A Lagrangian model for the evolution of turbulent magnetic and passive scalar fields

In this paper we present an extension of the \emph{Recent Fluid Deformation (RFD)} closure introduced by Chevillard and Meneveau (2006) which was developed for modeling the time evolution of Lagrangian fluctuations in incompressible Navier-Stokes turbulence. We apply the RFD closure to study the evolution of magnetic and passive scalar fluctuations. This comparison is especially interesting since the stretching term for the magnetic field and for the gradient of the passive scalar are similar but differ by a sign such that the effect of stretching and compression by the turbulent velocity field is reversed. Probability density functions (PDFs) of magnetic fluctuations and fluctuations of the gradient of the passive scalar obtained from the RFD closure are compared against PDFs obtained from direct numerical simulations

Trennung wird definiert als die Auflösung eines gemeinsamen Haushalts der Eltern. Die anschließende räumliche Neuordnung der Eltern-Kind Beziehungen wird als eine sehr anspruchsvolle Aufgabe beschrieben, die vielfältige Dimensionen des Wohnens von Erwachsenen und Kindern berührt. In raumsoziologischer Perspektive wird der komplexe Prozess unter fünf Aspekten ausgelotet: wachsende Anforderungen an zeitliche Koordination und räumliche Mobilität im Alltag der Kinder, neue Formen von »Elternhaus« als Repräsentation der Elternfiguren, Aushandlungsprozesse zwischen Gast- und Wohnrechten, Wohnen über die Grenze zwischen zwei elterlichen »Hoheitsgebieten« und über die Grenze zwischen den privaten Räumen und dem öffentlichen Raum, räumliche Bedingungen für die Ablösung vom »Elternhaus«. Damit wird ein theoretischer Rahmen skizziert, in dem die vielfältigen Wechselwirkungen zwischen räumlichen Strukturen und der Entwicklung von Eltern-Kind-Beziehungen empirisch zu prüfen wären. Effect of film-forming amines on the acidic stress-corrosion cracking resistance of steam turbine steel

This work evaluates the effect of film-forming amines (FFA) on the acidic stress-corrosion cracking (SCC) resistance of NiCrMoV turbine steel. Contact angle measurements show an increased hydrophobicity of the surface when coating the steel with oleyl propylene diamine (OLDA). According to potentiodynamic measurements and post-mortem scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis, anodic dissolution and hydrogen embrittlement still occur when the steel is FFA coated. In situ constant extension rate testing (CERT) in acidic aqueous environment at elevated temperature of FFA-coated steel shows a ductility gain compared to non-coated steel, explained by a decrease in both corrosion rate and hydrogen uptake
