    Get PDF
The study improved the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) of machines and processes through the implementation of a total productive maintenance (TPM) approach at Company S over a three-month period. By comparing the OEE of equipment before and after the implementation of autonomous maintenance, this study concluded that autonomous maintenance improves OEE. The target of this study was one general product line at a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) plant. Due to time limitations, the study only applied autonomous maintenance to operational activities. This research involved machine and processes selection, condition assessment, baseline OEE assessment, operator training, execution of autonomous maintenance, and OEE measurement. The approach was based on the steps of autonomous maintenance but was simplified for the conditions of the plant

Deep Quantigraphic Image Enhancement via Comparametric Equations

Most recent methods of deep image enhancement can be generally classified into two types: decompose-and-enhance and illumination estimation-centric. The former is usually less efficient, and the latter is constrained by a strong assumption regarding image reflectance as the desired enhancement result. To alleviate this constraint while retaining high efficiency, we propose a novel trainable module that diversifies the conversion from the low-light image and illumination map to the enhanced image. It formulates image enhancement as a comparametric equation parameterized by a camera response function and an exposure compensation ratio. By incorporating this module in an illumination estimation-centric DNN, our method improves the flexibility of deep image enhancement, limits the computational burden to illumination estimation, and allows for fully unsupervised learning adaptable to the diverse demands of different tasks.Comment: Published in ICASSP 2023. This article presents the results of a research on the Spanish translation of the culturemes in Radish written by the Chinese writer Mo Yan. First we categorized the culturemes in the original text. Then we exemplified and analyzed the translation techniques that the translator used for those culturemes. By employing quantitative methods, we carefully analyzed the extent of preservation of the cultural connotation in the target text and the translator's tendency towards domestication and foreignization. We have got the following results: 1) The various techniques of translation used by the translator manifest a notable balance between domestication and foreignization, suggesting the effort of the translator to accommodate the target text to its receptors without sacrificing the exotic environment of the original text. 2) In most cases, the cultural connotation is preserved, demonstrating the translator's attempt to contribute to the introduction of the typical Chinese cultural elements to the Spanish speakers. 3) The errors of translation in the translated text are not only due to those false linguistic decodifications and those deviations in the cognitive operation, but also due to the lack of support of the editorial. With better knowledge of the sociocultural context in which the original story is developed, the translation would be more precise

The pure culture was obtained by isolation and purification from the bacteria picked from dead trees on the mountain. Solid fermentation culture was carried out at 28 ℃, 30 ℃ and 37 ℃, and the optimal growth temperature of the target strain was found out to be 30 ℃. Liquid fermentation culture was carried out on the mycelia of the bacteria, respectively, for static culture. The optimal growth data were obtained by shaker culture and shaker culture with Lactobacillus reuteri 56 added. The DNA genomes of two different strains of Pseudosophora Sophora, SJ-C strain and SJ-D strain, were amplified by PCR, and the amplified fragments were analyzed by gel electrophoresis. After purification, the amplified product was sequenced, and BLAST homology comparison was performed on the target fragment using ICGC database. The obtained sequence was analyzed using MEGA software, and a phylogenetic tree was constructed. The tree diagram was observed to compare and identify the sequence. The most closely related strain of SJ-C was Bjerkandera fumosa, and the SJ-C strain was identified as subsipihonia. The closest relative of this sequence of SJ-D strain was Ganoderma gibbosum, and SJ-D strain was identified as Ganoderma lucidum. The fermentation solution was sampled regularly, and the PH meter and hand-held refractometer were used to determine the change of acidity and reducing sugar content of the fermentation solution. The PH content of the measured solution decreased steadily with the increase of days and became weakly acidic. The reducing sugar content decreased slightly with the increase of days. The changes and effects of the relevant data of each stage of fermentation were analyzed and studied

Spatial-Division Augmented Occupancy Field for Bone Shape Reconstruction from Biplanar X-Rays

Retrieving 3D bone anatomy from biplanar X-ray images is crucial since it can significantly reduce radiation exposure compared to traditional CT-based methods. Although various deep learning models have been proposed to address this complex task, they suffer from two limitations: 1) They employ voxel representation for bone shape and exploit 3D convolutional layers to capture anatomy prior, which are memory-intensive and limit the reconstruction resolution. 2) They overlook the prevalent occlusion effect within X-ray images and directly extract features using a simple loss, which struggles to fully exploit complex X-ray information. To tackle these concerns, we present Spatial-division Augmented Occupancy Field~(SdAOF). SdAOF adopts the continuous occupancy field for shape representation, reformulating the reconstruction problem as a per-point occupancy value prediction task. Its implicit and continuous nature enables memory-efficient training and fine-scale surface reconstruction at different resolutions during the inference. Moreover, we propose a novel spatial-division augmented distillation strategy to provide feature-level guidance for capturing the occlusion relationship. Extensive experiments on the pelvis reconstruction dataset show that SdAOF outperforms state-of-the-art methods and reconstructs fine-scale bone surfaces. The code is available at https://github.com/xmed-lab/SdAOFComment: Accepted to MICCAI 2024. Neuronally released vasoactive intestinal polypeptide alters atrial electrophysiological properties and may promote atrial fibrillation

    Get PDF
BACKGROUND: Vagal hyperactivity promotes atrial fibrillation (AF), which has been almost exclusively attributed to acetylcholine. Vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP) and acetylcholine are neurotransmitters co-released during vagal stimulation. Exogenous VIP has been shown to promote AF by shortening action potential duration (APD), increasing APD spatial heterogeneity, and causing intra-atrial conduction block. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of neuronally released VIP on atrial electrophysiologic properties during vagal stimulation. METHODS: We used a specific VIP antagonist (H9935) to uncover the effects of endogenous VIP released during vagal stimulation in canine hearts. RESULTS: H9935 significantly attenuated (1) the vagally induced shortening of atrial effective refractory period and widening of atrial vulnerability window during stimulation of cervical vagosympathetic trunks (VCNS) and (2) vagal effects on APD during stimulation through fat-pad ganglion plexus (VGPS). Atropine completely abolished these vagal effects during VCNS and VGPS. In contrast, VGPS-induced slowing of local conduction velocity was completely abolished by either VIP antagonist or atropine. In pacing-induced AF during VGPS, maximal dominant frequencies and their spatial gradients were reduced significantly by H9935 and, more pronouncedly, by atropine. Furthermore, VIP release in the atria during vagal stimulation was inhibited by atropine, which may account for the concealment of VIP effects with muscarinic blockade. CONCLUSION: Neuronally released VIP contributes to vagal effects on atrial electrophysiologic properties and affects the pathophysiology of vagally induced AF. Neuronal release of VIP in the atria is inhibited by muscarinic blockade, a novel mechanism by which VIP effects are concealed by atropine during vagal stimulation
