suponen una novedad y resultan motivantes para todo el alumnado;
aspecto que invita a seguir incluyéndolos en las clases de Educación

Implementation of an intraoperative electron radiotherapy in vivo dosimetry program
Background:
Intraoperative electron radiotherapy (IOERT) is a highly selective radiotherapy technique which aims
to treat restricted anatomic volumes during oncological surgery and is now the subject of intense re-evaluation. In
vivo dosimetry has been recommended for IOERT and has been identified as a risk-reduction intervention in the
context of an IOERT risk analysis. Despite reports of fruitful experiences, information about in vivo dosimetry in
intraoperative radiotherapy is somewhat scarce. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to report our experience in
developing a program of in vivo dosimetry for IOERT, from both multidisciplinary and practical approaches, in a
consistent patient series. We also report several current weaknesses.
Methods:
Reinforced TN-502RDM-H mobile metal oxide semico
nductor field effect tran
sistors (MOSFETs) and
Gafchromic MD-55-2 films were used as a redundant in vivo treatment verification system with an Elekta
Precise fixed linear accelerator for calibrations and tre
atments. In vivo dosimetry was performed in 45 patients
in cases involving primary tumors or relapses. The m
ost frequent primary tumors were breast (37 %) and
colorectal (29 %), and local recurrences among relapses was 83 %. We made 50 attempts to measure with
MOSFETs and 48 attempts to measure with films in th
e treatment zones. The surgical team placed both
detectors with supervision from the radiation oncologist and following their instructions.
Results:
The program was considered an overall success by the different professionals involved. The absorbed doses
measured with MOSFETs and films were 93.8 ± 6.7 % and 97.9 ± 9.0 % (mean ±
SD
) respectively using a scale in which
90 % is the prescribed dose and 100 % is the maximum absorbed dose delivered by the beam. However, in 10 % of
cases we experienced dosimetric problems due to detector misalignment, a situation which might be avoided with
additional checks. The useful MOSFET lifetime length and the film sterilization procedure should also be controlled.
Conclusions:
It is feasible to establish an in vivo dosimetry program for a wide set of locations treated with
IOERT using a multidisciplinary approach according to the skills of the professionals present and the detectors
used; oncological surgeons
’
commitment is key to success in this context. Films are more unstable and show
higher uncertainty than MOSFETs but are cheaper and
are useful and convenient if real-time treatment
monitoring is not necessary. This work was supported by grants IPT-300000-2010-3 and PI11/01659 from

tipo de investigaciones dando un reconocimiento a la cultura afroperuanaThe objective of this research work will try to prove how the identity of the works influences
of Nicomedes Santa Cruz in the aesthetic formation of the students presenting
arguments that are sustained on a theoretical qualitative research that will try to give
know that through literature and aesthetics the personality of young people will be formed
in the school stage. For which the poetry of Nicomedes Santa has been taken into account
Cruz who highlights in his poetic work a theme that shows the value of an identity
that describes our culture with the intention of recognizing the mixture of all the races that
make up our nation; thus reinforcing a citizen training with social perception
in our youth with the Afro-Peruvian community. Aesthetics as a contribution to the
formation of the development of the personality of young adolescents make up a
important role that the educational field has the duty to recover based on the
future citizens with a social conscience, therefore, it is important to publicize this
type of research giving recognition to Afro-Peruvian cultureChosicaTeorías y paradigmas educativo
An innovative tool for intraoperative electron beam radiotherapy simulation and planning: description and initial evaluation by radiation oncologists
The lack of specific treatment planning tools limits the spread of Intraoperative Electron Radiation Therapy. An innovative simulation and planning tool is presented. Applicator positioning, isodose curves, and doseevolume histograms can be estimated for previously segmented regions to treat/protect. Evaluation by three radiation oncologists on 15 patients showed high parameter agreement in nine cases, demonstrating the possibilities in cases involving different anatomical locations, and identifying the importance of specialized surgical input in the preplanning process.Supported by grants PI08/90473, IPT 300000 2010 3, ARTEMIS S2009/DPI 1802(CAM), TEC2010 21619 C04 01, PI09/90568, ERD Funds.Publicad
Riparian species and their relationship with the flow regime in the Mijares River (Spain)
The relationship between flows and riparian vegetation has been described in the Mijares River, one of the most important rivers of the Júcar River basin (Eastern Spain). The three study sites have a flow regime which is regulated by a large dam and several hydropower plants. A hydraulic simulation was done in each site, and the time series of flow and water elevation were calculated for the period 1990-2007. The discharge-elevation curves were calculated in channel cross-sections, based on field data (low flows) and hydraulic simulation of large floods (50, 100 & 500 years intervals)
Mindfulness-Based Program Plus Amygdala and Insula Retraining (MAIR) for the Treatment of Women with Fibromyalgia : a Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial
The lack of highly effective treatments for fibromyalgia (FM) represents a great challenge for public health. The objective of this parallel, pilot randomized controlled trial (RCT) was two-fold: (1) to analyze the clinical effects of mindfulness plus amygdala and insula retraining (MAIR) compared to a structurally equivalent active control group of relaxation therapy (RT) in the treatment of FM; and (2) to evaluate its impact on immune-inflammatory markers and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF)in serum. A total of 41 FM patients were randomized into two study arms: MAIR (intervention group)and RT (active control group), both as add-ons of treatment as usual. MAIR demonstrated significantly greater reductions in functional impairment, anxiety, and depression, as well as higher improvements in mindfulness, and self-compassion at post-treatment and follow-up, with moderate to large effectsizes. Significant decreases in pain catastrophizing and psychological inflexibility and improvementsin clinical severity and health-related quality of life were found at follow-up, but not at post-treatment,showing large effect sizes. The number needed to treat was three based on the criteria of ≥50% Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQ) reduction post-treatment. Compared to RT, the MAIRshowed significant decreases in BDNF. No effect of MAIR was observed in immune-inflammatorybiomarkers (i.e., TNF-α, IL-6, IL-10, and hs-CRP). In conclusion, these results suggest that MAIR, as an adjuvant of treatment-as-usual (TAU), appears to be effective for the management of FM symptomsand for reducing BDNF levels in serum
SIRGAS: the core geodetic infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean
COMUNICACIÓN CIENTÍFICA PRESENTADA EN ASAMBLEA CIENTÍFICA CONJUNTA DE LA ASOCIACIÓN INTERNACIONAL DE GEODESIA Y LA ASOCIACIÓN INTERNACIONAL DE SISMOLOGÍA Y FÍSICA DEL INTERIOR DE LA TIERRA (IAG-IASPEI 2017), 30 de julio - 4 de agosto de 2017, Kobe, Japón. SIRGAS reference frame The primary objective of SIRGAS (Sistema de eferencia Geocéntrico para las Américas) is the determination and maintenance of a reliable reference frame in Latin America and the Caribbean as a densification of the ITRF and as a regional realisation of the ITRS. The SIRGAS reference frame is currently composed of 418 continuously operating GNSS stations (Fig. 1). It comprises two hierarchy levels: a core network (SIRGAS-C) providing the primary link to the global ITRF; and national reference networks (SIRGAS-N) improving the geographical density of the reference stations to ensure the accessibility to the reference frame at national and local levels. Given that most of the existing ITRF stations in South America are affected by the strong seismic activity in this region, further stations located in Europe, Africa, Oceania and North America are included in SIRGAS to increase the availability of fiducial point
