    Role of the Psychiatric Nurse in Improving the Psychosocial Health of Families After Suicide

    Suicide is defined as death that occurs as a result of deliberate self-harming behavior with the intention of ending one's life. Each suicide has many physical, economic and psychological short and long-term effects on the individual, family, friends and society. The death of an individual as a result of suicide creates a traumatic effect for family members and causes family members to experience various psychosocial problems. For this reason, it is very important to focus on the consequences of suicide in family members who have lost due to suicide, to evaluate the family's reactions to suicide, and to provide the needed psychosocial support. In this context, in this review, it is aimed to review the literature on the psychosocial problems experienced by families who have lost due to suicide and to present up-to-date information on the role of psychiatric nurse in improving the psychosocial health status of families

    PHYSICIAN BURNOUT LEVELS AND ASSOCIATED FACTORS IN THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

    Introduction: Burnout, characterized by emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and low personal accomplishment, is frequently observed in physicians. Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine burnout levels and associated factors in physicians during the pandemic. Material and Method: This cross-sectional study was performed online with 288 physicians from various fields in Erzurum. Sociodemographic questions and the Maslach Burnout Inventory represented the data collection tools. The data were collected online in May and June 2021. Statistical analysis: Descriptive statistics, Student's t and ANOVA tests And Multiple ordinal logistic regression analysis were used. p values <0.05 were regarded as significant. Analysis was performed on SPSS 22. Results: Physicians’ mean emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal accomplishment component scores were 20.1±8.3, 6.7±4.5, and 21.1±4.5, respectively. Analysis showed that 49.7% of physicians exhibited moderate-high emotional exhaustion, 35.8% high-moderate depersonalization, and 69.8% signs of low personal accomplishment. Job title, regret concerning selecting the medical profession, satisfaction with the working environment, number of additional monthly out-of-hours shifts worked, regular sporting activity, and assessment of the physical conditions in the working environment emerged as factors affecting burnout components at regression analysis. Conclusion: The participants’ burnout levels were high. The planning of effective interventions addressing individual and work-related factors with a holistic approach is essential to halt this rapidly growing epidemic

    The Sariçiçek Howardite Fall in Turkey: Source Crater of HED Meteorites on Vesta and İmpact Risk of Vestoids

    The Sariçiçek howardite meteorite shower consisting of 343 documented stones occurred on 2 September 2015 in Turkey and is the first documented howardite fall. Cosmogenic isotopes show that Sariçiçek experienced a complex cosmic ray exposure history, exposed during ~12–14 Ma in a regolith near the surface of a parent asteroid, and that an ~1 m sized meteoroid was launched by an impact 22 ± 2 Ma ago to Earth (as did one third of all HED meteorites). SIMS dating of zircon and baddeleyite yielded 4550.4 ± 2.5 Ma and 4553 ± 8.8 Ma crystallization ages for the basaltic magma clasts. The apatite U-Pb age of 4525 ± 17 Ma, K-Ar age of ~3.9 Ga, and the U,Th-He ages of 1.8 ± 0.7 and 2.6 ± 0.3 Ga are interpreted to represent thermal metamorphic and impact-related resetting ages, respectively. Petrographic, geochemical and O-, Cr- and Tiisotopic studies confirm that Sariçiçek belongs to the normal clan of HED meteorites. Petrographic observations and analysis of organic material indicate a small portion of carbonaceous chondrite material in the Sariçiçek regolith and organic contamination of the meteorite after a few days on soil. Video observations of the fall show an atmospheric entry at 17.3 ± 0.8 kms-1 from NW, fragmentations at 37, 33, 31 and 27 km altitude, and provide a pre-atmospheric orbit that is the first dynamical link between the normal HED meteorite clan and the inner Main Belt. Spectral data indicate the similarity of Sariçiçek with the Vesta asteroid family (V-class) spectra, a group of asteroids stretching to delivery resonances, which includes (4) Vesta. Dynamical modeling of meteoroid delivery to Earth shows that the complete disruption of a ~1 km sized Vesta family asteroid or a ~10 km sized impact crater on Vesta is required to provide sufficient meteoroids ≤4 m in size to account for the influx of meteorites from this HED clan. The 16.7 km diameter Antonia impact crater on Vesta was formed on terrain of the same age as given by the 4He retention age of Sariçiçek.     ÖZETGünümüzde etkileri daha güçlü hissedilmeye başlanan iklim değişikliğinin gerekli önlemler alınmaması durumunda ekonomik sistemi olumsuz etkileyeceği açıktır. İklim değişikliğinin etkilerini en aza indirmek için yapılacak çalışmaların da bir maliyeti olacağı kesindir. Ancak yapılacak önleme çalışmalarının maliyeti, bir şey yapılmaması durumunda katlanılacak maliyetlerden, daha düşük olacaktır. Alınması gereken önlemler sıralamasında ise ilk olarak hükümetlerin, yeni ve yenilenebilir enerji uygulamaları önündeki engelleri kaldırmaları ve fosil yakıt desteklerine son vermesi gerekmektedir.Sigorta sektörü, iklim değişikliğinin ortaya çıkaracağı olumsuzluklardan en fazla etkilenecek sektörler arasındadır. Hasarların meydana getireceği kayıpları en aza indirmek için sigortacıların risk analizleri yapmaları ve yeni risk yönetim politikaları oluşturmaları gerekmektedir. İklim değişikliği sigorta sektörü için oluşturduğu tehditlerin yanı sıra yeni fırsatları da ortaya çıkaracaktır; bu aşamada kamu özel sektör işbirliği ve iklim koruma kapsamında yeni uluslar arası oluşumlar önem kazanmaktadır.     Hutbeler yaygın din eğitimi faaliyetlerinden biridir ve dinî mesajın geniş kitlelere doğru olarak ulaştırılmasında tarihin her döneminde önemli bir yere sahip olmuştur. Bu faaliyetler vasıtasıyla dinle ilgili en temel bilgiler halkın anlayacağı bir sadelik ve netlikte anlatılmış, dinî duygu ve düşünceler toplumu kaynaştırmaya vesile kılınmıştır. Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı’nın kuruluşuyla birlikte hutbeler tek elden hazırlanmaya başlanmış, içerikleri dönemin ihtiyaçlarına ve anlayışına uygun olarak düzenlenmiştir. Osmanlı Devleti’nin son döneminde, İslam tarihi boyunca aralıksız süregelen bu hizmetin sunulma dilinin Türkçe mi Arapça mı olması gerektiği tartışılmaya başlanmıştır. Cumhuriyet’in ilanının ardından ilgili tartışmalar alevlenmiş ve nihayetinde hutbelerin halkın daha iyi anlayıp faydalanabileceği Türkçe olarak okunması meclis kararı ile zorunlu hale getirilmiştir. Bu süreçte Diyanet İşleri Reisliği Hey’et-i Müşavere azası olarak görev yapan Üryanizade, kitabındaki düzen ve sistemle kendinden sonra yazılacak hutbelere örneklik teşkil eden ve 40 hutbeden oluşan Türkçe Hutbeler isimli eserini kaleme almıştır. Eserde ibadet, içtimaiyat, iman, insan, dinî gün ve geceler, ahlak, eğitim, helal ve haramlar üst başlıklarında, dönem halkını yönlendirme eğilimindeki dinî içerikler halka sunulmuştur. Bu makalede literatür taraması yapılarak Hz. Muhammed’den Cumhuriyet’e hutbenin tarihi seyri anlatılmış; akabinde bu dönemde yaşanan Türkçe hutbe tartışmaları etraflıca ele alınmıştır. Arşiv taraması yöntemiyle de Üryanizade’nin biyografisi oluşturularak hayatı hakkında bilgi verilmiş ve Türkçe Hutbeler isimli eserinin içeriği analiz edilmiştir. Neticede hem Üryanizade’nin hem de ilgili eserinin ilim dünyasının dikkatine sunulması hedeflenmiştir

    Clinical and Radiological Behaviour of Ameloblastoma and Odontogenic Keratocycsts: A Literature Review with Case Series

    Ameloblastoma cinsiyet ayrımı gözetmeksizin genellikle genç yetişkinlerde izlenen mine dokusunun diferansiye olmamış gerçek bir neoplazmıdır ve invaziv olarak büyür. %80’i mandibular %20’si maxillar bölgede olmak üzere oral tümörlerin yaklaşık olarak %1’ini oluşturur. Klinik olarak ameloblastoma yavaş büyüyen ve yüzde şişlik gibi herhangi bir bulgu vermeyen, asemptomatik lokal agresif bir tümördür. Radyolojik görüntüsü klasik bir multiloküler kistik radyolusent lezyon şeklindedir. Sabun köpüğü ve bal peteği şeklindeki radyolusent alanlar tipik görüntüsüdür. Keratokistik odontojenik tümör; dental lamina artıklarından gelişen agresif davranışlı ve çevre dokulara infiltratif özelliği ile benign odontojenik tümör sınıfına dahil edilen yüksek nüks özelliği gösteren lezyonlardır. Konik Işınlı Bilgisayarlı Tomografi (KIBT) diş hekimliğinde güncel kullanılan en yeni ve ileri görüntüleme yöntemidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı ameloblastoma ön tanısıyla tartışılan vaka serilerinin radyografik görüntüleri ve histopatolojik sonuçlarının değerlendirilmesidir. Bu çalışmada ön tanıdan farklı olarak beş vaka histopatolojik olarak keratokistik odontojenik tümör tanısı almıştır. Çoğu vakada ameloblastoma karakteristik olarak teşhis edilebilir fakat radyografik görüntü diagnostik değildir.Ameloblastoma is a non-differentiated real neoplasm of enamel tissue usually seen in young adults, regardless of gender. It grows invasively. Ameloblastoma accounts for approximately 1% of oral tumors with 80% in the mandibular and 20% in the maxillar region. Clinically, ameloblastoma is a locally aggressive tumor that is asymptomatic and slowly growing without swelling. Its radiological appearance is classically a multilocular cystic radiolucent lesion. The most typical appearance is the radiolucent areas in the form of soap bubbles and honeycombs. Keratocystic odontogenic tumor is derived from dental lamina residues and is included in odontogenic tumor class lesions for its aggressive behavior and infiltration to adjacent tissues. Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is the newest imaging method used in dentistry currently. The aim of this article was to discuss a case series of ameloblastoma with a preliminary diagnosis of radiographic appearance. Histopathologically five of seven cases were diagnosed as keratocystic odontogenic tumor. In most cases, ameloblastoma can be diagnosed as characteristic, but its radiographic appearance is not diagnostic

    The effect of granulated lead–zinc slag on aesthetic and microstructural properties of single-fired wall tile glazes

    Recycling of industrial wastes could reduce environmental pollution and decrease final production costs for the relevant sectors. Some of the solid wastes originating from metal production industries, including slags, scraps or powders, have been recently recognised as potential secondary raw materials to use in ceramic and glass industries for the production of pigments, bodies or glazes. The aim of this study is to produce some pigments from granulated waste slags obtained from lead–zinc smelting furnace for industrial ceramic glaze application. The chemical and phase analysis of slag is characterised by X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and X-ray diffraction (XRD), respectively. The wastes are calcinated to investigate the colour effect of synthesised pigments in industrial wall tile glazes. After addition of 5, 10 and 15 wt% of Fe2O3 to the slag, the samples were calcinated at 1150 °C and then added to the glaze composition in 3, 6, and 9 wt%, respectively. The glazes were applied to the engobed wall tiles and single fast fired at 1112 °C for 45 min. After performing colour analysis on glazed surfaces, phase analysis was carried out by X-ray diffractometer (XRD). Thermo-mechanical analyses (TMA) were done to determine the coefficient of thermal expansion (α). Increasing the proportion of slag in the glaze formulation resulted in the colour tone change of the final surfaces from cream to dark brown

    A Convolutional Neural Network Based on Raw Single Channel EEG for Automatic Sleep Staging

    Sleep stages are determined firstly for the evaluation of sleep quality and the diagnosis of sleep diseases. The signals, recorded from sensors connected to various parts of the body, such as electroencephalogram (EEG), electrocardiogram (ECG), electrooculogram (EOG) and electromyogram (EMG) are used for this purpose. After the production of affordable wearable EEG devices for individual use, studies have begun to detect sleep stages from a single channel EEG signal. This paper presents an automated system that can perform sleep staging using a single-channel raw EEG signal. A Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model was trained with the raw EEG signal for sleep stage detection. The use of CNN does not require any feature extraction. The developed CNN model classifies the sleep data sampled at 250 Hz, divided into 30-second segments according to the 5-class sleep staging system. According to the test results, the performance of the proposed system was found to be 93% macro F1 score and 92% accuracy
