We reported previously the life and music in Vienna in the period of 19-20 th century, the time of Kaiser Franz-Josef and the mayor Dr. Karl Lueger (Masuda and Hubl, 1997). People between the two wars, i.e. 1918-39 had a difficult time in terms of society, economy and politics, hoping a better future, but thinking back the 19th century Vienna, as represented by two songs from ""Wiener Lieblinge."" The Role of Application Domain Knowledge in Using OWL DL Diagrams: A Study of Inference and Problem-Solving Tasks

Diagrammatic conceptual schemas are an important part of information systems analysis and design. For effectively communicating domain semantics, modeling grammars have been proposed to create highly expressive conceptual schemas. One such grammar is the Web Ontology Language (OWL), which relies upon description logics (DL) as a knowledge representation mechanism. While an OWL DL diagram can be useful for representing domain semantics in great detail, the formal semantics of OWL DL places a burden on diagram users. This research investigates how user’s prior knowledge of the application domain impacts solving inference tasks as well as schema-based problem-solving tasks using OWL DL diagrams. Our empirical validation shows that application domain knowledge has no effect on inference performance but enhances schema-based problem-solving performance. We contribute to the conceptual modeling literature by studying task performance for a highly expressive modeling grammar and introducing inference tasks as a new task type

Coordination of Just-in-Time Deliveries with Multi-attribute Auctions

Just-in-time deliveries are crucial for many industries. They are particularly essential when the properties of the delivered resource or the demanding processes are sensitive in time. Rigid, centralized planning tends to fail, especially in dynamic environments with distributed decisions and control. Under the constraints of distributed decisions and control, auctions promise an efficient allocation of resources. However, a dedicated design of auctions for just-in-time deliveries, which can be incorporated into the design of an IT artifact, is still lacking. We contribute a linear and a quadratic multi-attribute scoring rule for an automated execution by software. We evaluate the artifact in a simulation experiment and reveal the effects of the scoring rules for just-in-time deliveries. Our results provide evidence that the artifact effectively coordinates just-in-time deliveries, which also holds when considering one additional side constraint

A Survey of the Application of Machine Learning in Decision Support Systems

Machine learning is a useful technology for decision support systems and assumes greater importance in research and practice. Whilst much of the work focuses technical implementations and the adaption of machine learning algorithms to application domains, the factors of machine learning design affecting the usefulness of decision support are still understudied. To enhance the understanding of machine learning and its use in decision support systems, we report the results of our content analysis of design-oriented research published between 1994 and 2013 in major Information Systems outlets. The findings suggest that the usefulness of machine learning for supporting decision-makers is dependent on the task, the phase of decision-making, and the applied technologies. We also report about the advantages and limitations of prior research, the applied evaluation methods and implications for future decision support research. Our findings suggest that future decision support research should shed more light on organizational and people-related evaluation criteria

Restitutional disputes under Act 229/1991 Coll.

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou restitučních sporů dle zákona č. 229/1991 Sb. o úpravě vlastnických vztahů k půdě a jinému zemědělskému majetku. Důvodem pro zpracování tohoto tématu byla zkušenost autora diplomové práce s restitučního spory, rozsáhlost a soudní judikatury zabývající se touto problematikou. Práce se zabývá procesními aspekty restitučních sporů, ale i hmotněprávní stránkou, tvořenou jak zákonnou úpravou, tak bohatou soudní judikaturou. Diplomová práce systematicky popisuje nejvýznamnější typy restitučních sporů - spory o vydání původních odňatých nemovitostí, spory o existence nároku oprávněných osob na náhradu za nemovitosti které nelze vydat, spory o správnou výši nároku oprávněných osob a spory o vydání konkrétních náhradních nemovitostí ve vlastnictví České republiky jako náhradu za nemovitosti které nelze vydat. Práce klade důraz na přelomovou i aktuální soudní judikaturu především Nejvyššího soudu ČR a Ústavního soudu ČR. V práci se autor zamýšlí nad významem uvedené judikatury a dává judikaturní vývoj do souvislosti se změnami v zákonné úpravě a s obecným pohledem na restituce zemědělského majetku. The reason for this topic was the experience of the author of the diploma thesis on restitution disputes, scope and judicial jurisprudence dealing with this issue. The thesis deals with the procedural aspects of restitution disputes, as well as with the substantive law-making aspect of both legal regulation and rich judicial jurisprudence. The diploma thesis systematically describes the most important types of restitution disputes - disputes about the restitution of original removed real estate, disputes about the existence of claims of entitled persons to compensation for immovable properties which can not be restituted, disputes about the correct value of claims of authorized persons and disputes about the grant of specific substitute real estates owned by the Czech Republic as a replacement for real estate that can not be restituted. Zur Fachbereichsarbeit in der Ausbildung zum gehobenen Dienst der Gesundheits- und Krankenpflege

Die vorliegende Arbeit gibt einen Einblick in die Erwachsenenbildung und berufliche Bildung am Beispiel der Gesundheits- und Krankenpflege. Es werden Spannungsfelder bei der Verfassung der schriftlichen Abschlussarbeit der Schülerinnen -- der Fachbereichsarbeit -- geortet und beschrieben. Die gewählte Forschungsmethode -- die dokumentarische Methode in Anlehnung an Nohl -- unterstützt dabei das Erreichen einer Metaposition der Forscherinnen im gewählten Untersuchungsgegenstand. Aufgrund der ausgewerteten narrativen Interviews können die Handlungen von Schülerinnen und Lehrerinnen in einen Orientierungsrahmen gestellt und ihnen übergeordnete Typiken zugeschrieben werden. Die Interpretation der konstruierten Ergebnisse nimmt auf die Spannungsfelder zwischen Schülerinnen und Lehrerinnen Bezug. Fazit und Ausblick enthalten Rückschlüsse und Hinweise, die zu weiteren Betrachtungen anregen.This present paper gives an insight into the adult education and professional education using the example of health and nursing care. Areas of conflict during the preparation of the student’s written thesis are located and described. The chosen research method – the documentary method following Nohl – supports both researchers to achieve a meta-position in the selected subject of study. The evaluated narrative interviews allow the actions of students and teachers to be put into a framework of orientation and superordinated taxonomy. The interpretation of the constructed results examines the areas of tension between students and teachers. The conclusion and prospect contain clues that invite for further investigations

Auditory verbal hallucinations: imaging, analysis, and intervention

In this article, we will link neuroimaging, data analysis, and intervention methods in an important psychiatric condition: auditory verbal hallucinations (AVH). The clinical and phenomenological background as well as neurophysiological findings will be covered and discussed with respect to noninvasive brain stimulation. Semantic Analysis of Web Content

Tato práce se zabývá problematikou sémantického webu, segmentace webových stránek a technologiemi, které se v těchto oblastech využívají. Dále se zaobírá modifikací jedné z metod pro segmentaci webových stránek, konkrétně metodou využívající DOM stromu, s využitím technologií z oblasti sémantického webu. Tedy navrhuje způsob segmentace webové stránky na základě sémantické analýzy obsahu jednotlivých prvků webové stránky. V rámci této práce byla také vytvořena aplikace, která demonstruje funkcionalitu navržené metody. S aplikací byly následně prováděny experimenty, jejichž zhodnocení je také součástí této práce.This work deals with the topics of semantic web, web page segmentation and technologies, which are used in this area. It also deals with a modification of one web page segmentation method, specifically DOM-based segmentation, using semantic web technologies. Thus, this work designs the way of web page segmentation based on semantic analysis of individual elements of the web pages content. An application that demonstrates the functionality of the designed segmentation method was also created within this work. With the implemented application, experiments were performed, whose results are also part of this work.
