The concept of Industry 4.0 represents an innovative vision of what will be the factory of the future. The principles of this new paradigm are based on interoperability and data exchange between dierent industrial equipment. In this context, Cyber- Physical Systems (CPSs) cover one of the main roles in this revolution. The combination of models and the integration of real data coming from the field allows to obtain the virtual copy of the real plant, also called Digital Twin. The entire factory can be seen as a set of CPSs and the resulting system is also called Cyber-Physical Production System (CPPS). This CPPS represents the Digital Twin of the factory with which it would be possible analyze the real factory. The interoperability between the real industrial equipment and the Digital Twin allows to make predictions concerning the quality of the products. More in details, these analyses are related to the variability of production quality, prediction of the maintenance cycle, the accurate estimation of energy consumption and other extra-functional properties of the system. Several tools [2] allow to model a production line, considering dierent aspects of the factory (i.e. geometrical properties, the information flows etc.) However, these simulators do not provide natively any solution for the design integration of CPSs, making impossible to have precise analysis concerning the real factory. Furthermore, for the best of our knowledge, there are no solution regarding a clear integration of data coming from real equipment into CPS models that composes the entire production line. In this context, the goal of this thesis aims to define an unified methodology to design and simulate the Digital Twin of a plant, integrating data coming from real equipment. In detail, the presented methodologies focus mainly on: integration of heterogeneous models in production line simulators; Integration of heterogeneous models with ad-hoc simulation strategies; Multi-level simulation approach of CPS and integration of real data coming from sensors into models. All the presented contributions produce an environment that allows to perform simulation of the plant based not only on synthetic data, but also on real data coming from equipments

Sense of self-efficacy and psychological well-being in people with hearing loss: a systematic review of the literature

Comparing Catalysts of the Direct Synthesis of Hydrogen Peroxide in Organic Solvent: is the Measure of the Product an Issue?

    Get PDF
The direct synthesis of hydrogen peroxide has been for about 20 years a hot topic in \u201cgreen\u201d catalysis. Several methods, which are well established to measure the concentration of hydrogen peroxide in water are also applied to the analysis of reaction mixtures from the direct synthesis of H2O2. However, this step could not be always straightforward, because these mixtures contain almost invariably organic solvents and, sometimes, selectivity enhancers which can interfere in some, at the least, of the most popular titrimetric methods. This work presents a comparative investigation of iodometry, cerimetry, permanganometry (titrimetric methods) and spectrophotometric analysis of TiIV/H2O2 adduct, as applied to analysis of hydrogen peroxide produced by its direct synthesis. They account for more than 90 % of the competent literature since 2000. Their pros and cons are highlighted to provide a guideline for the choice of the best possible method of analysis and for the comparison of catalytic results assessed in different ways in the context of the direct synthesis of hydrogen peroxide

Monte Carlo simulation of an experiment looking for radiative solar neutrino decays

We analyse the possibility of detecting visible photons from a hypothetical radiative decay of solar neutrinos. Our study is focused on the simulation of such measurements during total solar eclipses and it is based on the BP2000 Standard Solar Model and on the most recent experimental information concerning the neutrino properties.Comment: 13 pages, 10 figures, accepted by Astropart. Search for possible neutrino radiative decays during the 2001 total solar eclipse

We present the results of the observations performed in the occasion of the June 21, 2001 total solar eclipse, looking for visible photons emitted trough a possible radiative decay of solar neutrinos. We establish lower limits for the neutrino proper lifetimes larger than 1000 s/eV, for neutrino masses larger than 0.01 eV.Comment: 18 pages, 11 figures, accepted by Astopart. AMS-VegBank: a new database of vegetation plots for the Italian territory

The importance of collection, storage and exchange of georeferenced vegetation plot-based data has significantly grown in the recent decades, because of the new potentialities offered by ecoinformatics. In this article we introduce the Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna vegetation database (AMS-VegBank; GIVD code EU-IT-021) compiling 17,505 georeferenced vegetation-plot observations within a time span of 90 years. This database includes 337,799 occurrence data of vascular plant species, belonging to many different habitat types. The historical relevance of the presented database is highlighted by the presence of some of the most ancient vegetation-plot observations in Europe (years 1930–1938). The geographic coverage of the database is mostly for Italian territory but it includes also data from other countries. The thematic focuses represented in the database are various, such as small Mediterranean islands, the Dolomite Mountains and the Italian National Parks. The large amount of historical plots available for the country not previously included in existing databases, combined with the constant action to improve the georeferencing of existing data and the addition of new data, highlight the uniqueness of this database. AMS-VegBank represents thus an important tool for studying plant biodiversity within the context of continental and global vegetation plot databases
