On this paper we highlight the significance of the Triassic prints in Santisteban del Puerto. Firstly, because they are part of our regional natural heritage; secondly, because the inhabitants who have participated in our interviews declare to be connected with them and that they are part of the individual and collective memory, and that the local families and institutions, as the educational ones or the council, are concerned with the transmission of that legacy. Lastly, we focus in the prints as a didactic means and we put forward an arrangement of interventions for the students to know value and preserve this area. For this to be accomplished, the project “Comunidades de aprendizaje” (“Learning Communities”) would promote some significant learning and would allow the involvement of the educational community; and on field work will succeed in engaging and motivating the students, developing a real learning experience

Treball Final de Màster Universitari en Traducció Medicosanitària. Codi: SBA031. Medical translation in the field of medical devices requires the use of specialised terminology in various fields, as medical terminology is accompanied by terminology from the fields of physics, engineering and information technology, among others. The existence of few terminological resources available to the translator in this field makes his or her work more difficult. The control of this terminology is also practically impossible due to the large number of different medical devices. In this work, research is carried out into the specialised terminology used in radiotherapy medical devices: main characteristics, sources of information and terminological resources. Radiotherapy is a medical treatment prescribed in 70% of cancer patients, which generates different medical textual genres. The terminology compiled has been analysed and organised into a bilingual Spanish-English thesaurus, following the international recommendations for multilingual thesauri UNE-ISO 25964-1:2014. This thesaurus contains the main terminology in the field of radiation oncology and consists of 114 preferred terms. It constitutes a basic nucleus of organized radiotherapy terminology, useful for indexing and for the elaboration of a radiotherapy controlled languag

The main aim of this research was to measure professional skills of our students of the Degree in Primary Education. This is a quite recent topic in research on mathematics education, having a key importance for designing and evaluating teacher training programs. In this paper we describe the analysis carried out about these skills and the analysis of the correlations between them. We found that the formation achieved by these students is limited and, therefore, they may have problems as future teachers of mathematics in Primary Education (pupils aged between six and twelve years). At the same time,  the detected correlations between tested skills are sparse and exist significant differences between girls and boys in geometry skills.

“Education Network” a new way to teach Chemistry

    Get PDF
The complexity of chemistry has implications for the teaching of chemistry. That chemistry is a very complex subject. The majority of the students at University think that chemistry is a difficult discipline and they have difficulty in understanding the concepts. Moreover, students' interest in chemistry decreases the first year at university. The reason for this decrease might be that the contents of chemistry laboratory classes are boring, out of date and lacking of dynamism that students experience through visual media tools. For these reasons, new programs and methodologies should be developed. Those are based on making chemistry relevant through problem solving and collaborative learning hold promise for reforming chemistry education. It is about an education according to circumstances, which is adapted to context and virtual behaviour of people. It's time to CRUSH boredom by transforming your classroom into an Escape Room adventure. School-based escape games are a great teaching tool. The students while playing, learn. The most important point is that they won’t realize they’re doing both at the same time. In this work, an educational gamification experience based on the escape room concept was developed. The first (Do It Yourself) DIY Escape Room was built the year before at Mechanical Engineer Degree started, that took more than three weeks of work. It was presented to other professors to the same subject at different degrees. That DIY Escape Room was modified and adapted to each group. Each professor changed the clues, problems and so on in order to orientate the topic as much as possible to their students.Universidad de Málaga. Campus de Excelencia Internacional Andalucía Tech

Sulfonated Polysulfone/TiO2(B) Nanowires Composite Membranes as Polymer Electrolytes in Fuel Cells

New proton conducting membranes based on sulfonated polysulfone (sPSU) reinforced with TiO2 (B) nanowires (1, 2, 5 and 10 wt.%) were synthesized and characterized. TiO2 (B) nanowires were synthesized by means of a hydrothermal method by mixing TiO2 precursor in aqueous solution of NaOH as solvent. The presence of the TiO2 (B) nanowires into the polymer were confirmed by means of Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy, Fourier transform infrared and X-ray diffraction. The thermal study showed an increase of almost 20 ◦C in the maximum temperature of sPSU backbone decomposition due to the presence of 10 wt.% TiO2 (B) nanowires. Water uptake also is improved with the presence of hydrophilic TiO2 (B) nanowires. Proton conductivity of sPSU with 10 wt.% TiO2 (B) nanowires was 21 mS cm−1 (at 85 ◦C and 100% RH). Under these experimental conditions the power density was 350 mW cm−2 similar to the value obtained for Nafion 117. Considering all these obtained results, the composite membrane doped with 10 wt.% TiO2 (B) nanowires is a promising candidate as proton exchange electrolyte in fuel cells (PEMFCs), especially those operating at high temperatures. The authors would like to thank the following Institution for funding the Projects: Agencia Española de Investigación /Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER/UE): Projects PID2019-106662RBC43 and MAT2016-78362-C4-3-R.

The hydrodynamic theory of macromolecular models composed by spherical elements fails to predict the components of ihe rotational friction tensor for a given axis when the, centers of the elements lye on that axis. Generally, for models with few elements whose sizes are not much smaller than the average of the distances between them, the theory leads to erroneous resülts. We have found a way of correcting the results of the original theory by just adding 6Vη0, V being the the macromolecule's hydrated volume and η0 the viscosity of the solvent, fo the diagonal componentes of the friction tensor. To check he performance of his correction, calcuiations have been made for two kirids of models for which exact results are available.

The Socio-educational, Psychological and Family-Related Antecedents of Entrepreneurial Intentions among Spanish Youth

Despite the abundant scientific literature on entrepreneurship, there is still only limited information on young students’ entrepreneurial intentions. The reasons for this, may be generally found in the different conceptual approaches to entrepreneurial intention, and particularly in the variables that regulate and act as antecedents to such intentions. This bias has generated different lines of investigation into the factors relating to entrepreneurial intention among students. One line of investigation is centered on the variables that influence entrepreneurial intention, in particular, relational, educational, and psychological variables, and another is centered on the antecedents of entrepreneurial intention, amongst which is entrepreneurial interest. In this paper, we seek to analyze the relationship between the entrepreneurial interest of Spanish youth and a set of socio-educational, psychological, and health-related variables using principal component analysis. A previously validated ad hoc questionnaire was administered to 1764 students (15–18 years old). Notably, few Spanish youth expressed significantly high entrepreneurial interest; those who did were mostly men with a family tradition of entrepreneurial parents, who held high perceptions of their health and quality of life, and considered it important in business to detect opportunities beforehand and to create employment. Their principal motives were to improve their professional development, to put their ideas into practice, and to achieve economic independence. This paper proposes the early detection of entrepreneurial interests in young people in order to reinforce these interests as potential long-term initiatives. This research was funded by MINISTRY OF ECONOMY AND COMPETITIVENESS. Studies of the socio-economic function of entrepreneurship have emphasized the critical role that entrepreneurial competence and its implementation play at different stages of the education system. In this paper, as a research objective, we seek to determine the entrepreneurial interest of Spanish youth aged between 15 and 18 years of age enrolled in formal secondary education programs, an initial stage in the development of entrepreneurship. A previously validated ad hoc questionnaire is applied through simple random sampling to 1764 students at secondary school in Spain. A descriptive cross-sectional study is carried out. The analysis is done with Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs), a technique that reduces the high dimensionality of data through Cooperative Maximum Likelihood Hebbian Learning (CMLHL), applying neurocomputational methods to the educational sciences. We find as key results that Spanish youth express a medium level of interest in entrepreneurship. Analysis with ANNs shows that education in entrepreneurial competence is an influential aspect of interest in entrepreneurship. As a conclusion, our results suggest that educational and curricular reforms must be undertaken to promote the development of entrepreneurial competence at various stages of education in order to increase interest in entrepreneurship. This research was funded by MINISTRY OF ECONOMY AND COMPETITIVENESS.
