    Classifying by Bayesian Method and Some Applications

    This chapter sums up and proposes some results related to classification problem by Bayesian method. We present the classification principle, Bayes error, and establish its relationship with other measures. The determination for Bayes error in reality for one and multi-dimensions is also considered. Based on training set and the object that we need to classify, an algorithm to determine the prior probability that can make to reduce Bayes error is proposed. This algorithm has been performed by the MATLAB procedure that can be applied well with real data. The proposed algorithm is applied in three domains: biology, medicine, and economics through specific problems. With different characteristics of applied data sets, the proposed algorithm always gives the best results in comparison to the existing ones. Furthermore, the examples show the feasibility and potential application in reality of the researched problem

    Single crystals of manganese(II) octa­uranium(IV) hepta­deca­sulfide, MnU8S17, were grown from the reaction of the elements in a RbCl flux. MnU8S17 crystallizes in the space group C2/m in the CrU8S17 structure type. The asymmetric unit is composed of the following atoms with site symmetries shown: U1 (1), U2 (m), U3 (m), Mn1 (2/m), S1 (1), S2 (1); S3 (m), S4 (m), S5 (m), S6 (m) and S7 (2/m). The three UIV atoms are each coordinated by eight S atoms in a bicapped trigonal–prismatic arrangement. The MnII atom is coordinated by six S atoms in a distorted octa­hedral arrangement

    Segregation between SMCHD1 mutation, D4Z4 hypomethylation and Facio-Scapulo-Humeral Dystrophy: a case report

    International audienceBackground: The main form of Facio-Scapulo-Humeral muscular Dystrophy is linked to copy number reduction of the 4q D4Z4 macrosatellite (FSHD1). In 5 % of cases, FSHD phenotype appears in the absence of D4Z4 reduction (FSHD2). In 70-80 % of these patients, variants of the SMCHD1 gene segregate with 4qA haplotypes and D4Z4 hypomethylation.Case presentation: We report a family presenting with neuromuscular symptoms reminiscent of FSHD but without D4Z4 copy reduction. We characterized the 4q35 region using molecular combing, searched for mutation in the SMCHD1 gene and determined D4Z4 methylation level by sodium bisulfite sequencing. We further investigated the impact of the SMCHD1 mutation at the protein level and on the NMD-dependent degradation of transcript. In muscle, we observe moderate but significant reduction in D4Z4 methylation, not correlated with DUX4-fl expression. Exome sequencing revealed a heterozygous insertion of 7 bp in exon 37 of the SMCHD1 gene producing a loss of frame with premature stop codon 4 amino acids after the insertion (c.4614-4615insTATAATA). Both wild-type and mutated transcripts are detected.Conclusion: The truncated protein is absent and the full-length protein level is similar in patients and controls indicating that in this family, FSHD is not associated with SMCHD1 haploinsufficiency

    This study proposes some results in classifying by Bayesian method. There are upper and lower bounds of the Bayes error as well as its determination in case of one dimension and multi-dimensions. Based on the proposals for estimating of probability density functions, calculating the Bayes error and determining the prior probability, we establish an algorithm to evaluate ability of customers to pay debts at banks. This algorithm has been performed by the Matlab procedure that can be applied well with real data. The proposed algorithm is tested by the real application at a bank in Viet Nam that obtains the best results in comparing with the existing approaches

    Naskah drama Jagapati Puputan adalah sebuah naskah drama dengan genre klasik yang mengusung irama tragis dengan tema perjuangan. Drama Jagapati Puputan berkisah tentang perjuangan Pangeran Jagapati di Kerajaan Blambangan. Dalam peperangan, Jagapati memerintahkan untuk tidak menyerah dan tetap berjuang mengusir kompeni. Naskah drama Jagapati Puputan dalam proses penciptaannya melalui berbagai tahapan, yang bersumber pada sejarah perang Puputan Bayu, dengan tahap pengumpulan data yang menggunakan metode deskriptif dan kajian pustaka, kemudian data tersebut direkonstruksi menjadi karya fiksi menggunakan metode intertekstual dan rekonstruksi teks. Alur yang digunakan dalam naskah drama menggunakan alur aristotelian atau yang biasa disebut dengan dramatic plot aristoteles.
