Detection of exudates in diabetic retinopathy images using boosting based algorithms

ABSTRACT Diabetic retinopathy is a leading cause of vision loss in developed countries. Regular diabetic retinal eye screenings are needed to detect early signs of retinopathy, so that appropriate treatments can be rendered to prevent blindness. Digital imaging is becoming available as a means of screening for diabetic retinopathy. However, with the large number of patients undergoing screenings, medical professionals require a tremendous amount of time and effort in order to analyse and diagnose the fundus photo-graphs, the treatment is done on a digital image, to obtain results as complex as recognizing patterns or as simple as enhancing con-tours, may involve filtering, transformations of gray levels, based on histogram processing, describing, between others. The design of a teaching tool to facilitate image processing, allowing access to each of the steps involved in the system, ensure the achievement of good results supported the implementation of parameterized and interactive techniques supported. ABSTRACT In these moments of confinement, many of the different activities that are carried out in person, are now being prepared in a virtual way. Work is one of the activities that have most adapted to this new way of working, therefore many of the activities that cannot be carried out in person, are developed in the form of teleworking. This new reality has made our house become the office, and with it new ways of distracting us arise, such as having to do chores at home, our children who are also in online class, the tasks of the house, among other activities of the house. In the present work, the levels of attention and meditation in the moments that the person is teleworking are evaluated by means of a computer brain device, the results indicate that people are very distracted at home as a result of the distracting agents; there is a greater degree of concentration when these distracting agents are removed

Aula feliz para el clima escolar de los estudiantes de la institución educativa N°11512 – La Cría – Pátapo

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo: Proponer un modelo educativo aula feliz para mejorar el clima escolar de los estudiantes de la institución educativa N°11512 – Pátapo, tomando como referencia fundamentos teóricos de la psicología positiva, como ciencia que estudia la felicidad y el bienestar del ser humano. Este estudio corresponde al tipo de investigación básica propositiva, de diseño proyectiva no experimental, tomando como muestra a 48 estudiantes de primaria. Los datos de la variable dependiente clima escolar se obtuvieron a través del i n s t r ume n t o cuestionario digital, determinando su grado de confiabilidad con el alfa de cronbach y 3 juicios de expertos. Se aplicó el instrumento a la muestra, obteniendo como resultados que el 58% de respuestas de los estudiantes se encuentran en el nivel a veces, casi nunca y nunca y sólo un 42% en los niveles casi siempre y siempre, correspondiente a las dimensiones del manejo de conflictos, cumplimiento de normas de convivencia y la falta de empatía y percepción social entre pares, es decir se determinó la existencia de problemas del clima escolar en la institución. Por lo que resulta oportuno la propuesta de un modelo educativo aula feliz, en sus dimensiones: Atención plena y fortalezas personales

Difficulties in Writing English of the Students of the third year at “Juan Roberto Smith Institute” in the II semester in 2007

The secondary education in Nicaragua is very important but still we have to do a lot of work. Our present research contains important information that helps us to get an idea of one of the problem that we have in our classrooms. We focused our research in one general objective that is to find out the causes that influence difficulties in writing English in students of the third year at “Juan Roberto Smith Institute”. In addition, it includes ten specific objectives that refer to the psychological and educational factors that influence negatively in the learning of the writing skill. The methodology of investigation was the qualities type. We took into account the following techniques such as class observation that include , Classroom atmosphere( Bulletin board, charts, ornaments, comfortable) Students behaviors and motivation, recourses ( Dictionaries, norkbooks,notebooks), Teaching aids used by the English teacher (objects, pictures, drawings, chart.), interaction of the students (Group work, In pairs, individual)correction written work (the teacher/ the student), main mistakes done by the students (grammar, vocabulary, punctuation, spelling ) Moreover, we did interview to the English teacher in charge of the group that we observed, students homework, teacher’s feedback and all the notes that we did about the things that are not applied such as the system code and the criteria of that aspect we have to take into account when we correct a written paper and also the peer correction that is not applied. The theoretical framework contains a lot of important points of view of remarkable writers about the following aspects: components of a piece of written paper, written exercises and it description of how to carry out them, techniques of how to do corrections paper, and the description of the Process Method which is the modern method that is used widely

Régimen de construcción civil en la contratación de obreros y el incremento de la planilla de obreros del Plan Copesco del Gobierno Regional de Cusco, periodo 2013 y 2014

El propósito de esta tesis es determinar en qué medida el uso del régimen de construcción civil en la contratación de obreros ha influido en el incremento de la planilla de obreros del Proyecto Especial Regional Plan COPESCO del Gobierno Regional de Cusco durante los años 2013 y 2014, es una investigación de tipo aplicada, cuyo diseño es no experimental descriptivo explicativo, habiéndose verificado que varios de los obreros que fueron contratados por dicha entidad mediante contratos de trabajo sujetos al régimen laboral de construcción civil se han convertido en trabajadores con contratos de trabajo a tiempo indeterminado sujetos al régimen laboral común de la actividad privada regulado por el Decreto Legislativo 728 debido a que fueron repuestos judicialmente o por haber obtenido sentencias favorables declarando el carácter indeterminado de sus contratos de trabajo, generando el incremento de la planilla de los obreros del Proyecto Especial Regional Plan COPESCO Cusco, para ello se ha realizado la revisión física y electrónica de los procesos de reposición y declaración del carácter indeterminado de los contratos de trabajo seguido por los trabajadores contra el Proyecto Especial Regional Plan COPESCO Cusco durante los años 2013 y 2014.The purpose of this thesis is to determine what extent the use of the civil construction regime in the hiring of workers has influenced the increase in the workers list of the Regional Special Project COPESCO Plan of the Regional Government of Cusco during the years 2013 and 2014, It is an applied type of research, whose design is non-experimental descriptive explanatory, having verified that several of the workers who were hired by this entity through labor contracts subject to the civil construction labor regime have become workers with employment contracts undetermined time subject to the common labor regime of private activity regulated by Legislative Decree 728 because they were replaced judicially or for having obtained favorable rulings declaring the indeterminate carácter of their work contracts, generating the increase of the workers of the Project Regional Special Plan COPESCO Cusco, for this purpose, the physical and electronic review of the replacement processes and declaration of the indeterminate nature of the work contracts followed by the workers against the Special Regional Project Plan COPESCO Cusco during 2013 and 2014 have been carried out

Actividad física en escolares del VII ciclo de la Institución Educativa Secundaria San Luis Gonzaga del distrito de Limbani en tiempos de pandemia 2022

La actividad física en los adolescentes a causa de la pandemia se vio afectada, debido a las medidas tomadas como el confinamiento y el distanciamiento social que el gobierno estableció, ante ello, esta investigación tuvo por propósito determinar el nivel de actividad física en los escolares del VII ciclo de la institución educativa secundaria “San Luis Gonzaga” del distrito de Limbani en tiempos de pandemia – 2022. Se empleó el enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo básica y alcance descriptivo, diseño no experimental; la población estuvo compuesta por 150 estudiantes, el muestreo empleado fue el probabilístico de tipo aleatorio simple, por lo que la muestra fue de 143 estudiantes. Se aplicó la técnica de la encuesta y el instrumento fue el cuestionario. Respecto a los resultados, primero se procesaron los datos mediante el programa estadístico SPSS, por lo que a través de la estadística se logró contrastar la hipótesis en la que el nivel predominante de la actividad física en los estudiantes fue medio, en relación a la edad, los estudiantes de 14 a 15 años obtuvieron un nivel medio, seguido del nivel alto, según el sexo predomina el masculino en el nivel alto, pero, en el nivel medio predomina el sexo femenino. Se concluyó que el nivel de actividad física predominante en los estudiantes fue medio, según la edad, los estudiantes entre 14-15 años son los que regularmente realizan actividad física y según el sexo son los hombres quienes realizan la actividad física

Gestión pedagógica del docente y la motivación de los estudiantes, de tres institutos superiores tecnológicos de Lima, 2014

La finalidad del presente estudio de investigación es determinar como la gestión pedagógica del docente se relaciona con la motivación de los estudiantes de la especialidad de mecánica automotriz, de tres institutos superiores tecnológicos de Lima, 2014. Este estudio empleó el método hipotético deductivo, con un tipo de estudio basico,de tipo correlacional, con un diseño transversal, con el cual se busca establecer las relación o asociaciones entrela gestión pedagógica del docente y la motivación de los estudiantes, a fin de brindar una imagen mas completa del fenómeno y avanzar en el conocimiento de la realidad como producto de relacion de las dos variables. Se seleccionó una muestra censal de200 estudiantes de tres institutos superiores tecnológicos de Lima, a los cuales se les aplicó la técnica de la encuesta con dos cuestionarios para medir la gestión pedagógica del docente y la motivación de los alumnos con una confiabilidad de 0.935 y de 0.848 por el Alfa de Cronbach. Los resultados de esta investigación demuestran que existe relación positivay significativa entre la gestión pedagógica del docente y la motivación de los estudiantes, siendo el grado de la influencia, medida por la correlación de Sperman (r= ,628, p=0,000 p< 0,05), del mismo modo existe una relación positiva y con un nivel de correlación moderada entre dimensión planificación y ejecución, y la motivación de los estudiantes(r= ,618, p=0,000 p < 0,05),y la dimensión evaluación y metodología, y motivación de los estudiantes
