Operational approach for biharmonic equations in Lp -spaces
International audienceIn this work, we study the existence, uniqueness and maximal L p-regularity of the solution of different biharmonic problems. We rewrite these problems by a fourth order operational equation and different boundary conditions, set in a cylindrical n-dimensional spatial region Ω of R n. To this end, we give an explicit representation formula, using analytic semigroups and invert explicitly a determinant operator in Lp-spaces thanks to H ∞-calculus and operator sums theory.

Chaos and plasticity in superconductor vortices: a low-dimensional dynamics
We present new results of numerical simulations for driven vortex lattices in
presence of random disorder at zero temperature. We show that the plastic
dynamics of vortices display dissipative chaos. Intermittency "routes to chaos"
have been clearly identified below the differential resistance peak. The peak
region is characterized by positive Lyapunov exponents characteristic of chaos,
and low frequency broad-band noise. Furthermore we find a low fractal dimension
of the strange attractor, which suggests that only a few dynamical variables
are sufficient to model the complex plastic dynamics of vortices.Comment: 8 pages, 6 figures, accepted for publication in The Physical Review
Atomic structure of "vitreous" interfacial films in sialon
Atomic resolution imaging of siliceous interfacial films in a sialon has been achieved using transmission electron microscopy at 1000 KV. Although such films have always been reputed as vitreous, we show that they are at least partially crystallized. An atomic model is proposed and simulated. The stability of these films is discussed when special crystallographic relationships exist between the two adjacent grains
