Reconstructing the Equation of State for Dark Energy In the Double Complex Symmetric Gravitational Theory
We propose to study the accelerating expansion of the universe in the double
complex symmetric gravitational theory (DCSGT). The universe we live in is
taken as the real part of the whole spacetime which is double
complex. By introducing the spatially flat FRW metric, not only the double
Friedmann Equations but also the two constraint conditions and
are obtained. Furthermore, using parametric ansatz, we reconstruct the
and for dark energy from real observational data. We
find that in the two cases of and , the
corresponding equations of state remain close to -1 at present
() and change from below -1 to above -1. The results illustrate that the
whole spacetime, i.e. the double complex spacetime , may be
either ordinary complex () or hyperbolic complex
(). And the fate of the universe would be Big Rip in the
future.Comment: 5 pages, 5 figures, accepted by Commun. Theor. Phy
Temperature correlators in the two-component one-dimensional gas
The quantum nonrelativistic two-component Bose and Fermi gases with the
infinitely strong point-like coupling between particles in one space dimension
are considered. Time and temperature dependent correlation functions are
represented in the thermodynamic limit as Fredholm determinants of integrable
linear integral operators.Comment: 40 pages, LaTeX, a4.st
Optimised design of nested oblong tube energy absorbers under lateral impact loading
Dynamic lateral crushing of mild steel (DIN 2393) nested tube systems was conducted using a ZWICK ROELL impact tester. The tests were performed with impact velocities ranging between 3 and 5 m/s, achieved using a fixed mass impinging onto the specimens under the influence of gravity. The various nested tube systems consisted of one standard and one optimised design. Their crushing behaviour and energy absorption capabilities were obtained and analysed.
In addition to the experimental work, numerical simulations using the explicit code LS-DYNA were conducted; boundary conditions matching those observed in experiments were applied to the models. Results from the numerical method were compared against those obtained from experiments. An over-prediction in force-deflection responses was obtained from the numerical code. An attempt was made to explain this inconsistency on the basis of the formation of plastic hinges and the validity of strain rate parameters used in the Cowper Symonds relation. It was found that the optimised energy absorbers exhibited a more desirable force-deflection response than their standard counterparts due to a simple design modification which was incorporated in the optimised design
The effect of two-temperature post-shock accretion flow on the linear polarization pulse in magnetic cataclysmic variables
The temperatures of electrons and ions in the post-shock accretion region of
a magnetic cataclysmic variable (mCV) will be equal at sufficiently high mass
flow rates or for sufficiently weak magnetic fields. At lower mass flow rates
or in stronger magnetic fields, efficient cyclotron cooling will cool the
electrons faster than the electrons can cool the ions and a two-temperature
flow will result. Here we investigate the differences in polarized radiation
expected from mCV post-shock accretion columns modeled with one- and
two-temperature hydrodynamics. In an mCV model with one accretion region, a
magnetic field >~30 MG and a specific mass flow rate of ~0.5 g/cm/cm/s, along
with a relatively generic geometric orientation of the system, we find that in
the ultraviolet either a single linear polarization pulse per binary orbit or
two pulses per binary orbit can be expected, depending on the accretion column
hydrodynamic structure (one- or two-temperature) modeled. Under conditions
where the physical flow is two-temperature, one pulse per orbit is predicted
from a single accretion region where a one-temperature model predicts two
pulses. The intensity light curves show similar pulse behavior but there is
very little difference between the circular polarization predictions of one-
and two-temperature models. Such discrepancies indicate that it is important to
model some aspect of two-temperature flow in indirect imaging procedures, like
Stokes imaging, especially at the edges of extended accretion regions, were the
specific mass flow is low, and especially for ultraviolet data.Comment: Accepted for publication in Astrophysics & Space Scienc
Observational Constraints of Modified Chaplygin Gas in Loop Quantum Cosmology
We have considered the FRW universe in loop quantum cosmology (LQC) model
filled with the dark matter (perfect fluid with negligible pressure) and the
modified Chaplygin gas (MCG) type dark energy. We present the Hubble parameter
in terms of the observable parameters , and
with the redshift and the other parameters like , , and .
From Stern data set (12 points), we have obtained the bounds of the arbitrary
parameters by minimizing the test. The best-fit values of the
parameters are obtained by 66%, 90% and 99% confidence levels. Next due to
joint analysis with BAO and CMB observations, we have also obtained the bounds
of the parameters () by fixing some other parameters and .
From the best fit of distance modulus for our theoretical MCG model in
LQC, we concluded that our model is in agreement with the union2 sample data.Comment: 14 pages, 10 figures, Accepted in EPJC. arXiv admin note: text

Squeezing based on nondegenerate frequency doubling internal to a realistic laser
We investigate theoretically the quantum fluctuations of the fundamental
field in the output of a nondegenerate second harmonic generation process
occuring inside a laser cavity. Due to the nondegenerate character of the
nonlinear medium, a field orthogonal to the laser field is for some operating
conditions indepedent of the fluctuations produced by the laser medium. We show
that this fact may lead to perfect squeezing for a certain polarization mode of
the fundamental field. The experimental feasibility of the system is also
discussed.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figure
Exact solution of the six-vertex model with domain wall boundary condition. Critical line between ferroelectric and disordered phases
This is a continuation of the papers [4] of Bleher and Fokin and [5] of
Bleher and Liechty, in which the large asymptotics is obtained for the
partition function of the six-vertex model with domain wall boundary
conditions in the disordered and ferroelectric phases, respectively. In the
present paper we obtain the large asymptotics of on the critical line
between these two phases.Comment: 22 pages, 6 figures, to appear in the Journal of Statistical Physic
