The case-law of the Court of Justice of the EU in the area of human rights protection

    No full text
This bachelor's thesis deals with the protection of human rights in the European Union. It describes how the protection of human rights developed and what was the role of the Court's case-law. The thesis then focuses on the prohibition of discrimination based on sex, particularly in the area of remuneration. One of the parts also describes the preliminary ruling procedure, the type of procedure in which the Court began to deal and still dealing with the human rights (among others). The main part of the thesis consists of the analysis of selected judgements of the Court in the area of equal pay for men and women. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to outline the development of human rights protection in the EC/EU with a focus on the equality between men and women in pay for equal work

Non-compete clause in the employment law

    No full text
This thesis examines the legal regulation of the competitive behavior of employees with the emphasis on non-competition clause. This thesis aims to critically evaluate the status of the current legislation regarding the non-compete clauses and suggest what changes should be made in order to the non-compete clause would be used effectively and fulfill its purpose. The thesis analyzes in detail the historical development of non-competition clauses in the Czech republic and further explores this institute in the light of current legislation, case law and expert opinions. It also compares the legislation of this clause in four foreing countries - France, Great Britain, Germany and Slovakia. Finally, this thesis shows how non-comptete clauses are used in practice and if employers believe in their effectiveness as a tool for the protection of know-how

The effect of pre-processing and grain structure on the bio-corrosion and fatigue resistance of magnesium alloy AZ31

    Get PDF
Magnesium alloys are considered as candidate materials for temporary implants. Fatigue resistance and controllable rate of corrosion in bodily fluids are essential for such applications. The effect of the grain structure produced by hot rolling and equal channel angular pressing on the fatigue behaviour and the bio-corrosion rate were studied for alloy AZ31. The results suggest that mechanical processing can be used to control both properties

Enhanced superplasticity in a magnesium alloy processed by equal-channel angular pressing with a back-pressure

An investigation was initiated to evaluate the feasibility of using equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) to obtain high superplastic elongations in the AZ31 alloy with a back pressure producing a bimodal grain structure. Processing by ECAP was performed using a die with an angle of 90 ° between the two parts of the channel and a ram velocity of 15-20 mm/sec. Some pressing were conducted with a back-pressure by making use of a backward punch in the exit channel of the die. Molybdenum disulphide and a graphite spray were used as lubricants and billets were pressed using processing route B c in which each billet is rotated by 90 °. The pressing were conducted at temperatures in the range from 423 to 523 K and every billet was quenched in water after each pass. The significance of the bimodal microstructure is attributed to the ability of the larger grains to more easily accommodate grain boundary sliding through intragranular slip and twinning and to contribute to the strain hardening capability
