Surface layer composition of titania produced by various methods: the change of layer state under illumination

The comparative analysis of experimental data over titanium dioxide powders prepared by various ways under ambient air is carried out. The results over TiO2 prepared by high-temperature heating of anatase, produced by burning of titanium micro particles and grinding of rutile crystal are used for that comparison. Water and carbon dioxide were the main products released from the surface of the titania powders. It was found that under UV irradiation absorbed by titania, in absent oxygen, water effectively reacts with lattice oxygen of titanium dioxide

VARIANTS OF ANATOMY STRUCTURE IN SIBERIAN SALAMANDER POPULATIONS (SALAMANDRELLA KEYSERLINGII DYBOWSKY, 1870, AMPHIBIA, HYNOBIIDAE)

Were analyzed variants of the structure of Siberian salamander juvenile's limbs from natural populations. It was found that share of individuals with structure deviated from standart is 79,2 %. It was mentioned variants with polymerization and oligomerization of the constituent elements. Polimerization is more frequent variant. To clarify the concepts of normal limb structure of Siberian salamander is needed more researches.Анализируются варианты строения конечностей сеголеток сибирского углозуба из природных популяций. Установлено, что доля особей с вариантами строения, отклоняющимися от стандартных, составила 79,2 %. Отмечены как полимеризация, так и олигомеризация составляющих элементов. Чаще встречаются варианты с полимеризацией. Long-term observation of amphibian populations inhabiting urban and forested areas in Yekaterinburg, Russia

This article presents data derived from a 36 year-long uninterrupted observational study of amphibian populations living in the city and vicinity of Yekaterinburg, Russia. This area is inhabited by six amphibian species. Based on a degree of anthropogenic transformation, the urban territory is divided into five highly mosaic zones characterized by vegetation, temperature, and a distinctive water pollution profile. Population data is presented year-by-year for the number of animals, sex ratio, and species-specific fecundity including the number and quality of spawns for the following amphibian species: Salamandrella keyserligii, Rana arvalis, R. temporaria, Lissotriton vulgaris, and Pelophylax ridibundus. These data provide an excellent opportunity to assess an urban environment from an animal population-wide perspective, as well as revealing the forces driving animal adaptation to the anthropogenic transformation of habitats
