On an attractor for strong solutions to interactive fluid-plate system without rotational inertia

We study long-time dynamics of strong solutions to a non-homogeneous coupled system consisting of linearized 3D Navier--Stokes equations in a bounded domain and the classical (nonlinear) full von Karman plate equations that account for both transversal and lateral displacements on a flexible part of the boundary. Rotational inertia of the filaments of the plate is not taken into account. Our main result is the existence of an attractor in the strong phase space provided lateral external loads are small enough.Comment: 23 page

Stabilization of von Kármán plate in the presence of thermal effects in a subsonic potential flow of gas

AbstractWe discuss the problem of nonlinear oscillations of a clamped plate in the presence of thermal effects in a subsonic gas flow. The dynamics of the plate is described by von Kármán system in the presence of thermal effects, in which rotational inertia is accounted for. To describe influence of the gas flow we apply the linearized theory of potential flows. Our main result states that each weak solution of the problem considered tends to the set of the stationary points of the problem

Political correctness as the basic element of the communicational sphere of the English language (on the material of american publicist texts)

У статті розглянуто проблему політичної коректності у публіцистичних текстах та їх основні функції. Єдине визначення політичної коректності відсутнє в англійському словнику, тому автор намагається розкрити найкоректніше визначення та сферу його вживання. Політична коректність розглядається, як один з найважливіших елементів у комунікаційній сфері. Вона має за мету запобігти дискримінацію різних соціальних груп, які належать до різних видів меншин, таких як: національні, сексуальні тощо. Представники цих та інших соціальних груп завжди знаходяться у зоні ризику дискримінації через різноманітні висловлювання людей, тому завданням політичної коректності є заміна таких слів на нейтральні. Особливо важливою є питання присутності політичної коректності у сфері освіти. Це пов’язано з багатоетнічним складом учнів, тому толерантне відношення до всіх учасників навчального процесу є одним із найголовніших завдань сучасної американської освіти. На прикладах з американських газет та журналів розкрито значення використання найбільш проблематичних визначень та термінів. Автором зазначено, що США є найяскравішим прикладом впровадження та дії норм політичної коректності у суспільстві. Це пов’язано із багатонаціональним складом населення та різними культурними процесами, які відбуваються у країні. ЗМІ відіграє важливу роль у житті суспільства та їх головним завданням є запобігання вживання слів, які можуть дискримінувати певну особистість, цей принцип базується виключно на засадах політичної коректності. (The article deals with the problem of the political correctness in publicist texts and its main functions. The only definition of the political correctness is absent in the English vocabulary, so the author tries to disclose the most correct definitions and sphere of use of this statement. Political correctness is determined to be one of the most important elements in the communicational sphere. It has the aim to avoid the discrimination of different social groups that belong to social minorities such as national, sexual etc. The representatives of these and other social groups have the risk to be discriminated by means of certain statements that are used by people, so the task of the political correctness is to change such words into neutral ones. Especially important is the presence of the political correctness in the sphere of education. The reason of this aspect lies in the multiethnic content of pupils, so the tolerant attitude to all the members of educational process is one of the leading tasks of modern American education. On the examples from American newspapers and magazines the use of the most problematic statements are disclosed. The author has noticed that the USA is a great example of consideration of all the rules of the political correctness. It is connected with multinational content of society and with different cultural processes in the country. Mass media is very important aspect of the social life and to avoid the words that may discriminate certain personalities is its leading task.

Social media marketing in performing art centers

In the reality of an economic recession and increasing competition in all sectors of economy, companies strive to find more effective and efficient ways to increase brand awareness and market their services. This study investigates one such effort used in the entertainment side of the tourism sector – social media marketing. Specifically this research looks at how Performing Art Centers are developing social media marketing. Developing an effective viral marketing strategy within the social media landscape requires being aware of the current usage of social media by Performing Art Centers in their attempt to market the services to their target audiences. There is a growing interest in social media marketing research with only modest research available in the tourism and arts field. To fill this void an online survey was administered to 60 performing arts centers with a total response of 23. The performing art center venues were chosen based on three criteria. These were open-air venues, non-sporting stadiums, and a seating capacity of no more than 30,000. Questions focused on four objectives. The first was to document social media tools used by PACs. The second was to assess the most effective social media tools used in marketing by PACs. The third was to document expenditures on and revenue from social media marketing of PACs. The most common social media tools used by the sample were Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. Among other social media tools Facebook and Twitter were assessed as the most effective used to achieve marketing objectives. Social media was seen as most effective in increasing brand awareness and building strong fan community. It appears that those not using social media tools have plans to do so in the future; however the majority still allocates their resources towards traditional marketing. This study will help other small to medium size tourism attractions and facilities with the use of social media marketing efforts

Cluster initiatives as a competitiveness factor of modern enterprises

The authors study the problem of provision of competitiveness of enterprises in the market economy, consider the existing methodologies of evaluation of competitiveness of enterprises, determine the factors of competitiveness, and offer hypothesis, according to which cluster initiatives facilitate the improvement of values of competitiveness factors and the increase of general competitiveness of enterprise. The authors check their hypothesis, analyzing the cluster’s influence on the formation of competitive advantages of its enterprises and on their competitiveness as a whole. As a result, the authors come to a conclusion that implementation of cluster initiatives facilitates the improvement of main factors of competitiveness of cluster enterprises, as it improves marketing, management, informational and technological component, and human capital and increase market share and market power of enterprises within cluster. As a result of the research the offered hypothesis is proved and it is determined that cluster initiatives facilitate the improvement of values of competitiveness factors and the increase of general competitiveness of enterprise. Development of Cottage Cheese Technology Using Whey Broth of Linder Flowers

The article presents research results of determining the rational amount of whey broth of linden flowers that favored the increase of the goat cottage cheese quality after adding to cheese seeds.It was established, that under the influence of the rational amount of 10-20 % of broth, introduced to cheese seeds of development batches (D 1, D 2) of the products at its setting (instead of the same amount of eliminated cheese whey), there took place the increase of the protein content by 0,3, 0,5 % and moisture by 0,6, 1,7 %, comparing with the control.The use of the rational amount of broth in development batches favored the increase of the product output of 100 kg of skimmed milk by 0,6, 0,8 %, respectively, comparing with the control.Whey broth of linden flowers also stimulated the development of the healthy microflora, which amount in development batches of the product (D1- D2) was higher in 2,5 and 2,8 times, comparing with an analogous result in the control.It maximally bring commodity parameters of development batches of cottage cheese to requirements of the product, manufactured of cow milk, and increases the number of consumers of goat milk products
