The effectiveness of filters on catfish Clarias gariepinus fry performance in the aquaponic system

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of filters on the growth performances of catfish fry (Clarias gariepinus) in the aquaponic system. The study was conducted in the Ciparanje Green House, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor. A completely randomized design with four treatments and three replications was applied, namely treatment A: Water circulation using bioball filter medium, B: Water circulation using water spinach filter medium, C: Water circulation using bioball and water spinach filter media, and D: Water circulation using sponge filter medium (control). The container used for the maintenance was a fiber tank at 70 cm × 70 cm × 70 cm size filled with 257 L water and a stocking density of 15 fish/fiber. The parameters observed were survival rate, growth, feed conversion, and water quality. The results showed that the use of biological filter using water spinach produced the best growth performance of catfish. The best survival rate was also obtained by using water spinach filter (100%) with the absolute growth of 98.32 ± 15.6 g. The water quality an aquaponic system with water spinach filter supported the growth performance of catfish fry.   Keywords: absolute growth, aquaponic, Clarias gariepinus, filters.   ABSTRAK   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas filter terhadap performa pertumbuhan benih ikan lele Clarias gariepinus dalam sistem akuaponik. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Rumah Kaca Ciparanje, Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan, Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor. Metode penelitian adalah rancangan acak lengkap dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga ulangan, yaitu perlakuan A: sirkulasi menggunakan media filter bioball, B: Sirkulasi menggunakan media filter bayam air, C: Sirkulasi menggunakan media filter bioball dan tanaman kangkung, dan    D : Sirkulasi menggunakan media spons (kontrol). Wadah yang digunakan untuk pemeliharaan bak fiber dengan ukuran 70 cm × 70 cm × 70 cm diisi dengan air sebanyak 257 L dengan padat tebar 15 ekor / bak. Parameter yang diamati adalah kelangsungan hidup, pertumbuhan ikan, konversi pakan dan kualitas air. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan filter biologis menggunakan tanaman kangkung menghasilkan  performa pertumbuhan ikan lele yang terbaik. Tingkat kelangsungan hidup terbaik juga ditunjukkan oleh pelakuran dengan filter berupa tanaman kankung (100%) dan pertumbuhan mutlak 98,32 ± 15,6 g. Trusting Online Reviews Enhances Intention to Book Online: The Perks of Seeking Information?

Research aims: This study aims to analyze factors affecting consumer intention to book hotels from social media and online travel agencies. Specifically, we examine the direct effects of social media usage and electronic word of mouth (e-WoM) and the indirect effect through the mediation of trust in booking intention.Design/Methodology/Approach: Purposively sampled respondents resulted in 409 responses that met the predefined criteria: aged 18-34, active on their social media accounts, and had accessed online booking sites. Regression with mediating analysis was conducted on valid data.Research findings: Analysis results showed that social media usage and e-WoM had a direct, positive, and significant impact on booking intention. It has also proven to have an indirect effect on consumer booking intention mediated by trust. Social media usage and e-WoM directly affected booking intention and had higher valence when mediated by trust.Theoretical contribution/Originality: Information on social media positively influenced consumer purchase intention on online hotel booking due to its completeness. Further, this study is among the few that applied the e-WOM concept to the hospitality sector.Practitioner/Policy implication: The implication for managers is to improve the online booking management system by increasing promptness in response to reviews, especially the negatives.Research limitation/Implication: This study focused on consumers who have social media accounts and accessed online hotel booking sites, limiting its generalizability

Bloodbuddy: a Tracking System for Blood Donor Using GPS

Blood donation is one of the most significant contributions towards the society. Millions of people need blood transfusions each year. Some may need blood during surgery. Others depend on it after an accident or because they have a disease that requires blood components. This study is aim to develop and evaluate the impact of tracking system in the blood shortage situation which is the urgent requirement of the fresh blood and to improve the communication between the hospital and donor. This system will locate the nearest blood donor in cases of emergencies in fastest and easiest way using GPS.The findings on the views of user on the aspects of interface design, navigation and functionality of the web-based application that is developed are presented. PERSPEKTIF ISLAM TERHADAP PEMERKOSAAN DALAM PERNIKAHAN

Paper ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis terjadinya marital rape atau pemerkosaan dalam pernikahan menurut pandangan Al-Qur’an. Istilah marital rape digunakan untuk suatu kejadian suami secara paksa melakukan hubungan seksual dengan istri. Disebut memaksa karena dalam melakukan hubungan seksual pada kondisi istri tidak menginginkannya. Kemudian istilah tersebut menjadi populer dalam studi Islam yang dibahas secara masif oleh kelompok progresif dengan mencarikan legitimasinya secara teologis. Paper ini ditulis menggunakan metode studi tafsir tematik Hasan Hanafi dengan menggunakan starting point dari peristiwa ke teks (minal waqi’ ila an-Nash). Kesimpulan dari paper ini adalah bahwa di dalam Islam, khususnya dalam Al-Qur’an tidak dikenal istilah yang berkaitan secara tersurat dengan marital rape. Justru dengan adanya pernikahan menandakan sahnya hubungan pergaulan antara laki-laki dan perempuan dengan cara yang makruf serta masing-masing berada dalam naungan hak pernikahan. Sehingga di dalam pernikahan hakikinya tidak ada gagasan mengenai pemerkosaan dalam pernikahan. Artikel ini sependapat dengan temuan Marlia dan Dzuhayatin yang menolak adanya bias tafsir terhadap ayat-ayat relasi antara suami dan istri yang tidak equal

ANALISIS RANTAI PASOK BUNGA SEDAP MALAM (Polianthes tuberosa) DI KECAMATAN AMBARAWA

The purpose of this research is to find out the description of performance of the supply chain and analyze the marketing channels for Polianthes tuberosa based on margin calculation and marketing efficiency. The research method used was a survey. Respondents consisted of farmers and actors at the flower marketing agency as well as night. Polianthes tuberosa farmers in Baran Village who were respondents as many as 26 and the number of samples of marketing institutions as many as 30 people consisting of market traders, florists and consumers. The data analysis method used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative based on the supply chain development method in the Asian Productivity Organization (APO). The results of the study show that supply chain performance can be said to be quite good, marked by the fulfillment of demand for Polianthes tuberosa interest to consumers. Clear and directed supply chain goals, good supply chain structure, good supply chain management, sufficient and adequate resources and overall good supply chain performance. There are 3 marketing channels that are already efficient with the value of farmer share in marketing channel I that is 50.19%, marketing channel II which is 50.19% and marketing channel III which is 77.21%

LITERASI MATEMATIS SISWA SEKOLAH MENENGAH PERTAMA BERDASARKAN GENDER PADA KONTEN SPACE AND SHAPE : Survey terhadap Siswa SMP Negeri di Kota Bandung

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji literasi matematis siswa SMP Negeri di Kota Bandung dalam menyelesaikan soal PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) konten space and shape berdasarkan gender. Penelitian ini juga dilakukan untuk mengetahui komponen proses yang unggul dari siswa laki-laki dan perempuan. Lebih jauh lagi, tujuan penelitian ini adalah menyelidiki kesalahan-kesalahan pengerjaan yang dilakukan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal PISA konten space and shape berdasarkan kategori kesalahan Watson. Dalam penelitian ini, digunakan metode kombinasi (kuantitatif dan kualitatif), yaitu survey cross-sectional dan deskriptif kualitatif. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik stratified random sampling. Responden dari penelitian ini terdiri dari 48 siswa laki-laki dan 44 siswa perempuan yang berasal dari tiga klaster SMP Negeri di Kota Bandung, yaitu klaster 1, klaster 2, dan klaster 3. Dalam studi ini dilakukan tes soal PISA konten space and shape dengan mengambil 2 soal dari masing-masing komponen proses: interpret, formulate, dan employ. Hasil studi ini menunjukkan: (1) Siswa SMP Negeri di Kota Bandung memiliki kemampuan literasi matematis yang baik dalam menyelesaikan soal PISA konten space and shape; (2) Tidak terdapat perbedaan komponen proses yang unggul antara siswa laki-laki dan siswa perempuan dalam menyelesaikan soal PISA konten space and shape. Keduanya baik pada proses formulate; (3) Dari 8 jenis kesalahan, semuanya terdapat dalam tes ini. jenis kesalahan terbanyak yang dilakukan oleh siswa adalah kesalahan manipulasi tidak langsung (undirected manipulation/um). ;---This research was conducted to investigate mathematical literacy of state junior high school students in Bandung in solving PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) matter, space and shape content based on gender. It also investigated whether interpret, formulate, or employ process, be the preference from each gender. Furthermore, the aim of this research was to examine what kinds of student’s error occured in solving PISA matter, space and shape content according to error categories of Watson. This research was using combinated method (quantitative and qualitative), there were cross-sectional survey and qualitative-descriptive. The way of taking sample was using stratified random sampling technique. Respondents of this research consist of 48 male students and 44 female students who came from 3 clusters of state school in Bandung. The study employed a test of PISA matter, space and shape content which contains 2 problems from each process component: interpret, formulate, and employ. The result reports that: (1) Junior high school students in Bandung are in a good category of mathematical literacy in solving PISA matter, space and shape content; (2) Male and female students, both are good on formulate process; (3) From 8 kinds of student’s error, all are occurred in this test. But the main kind of error has done by students is undirected manipulation (um)

Pendidikan Praktis Asam Urat: Meningkatkan Kualitas Hidup Lansia di Panti Werdha Kota Makassar

AbstrakAsam urat atau gout adalah gangguan metabolisme purin yang ditandai oleh peningkatan kadar asam urat dalam darah, menyebabkan penumpukan kristal asam urat dan nyeri sendi, terutama pada lansia. Di Indonesia, prevalensi asam urat tinggi dengan lebih dari 355 juta penderita dan prevalensi hiperurisemia mencapai 81%. Wanita menopause memiliki risiko lebih tinggi karena penurunan hormon estrogen. Penanganan asam urat mencakup terapi farmakologis dan non-farmakologis, termasuk edukasi kesehatan yang penting dalam pengendalian asam urat. Pengabdian masyarakat di Panti Werdha Theodora Makassar bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kualitas hidup lansia terkait asam urat melalui edukasi tentang definisi, penyebab, gejala, dan manajemen diet yang sesuai. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi penyuluhan kesehatan dengan ceramah interaktif, distribusi materi edukasi tertulis, dan pemeriksaan kadar asam urat menggunakan alat tes cepat. Pemeriksaan kadar asam urat dilakukan pada 14 lansia, dengan hasil menunjukkan 80% lansia memahami materi yang diberikan. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan kualitas hidup lansia, serta penurunan konsumsi makanan yang dapat meningkatkan kadar asam urat, sehingga dapat memperpanjang usia harapan hidup lansia.Kata kunci: Asam Urat, Edukasi Kesehatan, Lansia
