Annotated checklist and illustrated key to braconid parasitoids (Hymenoptera, Braconidae) of economically important fruit flies (Diptera, Tephritidae) in Brazil

The braconid parasitoids of fruit-infesting flies have been more intensively studied from the middle to late 1990s, when taxonomic research was restarted in Brazil. At the same time, efforts toward the biological control of fruit flies intensified, and an exotic species, Diachasmimorpha longicaudata, was introduced. In the decade 2010, another exotic species, Fopius arisanus, was introduced, and two new species of Doryctobracon were described. Currently, 12 species of braconids from the subfamilies Alysiinae (two species) and Opiinae (10 species) are associated with fruit flies of economic importance in Brazil, two of which are introduced species. More than half of the species belong to the genus Doryctobracon, with D. areolatus (Szépligeti) the most widely distributed species in Brazil.Fil: Fidelis Marinho, Claudia. Ectopic pregnancy after use of hormonal emergency contraception: a case report

Ectopic pregnancy is the implantation and development of the ovum outside the uterine cavity; it needs a quick diagnosis and an urgent treatment. The presence of the corpus luteum in the ovary that is contralateral to the ectopic pregnancy is presumptive evidence for ovum transmigration, which may be the cause of ectopic pregnancy. In 1994, a multinational clinical trial proved the superiority of levonorgestrel over the existing emergency contraceptive products. In the present study, we describe the case of a 27-year-old woman with ectopic pregnancy and a contralateral corpus luteum after use of hormonal emergency contraception (levonorgestrel), because of failure of the used contraception method (condom). The patient was treated with laparoscopic surgery that was successful.Gravidez ectópica é a implantação e o desenvolvimento do ovo fora da cavidade uterina; impõe diagnóstico precoce e assistência de urgência. Gravidez ectópica com corpo lúteo contralateral presume ocorrência de transmigração do zigoto para a tuba uterina do lado oposto, o que pode ser responsável pela sua ocorrência. Em 1994, o levonorgestrel teve sua eficácia comprovada como superior à dos outros métodos para contracepção de emergência. É relatado caso de paciente de 27 anos que apresentou gravidez ectópica, de localização tubária, com corpo lúteo contralateral, após uso de contracepção de emergência por falha do método anticoncepcional de escolha (preservativo masculino). Im Juni 2004 fanden sich mindestens vier Exemplare auf einer Winterlinde (Tilia cordata) im Stadtteil Hellern.A report is given on the first record of the mistletoe (Viscum album L.) in the city of Osnabrück (Lower Saxony). Ethnicity and Neighbourhoods: Looking Backward, Facing Forward

Robert Harney was the most important influence on the history of urban ethnicity in Canada. We will examine how Harney and those who worked closely with him approached this phenomenon in the exciting period of the 1970s and 1980s. The second half of the article acknowledges the recent interest in immigrants, ethnicity, and the urban setting and suggests new avenues of research in this area.Robert Harney a été une influence majeure dans le domaine de l’histoire de l’ethnicité urbaine au Canada. Nous analyserons comment Harney et ses collaborateurs de travail approchaient ce phénomène pendant la période des années 70 et 80. La deuxième partie de l’article présente le renouveau d’intérêt pour les immigrants, leur ethnicité et leur milieu urbain et ouvre la porte à de nouvelles pistes de recherches dans ce domaine

Zur Fischfauna von Ruller Flut und Nette, Landkreis Osnabrück : mit 1 Tabelle

Band 7/1980 der Osnabrücker Naturwissenschaftlichen Mitteilungen enthält 5 Beiträge zur Limnologie der Nette. Die Arbeiten von BINKOWSKI, M. HOFFMEISTER, W. HOFFMEISTER und SCHROEDER (a & b) befassen sich mit der Libellenfauna, Kleintierwelt, Algenvegetation und Wassergüte von Ruller Flut und Nette. Angeregt wurden diese Untersuchungen durch eine Arbeit, die von KREUZBERG (1927) verfaßt worden ist. In ihr wird erstmals auf die "Hydrographie und Biologie" der Nette eingegangen. Die Ergebnisse werden besonders von M. HOFFMEISTER (1980) mit der Situation in den Jahren 1976-1977 verglichen. Bei der Bewertung der Ergebnisse der neueren Arbeiten kommt SCHROEDER (1980 b) zu der Ansicht, daß die Gemeinsamkeiten bei der Beurteilung der Gewässergüte (2 - 3, mit zeitweiser Tendenz nach 3) überwiegen.
