YORUBA CULTURE INFLUENCE INTO CONTEMPORARY STAGE THROUGH WOLE SOYINKA’S THE SWAMP DWELLERS

This paper aims to observe the full development of literature on the African continent through special attention to a world-leading literary scholar from Africa, Wole Soyinka with his masterpiece drama the Swanp Dwellers. This paper also explore the history of the greatness of Wole Soyinka who continually nurtured Yoruba cultural traditions through her works. More interestingly, the description of Yoruba culture is not only seen in his works, but also has colored the life of the author himself. Although his mind and personality were influenced by the outside world when he continued his studies in the United Kingdom, his love and love for local cultural traditions, especially Yoruba culture, remained something to be prioritized. The method used is descriptive qualitative by using content analysis approach . The result of the research shown that the Yoruba culture with contemporary stage reflected into swamp dweller drama and had been influenced others cultural  over the whole of Africa till now.Keywords: Yoruba, Wole Soyinka, Swamp Dwellers Abstrak Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengamati secara utuh perkembangan  sastra di benua Afrika melalui perhatian khusus kepada seorang sarjana sastra terkemuka dunia yang berasal dari Afrika  yaitu Wole Soyinka dengan drama terkenalnya the Swamp Dwellers.  Tulisan ini juga akan menelusuri sejarah kehebatan Wole Soyinka yang secara terus menerus menyuburkan tradisi budaya Yoruba melalui karya-karyanya. Lebih menarik lagi penjabaran budaya Yoruba tidak hanya terlihat pada karya-karyanya, namun juga telah mewarnai kehidupan pengarang itu sendiri . Walaupun pikiran dan pribadinya telah dipengaruhi oleh dunia luar sewaktu beliau melanjutkan studinya di United Kingdom, namun cinta dan rasa kasihnya kepada tradisi budaya setempat terutama budaya Yoruba tetap menjadi sesuatu yang harus diutamakan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif melalui pendekatan content analisis. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa budaya Yoruba dengan latar kontemporer tergambarkan melalui drama swamp dweller yang ditulis oleh Wole Soyinka dan juga telah mempengaruhi budaya lainnya di afrika hingga saat ini.. Kata kunci: Yoruba , Wole Soyinka, Swamp Dwelle

Analysis of Spelling Error In Dissertation Based on the General Guideline for Indonesian Spelling (Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia)

This study aims at describing and classifying forms of misspelling in dissertations based on General Guideline for Indonesian Spelling (Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia [PUEBI]). It is a descriptive qualitative study. The type of data obtained in this study is document text, consisting of primary data sourced from dissertation and secondary data sourced from related documents. Data collection is carried out by using text analysis, documentation, and recording techniques. The result of this research shows that spelling errors in dissertation include 10 errors of writing capital letter, 9 errors of writing italic, 14 errors of forming word, 5 errors of using full stop mark, 5 errors of using comma sign, 1 error of using colon sign, and 6 errors of using quotation mark. Maximum errors are in the use of punctuation and the word formation. Based on the result, it can be concluded that there are still many spelling errors in writing dissertation. Therefore, it needs more effort to understand the rules of writing, such as the use of standard words, PUEBI, capital letter, punctuation, and word formation to make a good writing, especially in writing dissertation

Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe NHT (Numbered Head Together) Menggunakan Rangkaian Limbah Detergen Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa Pada Materi Energi

Learning undertaken to achieve the educational goals and objectives of national development in general. To achieve the goal of education is carried out of learning by using learning models. The learning model should be involving the students actively in the teaching and learning activities, in order to improve learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is determine the learning outcomes of students with cooperative learning model type NHT (Numbered Head Together) using a series of waste detergents on the material energy. The method used in this research is experimental research method. Population is this research is as many 198 students of class X IPA which consists of 6 classes. While the sample as many 32 students of class X IPA 5. Based on the results of research in the analysis using the t test showed tcount = 4,03 with the ttable=1,9954 on the significant level of 5%. Because tcount > ttable then it can be concluded that there is an increase student learning outcomes using cooperative learning model type of NHT (Numbered Head Together) on as series of waste detergents on the material energi in the class X IPA 5 SMA Negeri 3 Langsa. Transcendental Approach into Danarto’s Selected Short Stories

This study aimed to analyze the transcendental approach depicted in selected short stories written by Danarto. This approach seeks to show how far the transcendental approach has colored the anthology of short stories written by Danarto (1992) and how that approach described through his works. Generally, the resulting works relies on tasawuf kejawen obtained through spiritual, religious, mystic, mystical, and divine experience into themes in each of his works. There are five short stories that made the object of research were anthology of godlob, anthology of Adam Ma’rifat, anthology of Berhala, anthology of Gergasi and anthology of Setangkai Melati di Sayap Jibril. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative through content analysis techniques refers to Fraenkel and Wallen (2012) stating that content analysis is a technique used to assess human behavior indirectly in some short stories written by Danarto. The results of this study showed that the transcendental approach was seen in the short stories produced by Danarto through characters, symbols, the absurdity of the story, the meaning of the story itself, the formation of a separate world not limited by the author’s space, time and events and personal experiences. This showed that the author in producing his works tends to position himself as a creature of Allah Almighty and his unification with Allah Almighty becomes the highest point in his fusion with the Creator of Universe.   Keywords: trancendental, Short Stories, Creator of Univers

Pengaruh Penerapan Model Kooperatif Tipe Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) Terhadap Hasil Belajar Fisika

Pendekatan yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah pendekatan langsung dan pendekatan kelompok. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen, sesuai dengan tujuan dari penelitian penulis untuk dapat mengetahui hasil pembelajaran fisika dengan menggunakan model kooperatif tipe TAI dan melihat perbedaan antara penerapan model pembelajaran tipe TAI dengan pembelajaran langsung. Data ini digunakan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan hasil belajar siswa kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen terhadap materi suhu dan kalor. Ada pengaruh hasil belajar siswa pada materi yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model kooperatif tipe TAI lebih baik dari pada hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajarn langsung. Respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model kooperatif tipe TAI pada kelas eksperimen adalah baik. Ini terlihat pada persentase yang telah dirincikan yaitu pendapat siswa terhadap komponen pembelajaran 91,63% senang, 93,3% baru, 93,3% menarik dan berminat untuk mengikuti KBM selanjutnya dengan model kooperatif tipe TAI 94,4%. ANALISIS MAJAS IRONI PADA SURAT KABAR PROHABA

Artikel ini mendeskripsikan majas ironi yang terdapat pada  judul dan isi berita dalam Surat Kabar Prohaba. Artikel ini merupakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskripif. Sumber data dalam artikel ini adalah surat kabar Prohaba yang terbit pada bulan April 2020.  Sumber data yang diambil keseluruhannya berjumlah 30 buah  koran dari 30 hari. Data yang diambil secara acak setiap harinya mulai tanggal 1-30 April 2020.  Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam artikel ini adalah teknik dokumentasi dan teknik catat. Adapun teknik analisis yang digunakan terbagi ke dalam tiga tahapan diantaranya yaitu: (1) data yang telah diseleksi kemudian dideskripsikan ke dalam sebuah tabel sesuai dengan jenis majas ironi, (2) memberikan nomor pada berita yang telah dipilih, (3) kemudian ditarik kesimpulan hasil analisis majas ironi pada Judul dan isi surat kabar Prohaba seluruhnya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan data seluruhnya berjumlah tiga puluh tiga majas ironi yang tersebar ke dalam judul dan isi berita surat kabar Prohaba. Dua belas data dari judul dan dua puluh satu data dari isi berita. Penulis berharap kepada wartawan agar dapat diadakannya suatu perbaikan yang lebih baik lagi mengenai beberapa pemilihan kata yang  masih terlihat samar-samar dalam penggunaannya pada surat kabar Prohaba agar masyarakat dapat lebih mudah memahami  berita yang disampaikan

ANALISIS KONFLIK DALAM NOVEL KURA-KURA BERJANGGUT KARYA AZHARI AIYUB

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan konflik eksternal dan konflik internal yang terdapat dalam novel Novel Kura-Kura Berjanggut karya Azhari Aiyub. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan struktural. Penelitian ini termasuk ke dalam jenis penelitian deskriptif. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu konflik eksternal dan konflik internal yang terdapat dalam novel Kura-Kura Berjanggut karya Azhari Aiyub. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik dokumentasi Teknik analisis data dengan mengggunakan analisis kualitatif. Konflik eksternal adalah konflik yang terjadi di luar diri tokoh fiksi sedangkan konflik internal adalah konflik yang terjadi dalam diri atau pikiran tokoh yang disebut dengan konflik batin.  Hasil penelitian dalam novel Kura-kura Berjanggut karya Azhari Aiyub menunjukkan tentang konflik eksternal dan konflik internal yang dialami oleh tokoh. Novel Kura-kura Berjanggut menunjukkan beberapa konflik yang terjadi pada tokoh yaitu konflik manusia dengan manusia yang berupa perdebatan, perkelahian, dan pertengkaran. Konflik manusia dengan masyarakat, konflik manusia dengan alam sekitar, dan konflik internal yang terdiri atas suasana hati tokoh dan ketakutan yang dialami oleh tokoh dalam cerita. Penulis berharap kepada pengarang novel Kura-kura Berjanggut agar menampilkan cerita sesuai dengan judul agar memudahkan pembaca dalam memahami cerita.&nbsp

Learning Design for Light Wave Oriented to the Multiple-Representations of High School Students in East Aceh

Several studies have shown a deficiency in multiple-representation skills among high school students in East Aceh, where the learning process has not fully accommodated the development of these skills. This research aims to develop a learning design focused on enhancing students' multiple-representation abilities in the subject of light waves. The methods used include surveys and design research, with data collection utilizing validation sheets, pretests, posttests, and interviews. The validation results indicate a very valid category for question instruments, worksheets, and media. An initial survey of 30 high school students in East Aceh revealed an average initial multiple-representation ability of 28.4%. After limited implementation of the learning design, students' multiple-representation ability increased to an average of 61.8%. Thus, this learning design has proven effective in enhancing students' multiple-representation skills. Future research could evaluate its application in other subject materials

PENGEMBANGAN PERANGKAT PEMBELAJARAN KONVERSI ENERGI GERAK MENJADI ENERGI LISTRIK SKALA LABORATORIUM

Fisika adalah Permasalah utama yang sering terjadi pada pelaksanaan kegiatan praktikum fisika adalah ketiadaan alat/perangkat praktikum yang dibutuhkan dalam memahami konsep fisika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul konversi energi berdasarkan perangkat konverter energi gerak menjadi energi listrik. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian pengembangan dengan langkah-langkah Define, Design, Develop. Define merupakan hasil observasi lapangan dan analisis kebutuhan pengembangan modul pada praktikum fisika dasar di Laboratorium Dasar Universitas Samudra. Design merupakan tahap perancangan perangkat konverter energi gerak-listrik serta rancangan modul yang sesuai. Develope merupakan tahap pengembangan modul berdasarkan perangkat yang sudah jadi. Pada tahap ini dilakukan expert judgment oleh dosen ahli sebagai bahan revisi. Judgment yang dilakukan adalah menentukan keakuratan instrument/ draft modul baik dari segi isi maupun konstruksi. Produk akhir dari penelitian ini adalah berupa perangkat konverter energi gerak-listrik beserta modul pembelajaran yang telah dikembangkan berdasarkan perangkat konverter. INCREASING STUDENTS VOCABULARY THROUGH INDEPENDENT READING TO THE SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMP N 3 LANGSA

This research has purpose to prove teaching vocabulary through independent reading increase students’ interest in studying vocabulary, to know the advantages of learning vocabulary through independent reading and to find out and solved the problems that faced by the students in teaching vocabulary through independent reading. The populations of this research are the whole students of SMP Negeri 3 Langsa and as the samples of this study is one class of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Langsa, which consist of 39 students. To get the relevant data, the researcher used library research and field research. The data in this study has analyzed by using Mean formula suggested by Anas Sudijono. From the calculation of the data showed that, the result of mean from pretest is 61 and mean from post test is 69, from the result it happened improvement about 8 point. From the result the researcher conclude teaching vocabulary through independent reading increase students’ achievement in studying vocabulary
