Stability Analysis of a Bose-Einstein Condensate Trapped in a Generic Potential

We investigate the dynamical behavior of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation for a Bose-Einstein condensate trapped in a spherical power law potential restricted to the repulsive case, from the dynamical system formalism point of view. A five-dimensional dynamical system is found (due the symmetry of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation interacting with a potential), where the Thomas-Fermi approximation constrains the parameter space of solutions. We show that for values of the power law exponent equal or smaller than 2 the system seems to be stable. However, when the corresponding exponent is bigger than 2, the instability of the system grows when the power law exponent grows, indicating that large values of the aforementioned parameter can be related to a loss in the number of particles from the condensed state. This fact can be used also to show that the stability conditions of the condensate are highly sensitive to the exponent associated with the external potential.Comment: 9 pages, 2 figure

An atypical case of Guillain-Barré: overlap of Miller Fisher syndrome with pharyngeal-cervical-brachial variant

The patient was a 30-year-old female. She had developed dysphagia three days prior to admission. Initially, she only had problem swallowing solids but later the problem progressed to liquids, and after that dysphonia was added. She was visited by a first-level doctor who diagnosed her problem as pharyngotonsillitis and treated her with amoxicillin + clavulanate without improvement. Two days later, diplopia was added, which led her to come to our hospital. Upon arrival, the vital signs were recorded as blood pressure 120/70 mmHg, respiratory rate 18 breaths per minute, temperature 35.7 °C, and O2 saturation 98% in room air. She was alert, oriented in three spheres, normoreflexic, had isochoric pupils with ptosis when making a pathetic look, and had preserved motor and sensory function of the facial nerve. She also had dysphonia, inability to swallow, with difficulty to manage secretions. She had normal thorax with adequate ventilatory mechanics, lung fields with adequate air entry and exit, rhythmic precordium without aggregated auscultator phenomena, globular abdomen at the expense of panniculus adiposus, preserved peristalsis, pelvic limbs with 1/5 bilateral loss of strength, preserved sensitivity, bilateral areflexia, thoracic limbs strength 3/5 bilateral, and ataxic gait

This article is a quantitative and qualitative case study of the Self- Management Program Occupational Safety and Health (P.A.S.S.T.) implemented in twenty-five Mexican companies. The analysis is based on the theories of business ethics, corporate governance and the concept of publicprivate partnerships to explain the achieved link by the Ministry of Labor and Social Prevision (S.T.P.S) and the Private Initiative to improve the safety conditions and health within the companies. After reviewing the results of the data obtained by the companies, it was found that there are financial benefits and quality in processes, derived from the good corporate governance

On the dynamics of a quadratic scalar field potential

We review the attractor properties of the simplest chaotic model of inflation, in which a minimally coupled scalar field is endowed with a quadratic scalar potential. The equations of motion in a flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe are written as an autonomous system of equations, and the solutions of physical interest appear as critical points. ESTUDIO DESCRIPTIVO DE LOS HALLAZGOS DE MÉTODOS NO INVASIVOS, EN NIÑOS CON CRANEOSINOSTOSIS, EN EL PERIODO ENTRE ENERO 2018 A JULIO 2019 DEL CENTRO MÉDICO ISSEMYM.

Monitorizar la presión intracraneana en pacientes con craneosinostosis ha sido un gran reto ya que el estudio Gold standard es mediante estudios invasivos con catéter intraventricular, el cual está asociado a complicaciones importantes (infección, hemorragia intracraneana); además de requerir de sedación, y equipo multidisciplinario con anestesiólogo, intensivista, neurocirujano etc. Múltiples estudios en población adulta han demostrado una alta sensibilidad y especificidad para detección de hipertensión intracraneana (HIC) mediante estudios no invasivos como el ultrasonido transorbital(US-TO) y la tomografía de coherencia óptica(TOC). El US-TO evalúa el diámetro de la vaina del nervio óptico considerado una extensión del sistema nervioso central; el aumento del diámetro normal es dato sugestivo de HIC ; en la TOC mediante el grosor de la capa de la retina y área del disco óptico resultan datos indirectos de HIC . Actualmente carecemos de rangos de valores normales de ambos estudios en población pediátrica, consideramos importante describir los hallazgos US-TO, y la TOC en niños menores de 6 años con diagnóstico de craneosinostosis revisando los expedientes radiológicos de los mismos. Se realizó un análisis descriptivo obteniendo en la TOC una media del área de disco de 1.97 (SD± .45); en la RNFL con media de 87.21(SD±10.54). En el US-TO un diámetro de vaina el nervio óptico con media de .39 (SD± .05). Concluimos aportando los rangos de los tres parámetros estudiados en pacientes con craneosinostosis sin evidencia de hipertensión intracraneana al momento del estudio, es un avance importante para el estudio no invasivo de este tipo de pacientes.UAEM, la autora

Notes oncitizenship and binationality in the electoral context 2018: Mexico-EU

The work presented here seeks to analyze the importance and significance of the political participation of Mexican migrants in the United States as seen from the category of citizenship, through which the scope and interference of compatriots with dual citizenship is analyzed. those who only have binationality, which reflects a clear difference between their rights exercised. The aforementioned is part of the electoral context that Mexico experienced in 2018 and that opened the possibility of voting and exercising it to thousands of Mexicans living in the United States, who were able to pay for the President of the Republic, senators and governors. Likewise, the definition of citizenship seen beyond the traditional concept is opened to the debate, in the understanding that borders are insufficient to limit the exercise of it.El trabajo que aquí se presenta busca abordar la importancia y trascendencia de la participación política de los migrantes mexicanos en Estados Unidos vista desde la categoría de ciudadanía, a través de la cual se analiza el alcance e injerencia de los connacionales que tienen la doble ciudadanía y aquellos que sólo tienen la binacionalidad, lo cual refleja una clara diferencia entre sus derechos ejercidos. Lo anterior se enmarca en el contexto electoral que vivió México en 2018 y que abrió la posibilidad de voto y ejercicio del mismo a miles de mexicanos que radican en Estados Unidos, mismos que lograron sufragar por el Presidente de la República, senadores y gobernadores. Asimismo, se abre al debate la definición de ciudadanía vista más allá del concepto tradicional, en el entendido de que las fronteras son insuficientes para limitar el ejercicio de la misma
