období po reformách v sedmdesátých letech. Druhá kapitola se věnuje čínské domácí a zahraniční politice a jejím rysům. Třetí kapitola popisuje současné čínské mezinárodní vztahy, obsahuje tři podkapitoly týkající se čínských aktivit v Jihočínském a Východočínském moři, vztahům s Taiwanem a také s USA. Čtvrtá závěrečná kapitola se věnuje čínským aktivitám v Africe. Kapitola rovněž obsahuje dvě případové studie. První se týká čínských aktivit v Angole, druhá se věnuje čínsko – etiopským vztahům.The aim of this thesis is to evaluate Chinese activities in Africa, determine their economic structure, determine why is People’s Republic of China focusing on Africa and also determine what are the main characteristics of the Sino – African cooperation. The first chapter focuses on China‘s economic development with focus on the post – reform period from 1970s. The second chapter focuses on the chinese domestic and foreign policy and its characteristics. The third chapter deals with China’s contemporary international relations, contains three subchapters regarding chinese activities in South China Sea and East China Sea, China’s relations with Taiwan and the USA. The fourth final chapter deals with Chinese activities in Africa. The chapter also contains two case studies. The first case study aims on Chinese activities in Angola, the second one deals with the Sino – Ethiophian relations

Measuring system of photovoltaic panels efficiency

Diplomová práce se zabývá návrhem a provozem měřícího systému, jehož účelem je dlouhodobé měření efektivity fotovoltaického panelu na experimentální instalaci fotovoltaického panelu. Měřící systém se sestává z modulu měření energie slunečního záření (pyranometru), inteligentního zátěžového modulu pro měření výstupního výkonu fotovoltaického panelu a modulu měření klimatických podmínek panelu. Nameřená data jsou přenášena do řídícího počítače (PC), kde se ukládají pro vyhodnocení účinosti panelu a klimatických vlivů na jeho účinost.This diploma thesis is focused on development and initial run of a measurement system whose aim is to measure photovoltaic panel efficiency. Experimental photovoltaic panel is installed outside the laboratory. Measurement system consists of the solar radiation measurement module (pyranometer), photovoltaic panel load module (panel power measurement) and panel climate measurement module. Data from measurement module is being captured via control computer for subsequent analysis of panel efficiency and climatic impacts on it.

The Specifics of the Audit of Financial Statements of the Bank in the Czech Republic

This master thesis deals with the area of external audit of the bank in the Czech Republic. Its goal is to identify and describe the specifics making the procedures during bank's financial statements audit different from those applied by non-financial commercial subjects. The first part is focused on the general framework of the external audit. The second part describes main features of the bank identifying several risks connected with the business which have a significant influence on the approach used by the auditors.
