Employment of Second Order Ruled Surfaces in Design of Sheet Beam Guns

    Get PDF
A novel 3D method of sheet beam gun design has recently been developed. Second order ruled surfaces (SORS) can be used to define the geometry of the gun electrodes. The gun design process is made simpler if SORS are derived from analytical formulas. A proposed method is discussed and illustrated

Numerical Simulation of the Medical Linear Accelerator Electron Beams Absorption by ABS-Plastic doped with Metal

    Get PDF
In this paper the numerical simulation results of the dose spatial distribution of the medical electron beams in ABS-plastic doped with different concentrations of lead and zinc are shown. The dependences of the test material density on the lead and zinc mass concentrations are illustrated. The depth dose distributions of the medical electron beams in the modified ABS-plastic for three energies 6 MeV, 12 MeV and 20 MeV are tested. The electron beam shapes in the transverse plane in ABS-plastic doped with different concentrations of lead and zinc are presented

Russia’s high-tech export during the coronavirus infection spread

    Get PDF
Based on data from the Russian Export Centre, Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor) the article analyses the state of hightech exports of the Russian Federation under restrictive measures related to the spread of coronavirus infection. High-tech exports for the period January 2013 to August 2021 and the number of coronavirus infections for the period March 2020 to August 2021 were used as baseline data. The dynamics and volumes of high-tech exports have been considered, the leading and trailing regions in terms of this indicator have been highlighted. A correlation between the number of coronavirus infection cases and the volume of high-tech exports of the regions of the Russian Federation has been revealed, from which it can be concluded that high-tech exporters have so far managed to adapt to the current coronavirus environment

Import of Russian regions under conditions of COVID-19

The article examines the import activities of the subjects of the Russian Federation in the context of the coronavirus infection spread, analyses the import dynamics for 2019–2021, and constructs a regression model of panel data confirming the relationship between imports and the number of COVID-19 cases. It has been found that the number of cases of COVID-19 is directly impact on the import. Import volumes, in value terms, for the period 2019–2021, show a steady increase, which can be explained by an increase in mortality in the Russia, socio-economic consequences associated with the spread of COVID-19, and anticovidal sanitary and epidemiological restrictions

Influence of industrial production of Russian regions on foreign trade indicators

    Get PDF
The study is devoted to the assessment of the impact that industrial production of Russian regions has on the country’s foreign trade performance. The chosen topic is relevant due to the fact that today’s sanctions policy of various Western countries is restricting exports and imports of many types of products, which can serve as a threat to the economic security of the Russian Federation. The author of the article determines the impact of mining, manufacturing, and the provision of electricity, gas and steam on foreign trade performance by using regression analysis of panel data and the Granger causality test. It is found that an increase in mining production contributes to regional export growth but has a negative effect on imports of goods and services. The Granger causality test has not revealed the impact of manufacturing and the provision of electricity, gas and steam on foreign trade indicators

Export development of Russian regions under sanctions restrictions

    Get PDF
The relevance of this study is related to the need to search for drivers of growth in the socio-economic development of the regions of the Russian Federation in the context of a special military operation, since the current unprecedented sanctions restrictions aimed at the Russian economy are causing serious damage to it. Involvement in foreign trade relations, and in particular export, has a positive effect on the socio-economic development of the region. The article analyses the development of Russian regions exports and proposes a spatial model of exports using local and global Moran indices. The model allows us to determine clusters of high and low values ofthe studied indicator, growth poles, zones of influence of growth poles and a cluster of high values, and potential territories that can become export development centers of the Russian Federation in the future

Native and engineered tropism of vectors derived from a rare species D adenovirus serotype 43

Unique molecular properties of species D adenoviruses (Ads)-the most diverse yet underexplored group of Ads-have been used to develop improved gene vectors. The low seroprevalence in humans of adenovirus serotype 43 (Ad43), an otherwise unstudied species D Ad, identified this rare serotype as an attractive new human gene therapy vector platform. Thus, in this study we wished to assess biological properties of Ad43 essential to its vectorization. We found that (1) Ad43 virions do not bind blood coagulation factor X and cause low random transduction upon vascular delivery; (2) they clear host tissues more quickly than do traditionally used Ad5 vectors; (3) Ad43 uses CD46 as primary receptor; (4) Ad43 can use integrins as alternative primary receptors. As the first step toward vectorization of Ad43, we demonstrated that the primary receptor specificity of the Ad43 fiber can be altered to achieve infection via Her2, an established oncotarget. Whereas this modification required use of the Ad5 fiber shaft, the presence of this domain in chimeric virions did not make them susceptible for neutralization by anti-Ad5 antibodies
