Hubungan Antara Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis dan Motivasi Membaca dengan Keterampilan Menulis Laporan Observasi pada Siswa kelas 8 SMP Negeri di Kota Surakarta

ABSTRAK HUBUNGAN ANTARA KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS DAN MOTIVASI MEMBACA DENGAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS LAPORAN OBSERVASI PADA SISWA KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI DI KOTA SURAKARTA Ary Hunanda Kuswandari, Slamet Mulyono, Sarwiji Suwandi E-mail: [email protected] Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara: (1) kemampuan berpikir kritis dan keterampilan menulis laporan observasi; (2) motivasi membaca dan keterampilan menulis laporan observasi; dan (3) kemampuan berpikir kritis dan motivasi membaca secara bersama-sama dengan keterampilan menulis laporan observasi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 8 Surakarta, SMP Negeri 14 Surakarta, dan SMP Negeri 16 Surakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survei korelasional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri se-Surakarta. Sampel berjumlah 170 orang yang diambil dengan cara Cluster Random Sampling. Instrumen untuk mengumpulkan data adalah tes keterampilan menulis laporan observasi, tes kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan angket motivasi membaca. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah teknik statistik regresi dan korelasi (sederhana dan ganda). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa: (1) ada hubungan positif antara kemampuan berpikir kritis dan keterampilan menulis laporan observasi (ry1 = 0,39 pada taraf nyata α = 0,05 dengan N = 170, rt = 0,1497, dan t1 = 5,42 ˃ tt = 1,645); (2) ada hubungan positif antara motivasi membaca dan keterampilan menulis laporan observasi (ry2 = 0,15 pada taraf nyata α = 0,05 dengan N = 170, rt = 0,1497, dan t1 = 1,99 ˃ tt = 1,645); (3) ada hubungan positif antara kemampuan berpikir kritis dan motivasi membaca secara bersama-sama dengan keterampilan menulis laporan observasi (Ry12 = 0,41 pada taraf nyata α = 0,05 dengan N = 170, Rt = 0,1497, dan F0 = 16,50 ˃ F1 = 3,0532). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapat disimpulkan bahwa secara bersama-sama kemampuan berpikir kritis dan motivasi membaca memberikan sumbangan yang berarti (16,81%) pada keterampilan menulis laporan observasi. Ini menunjukkan bahwa kedua variabel tersebut dapat menjadi prediktor yang baik bagi keterampilan menulis laporan observasi. UJI DIAGNOSTIK FNAB (FINE NEEDLE ASPIRATION BIOPSY) DIBANDINGKAN DENGAN BIOPSI PATOLOGI ANATOMI DALAM MENDIAGNOSIS KARSINOMA TIROID

Latar Belakang : Diperkirakan terdapat 0,5-10 kasus per 100.000 penduduk yang menderita nodul tiroid pada populasi dunia. Nodul tiroid yang bersifat ganas memerlukan terapi secepatnya, sedangkan yang jinak dapat diterapi secara medikamentosa. FNAB merupakan langkah diagnostik awal pengelolaan nodul tiroid. Tehnik FNAB aman, murah, dapat dipercaya dan resiko komplikasi kecil. Tujuan : Menjelaskan nilai diagnostik FNAB dibandingkan dengan biopsi patologi anatomi dalam mendiagnosis karsinoma tiroid pada pasien di RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang Metode: Subyek penelitian adalah pasien RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang yang memiliki nodul tiroid yang telah diperiksa menggunakan FNAB dan Biopsi Patologi Anatomi. Data hasil pemeriksaan FNAB dan biopsi Patologi Anatomi dari setiap sampel kemudian dikumpulkan untuk dianalisis sesuai rumus untuk mencari sensitifitas, spesifitas, nilai ramal positif, dan nilai ramal negatif. Hasil : Total sampel yang didapatkan adalah 34 sampel. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan nilai sensitifitas FNAB 100%, spesifitas 84%, nilai ramal positif 69%, dan nilai ramal negatif 100%. Kesimpulan : FNAB mempunyai nilai diagnostik yang baik untuk mendiagnosis karsinoma tiroid. Kata kunci : Uji diagnostik, FNAB, karsinoma tiroi

Kajian Sikap Pustakawan Dalam Meningkatkan Kualitas Layanan Di Perpustakaan Fakultas Teknologi Informasi Dan Komunikasi Universitas Semarang

Penelitian tentang sikap pustakawan dalam meningkatkan kualitas layanan di Perpustakaan Fakultas Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi Universitas Semarang bersasaran pada pengelola perpustakaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsi sikap pengelola perpustakaan dalam meningkatkatkan kualitas layanan di Perpustakaan Fakultas Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi Universitas Semarang. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kasus dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dan pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi dan wawancara mendalam. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah pengelola perpustakaan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah pustakawan di Perpustakaan Fakultas Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi Universitas Semarang memiliki sikap dasar pustakawan. Kendala yang dihadapi berupa tidak maksimalnya upaya untuk mempertahankan keunggulan kompetensi bagi perkembangan dan kemajuan perpustakaan. Untuk itu, kepada Pimpinan Fakultas Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi Universitas Semarang disarankan agar terus melakukan upaya pembinaan pustakawan untuk menghasilkan sikap yang positif dalam mengembangkan dan memajukan perpustakaan

Magnitude and Sign Correlations in Heartbeat Fluctuations

We propose an approach for analyzing signals with long-range correlations by decomposing the signal increment series into magnitude and sign series and analyzing their scaling properties. We show that signals with identical long-range correlations can exhibit different time organization for the magnitude and sign. We find that the magnitude series relates to the nonlinear properties of the original time series, while the sign series relates to the linear properties. We apply our approach to the heartbeat interval series and find that the magnitude series is long-range correlated, while the sign series is anticorrelated and that both magnitude and sign series may have clinical applications.Comment: 4 pages,late

Exploring Rural Community’s Knowledge on Child Maltreatment

Child maltreatment is an epidemic affecting children of all ages, cultural backgrounds, and socio-economic status, influencing both physical and mental health. In general, the attitude of the rural population towards child maltreatment plays a key role in determining their willingness to report such incidents. Therefore, this study was conducted among community members residing in Kampung Skim Sekuau in Sibu, Sarawak to explore their knowledge on child maltreatment. The researcher used an in-depth interview approach to collect data on the rural community’s understanding and knowledge of risk factors that contribute to child maltreatment. The results of the study show that the majority of the respondents are female, aged between 30 and 52 years old, belong to the Iban ethnic group, and work in the government and private sectors. Nevertheless, the findings reveal the risk factors that contribute to child maltreatment, including conflict between spouses, financial hardship, stress, and parental substance abuse. By understanding the rural community's perception of child maltreatment, the trauma associated with such heinous acts can be more effectively addressed through the existing intact support systems for coping resources and prevention measures against child maltreatment

From Parasite to Mutualist: Rapid Evolution of Wolbachia in Natural Populations of Drosophila

Wolbachia are maternally inherited bacteria that commonly spread through host populations by causing cytoplasmic incompatibility, often expressed as reduced egg hatch when uninfected females mate with infected males. Infected females are frequently less fecund as a consequence of Wolbachia infection. However, theory predicts that because of maternal transmission, these “parasites” will tend to evolve towards a more mutualistic association with their hosts. Drosophila simulans in California provided the classic case of a Wolbachia infection spreading in nature. Cytoplasmic incompatibility allowed the infection to spread through individual populations within a few years and from southern to northern California (more than 700 km) within a decade, despite reducing the fecundity of infected females by 15%–20% under laboratory conditions. Here we show that the Wolbachia in California D. simulans have changed over the last 20 y so that infected females now exhibit an average 10% fecundity advantage over uninfected females in the laboratory. Our data suggest smaller but qualitatively similar changes in relative fecundity in nature and demonstrate that fecundity-increasing Wolbachia variants are currently polymorphic in natural populations
