Product service bundle (PSB) is a marketing strategy that offers attractive product-service packages with competitive pricing to ensure sustained profitability. However, designing suitable pricing for PSB is a non-trivial task that involves complex decision-making. This paper explores the significance of pricing optimization in the telecommunication industry, focusing on product-service bundling (PSB). It delves into the challenges associated with pricing PSB and highlights the transformative impact of big data analytics on decision-making for PSB strategies. The study presents a data-driven pricing optimization model tailored for designing appropriate pricing structures for product-service bundles within the telecommunication services domain. This model integrates customer preference knowledge and involves intricate decision-making processes. To demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed approach, the paper conducts a case study encompassing two design scenarios, wherein the results reveal that the model offers competitive pricing compared to existing telecommunication service providers, facilitating PSB design and decision-making. The findings from the case study indicate that the data-driven pricing optimization model can significantly aid PSB design and decision-making, leading to competitive pricing strategies that open avenues for new market exploration and ensure business sustainability. By considering both product and service features concurrently, the proposed model provides a pricing reference for optimal decision-making. The case study validates the feasibility and effectiveness of the approach within the telecommunication industry and highlights its potential for broader applications. The model's capability to generate competitive pricing strategies offers opportunities for new market exploration, ensuring business growth and adaptability

In this paper, we proposed another new form of type-2 fuzzy data points(T2FDPs) that is perfectly normal type-2 data points(PNT2FDPs). These kinds of brand-new data were defined by using the existing type-2 fuzzy set theory(T2FST) and type-2 fuzzy number(T2FN) concept since we dealt with the problem of defining complex uncertainty data. Along with this restructuring, we included the fuzzification(alpha-cut operation), type-reduction and defuzzification processes against PNT2FDPs. In addition, we used interpolation B-soline curve function to demonstrate the PNT2FDPs.Comment: arXiv admin note: substantial text overlap with arXiv:1304.786

Cyclist Performance Classification System based on Submaximal Fitness Test

    Get PDF
Performances among cyclist always measured by time traveled from start to finish line and then the winner in cycling event also decided by time or who crossed the finish line first. On the other hand, cyclist performance can be measured through cardiorespiratory and physical fitness, and this performance can be enhanced by proper training to increase fitness and skill without burden. A wireless sensor network (WSN) system developed by combined various sensing element to capture physiological and bicycle’s kinetics feedback. Physiological data such as heart rate variability (HRV) and kinetic data such as paddling power and cadence used as input in Astrand-Ryhming and PWC150 submaximal test to classify the performance group among cyclist. Developed HRV system using Photoplethysmography (PPG) provides the significant output with R2 value was 0.967. A group of 15 cyclists from three different backgrounds was used as a subject in this study. Maximal oxygen intake (VO2max) produced by AstrandRyhming test correlated with estimated paddling power produced by PWC150 test with P<0.01 and the R2 value was 0.8656. Discriminant analysis was 88.3% successfully classified cyclist into 3 group and group of trained and untrained cyclist clearly separated

<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Measurement of health-related quality of life (HRQOL) among patients with osteoarthritis (OA) helps the health care provider to understand the impact of the disease in the patients' own perspective and make health services more patient-centered. The main aim of this study was to measure the quality of life among patients with symptomatic knee OA attending primary care clinic. We also aimed to ascertain the association between socio-demographic and medical status of patients with knee OA and their quality of life.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>A clinic based, cross sectional study using the Short Form-36 (SF-36) questionnaire was conducted in two primary care health clinics in Hulu Langat, Selangor, Malaysia over a period of 8 months. The nurses and medical assistants were involved in recruiting the patients while the family physicians conducted the interview.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>A total 151 respondents were recruited. The mean age was 65.6 ± 10.8 years with females constituted 119 (78.8%) of the patients. The mean duration of knee pain was 4.07 ± 2.96 years. Half of the patients were overweight and majority, 138 (91.4%), had at least one co-morbidity, the commonest being hypertension. The physical health status showed lower score as compared to mental health component. The domain concerning mental health components showed positive correlation with age. There was a significant negative correlation between age and physical functioning (p < 0.0005) which indicated the deterioration of this domain as patients became older. Male respondents had better scores in most of the QOL dimensions especially in the physical functioning domain (p = 0.03). There was no significant association between QOL with different education levels, employment status and marital status. Patients with higher body mass index (BMI) and existence co-morbidities scored lower in most of the QOL domains.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>This study has shown that patients with knee OA attending primary care clinics have relatively poor quality of life pertaining to the physical health components but less impact was seen on the patients' mental health.</p

Two-flow magnetohydrodynamical jets around young stellar objects

We present the first-ever simulations of non-ideal magnetohydrodynamical (MHD) stellar winds coupled with disc-driven jets where the resistive and viscous accretion disc is self-consistently described. The transmagnetosonic, collimated MHD outflows are investigated numerically using the VAC code. Our simulations show that the inner outflow is accelerated from the central object hot corona thanks to both the thermal pressure and the Lorentz force. In our framework, the thermal acceleration is sustained by the heating produced by the dissipated magnetic energy due to the turbulence. Conversely, the outflow launched from the resistive accretion disc is mainly accelerated by the magneto-centrifugal force. We also show that when a dense inner stellar wind occurs, the resulting disc-driven jet have a different structure, namely a magnetic structure where poloidal magnetic field lines are more inclined because of the pressure caused by the stellar wind. This modification leads to both an enhanced mass ejection rate in the disc-driven jet and a larger radial extension which is in better agreement with the observations besides being more consistent.Comment: Accepted for publication in Astrophysics & Space Science. The closure of Higher Education Institutions and Schools due to COVID-19 pandemic has affected the structure of Learning and Teaching (T&L) from direct method at institutions to Open and Distance Education (ODE) completely. All face-to-face T&L activities are not allowed except for certain categories of students who need to return to campus in stages to participante in T&L activities in full compliance of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) set by prioritizing safety measures and social distancing. This study used a quantitative approach by using online questionnaire as instrument (google form). A total of 73 Technical and Vocational Education (TVE) students from various backgrounds of respondents participated in the study. The findings of the study showed that there was a strong correlation between the aspects of interest and gender of TVE students in using learning videos during the COVID-19 pandemic period (r = .701). Therefore, all parties must prepare to face the new norm, namely the ODL method as a whole during the COVID-19 pandemic period to continue the T&L process for students

    Get PDF
In this study, we introduce curvature optical fiber sensor utilizing high sensitivity microfiber having a potential for pipeline monitoring system. The size of standard single mode fibers was narrowed down to different sizes with diameters of 10, 15 and 20 µm. Meanwhile, the up and down tapers were maintained at 2 mm, each, with waist lengths, were fixed at 15 mm, each. In this work, the microfibers with 15 and 20 µm of diameter sizes were able to detect a high bending sensitivity with the response of 3.4 nm/m−1 and 4.92 nm/m−1 by using an optical spectrum analyzer with 0.02 nm of optical resolution. This strategy is beneficial and practical in contrast to the ordinary system of utilizing a couple of hundred km ultrasonic long-range for pipeline monitoring. The proposed design can be permanently conceived in the pipeline to reduce the cost to achieve areas which require rehashed examinations

Utilization of Sodium Hydroxide (Naoh) to Treat Used Tyres as Sand Partial Replacement in Engineered Cementitious Composites

    Get PDF
Engineered cementitious composites (ECC) is distinct for the tensile strain-hardening behaviour and tensile ductility contrasting to the quasi-brittle nature of ordinary concrete. The blended materials of ECC only consist of cement, sand, water, fibre, and admixture. The depleting and limited resources of sand in many countries have led to the research on alternative materials to replace sand partially or fully in the concrete mixture. Therefore, this study aims to utilize the crumb rubber (CR) in ECC as a partial sand replacement to enhance the ductility and energy dissipation capacity of the composite. The additional of CR in the ECC cause reduction of compressive strength of the composites due to its smooth surface resulting to less bonding with cement matrix. Hence, the CR is being treated with 10% sodium hydroxide (NaOH) to improve its surface roughness and enhance the adhesion between CR and cement matrix in the composites. The compressive strength results for ECC contained CR treated for duration of 2 days and 4 days were recorded. Two days is the optimum duration of CR treatment using 10% sodium hydroxide (NaOH) to lessen the reduction of the compressive strength of the rubberized engineered cementitious composites (R-ECC)
