The pinewood nematode (PWN), Bursaphelenchus xylophilus, is a serious threat to forest ecosystems at a global scale. The nematode has become a major quarantine problem due to its capability to completely destroy Pinus spp. trees, with great damage to the wood industry. Controlling the nematode inside a living tree is quite difficult, the techniques used being often ineffective and quite expensive. In the coming years, most chemicals used to control nematodes will be banned and replaced by safer and environmentally friendly products. As so, chemicals naturally produced by plants will play an important role in controlling diseases such as pine wilt. Plants, particularly aromatic ones, are commonly used due to the chemical properties of their secondary metabolites. Among these, essential oils and/or extracts are highly employed and are being tested as possible control of some organisms, like nematodes. Recent publications have evaluated essential oils derived from different plant species as natural nematicides [1; 2], antibacterial [3], anti-fungal [4] as well as insecticidal [5]. Concerning control of the PWN, a significant amount of information on plants tested, results obtained and employed techniques, is available. Our revision has extensively gathered this information, making it easier to search, read and use. It may become useful information for future studies on the subject, since it will be possible to check the plants already tested. Although numbers aren´t definitive, so far, tested plants are distributed amongst 148 families. The extracts or essential oils of plants belonging to the Asteraceae, Lamiaceae and Euphorbiaceae families show promising results on controlling the pinewood nematode

SummaryBackground and objectivesRheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease of unknown etiology. It is known that RA patients have a reduced life expectancy when compared with the general population. Rheumatic diseases are numerous and occur with high variability; some of them develop very rapidly while others occur chronically provoking disability throughout life. Anesthetic risks in osteoarticular disorders involve not only the mechanical deformations caused by the disease, but also the cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and digestive systems.ContentsThe purpose of this review was to stress the importance of stages in disease process that may affect anesthesia control before, during, and after surgery, highlighting the authors’ experience in a retrospective review of patients with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA) undergoing placement of orthopedic prosthesis with emphasis on intubation techniques.ConclusionsRheumatoid arthritis patients can present a number of complex problems for the anesthesiologist. This requires careful preoperative evaluation; anesthesia requires experience with the technique; and postoperative care should be judiciously chosen to meet the specific needs of the patient. The procedure requires effective communication among surgeon, rheumatologist and anesthesiologist so each member of the multidisciplinary team can contribute with his/her expertise in order to better benefit the patient

The industry, which in 2019 represents almost one third of the national GDP, has in maintaining one of the main areas support for its optimum functioning, maintenance that has 4 fundamental types: corrective (which is divided into planned and unplanned), preventive, Predictive and discovertive. The predictive is notable for presenting a reduction in equipment repair costs and a high effectiveness in improving the process, in this type two tools are highlighted: vibration analysis and thermographic analysis. Thus, this work has as general objective to identify and evaluate the effects of the analyses cited in the maintenance process and on the reliability of equipment used in a seed beneficiation plant. As a way of fulfilling the general objective, some important concepts were explained about maintenance, reliability and their indicators, and then a case study was carried out using data from equipment used in the industrial plant in the last 3 years. The case study included the analysis of the predictive tools employed in the years 2017 and 2018, analyses that were performed by a partner company contracted by the company, analysis of the availability data, mean time between failures (MTBF) and time Repair (MTTR) of the selected equipment as samples. When analyzing the reliability indicators of the equipment it was possible to see a considerable improvement in the operation of the equipments and in the assertiveness of the maintenance activities, since changes in maintenance routines were generated to give Reduction in equipment downtime. After analyzing the results, it was possible to see that the introduction of a routine of predictive analyses can have great benefits for the maintenance work, since it considerably improves the team's performance as a support area for the production process, leaving The most available equipment for working and with high-level performance and qualities. It was possible to observe opportunities also, some indicators showed less than expected improvement, but also were exposed ways to seize these opportunities and continue the process of continuous improvement of reliability and maintenance indicators.

The main purpose of this article is to promote the use of RAP (Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement) in pavement structural layers, reusing material produced by the reconstruction of flexible pavements layers. Laboratorial results made on mixtures of RAP material, stone powder and cement (FPC) allow concluding that a pavement sub-base layer made with this mixture can constitute a layer with an improved resistance. The technique is economic and environmentally justified, thus it represents a solution for the reuse of a construction by-product, reducing the use of new aggregates. By the other hand, the increase of resistance of the sub-base layer made with FPC, can allow reducing the thickness of other layers, reducing the consumption of new aggregates and bituminous binders

Patient satisfaction with healthcare provision services and the factors influencing it are be-coming the main focus of many scientific studies. Assuring the quality of the provided services is essential for the fulfillment of patients' expectations and needs. Thus, this systematic review seeks to find the determinants of patient satisfaction in a global setting. We perform an analysis to evaluate the collected literature and to fulfill the literature gap of bibliometric analysis within this theme. This review follows the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) approach. We conducted our database search in Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed in June 2022. Studies from 2000-2021 that followed the inclusion and exclusion criteria and that were written in English were included in the sample. We ended up with 157 articles to review. A co-citation and bibliographic coupling analysis were employed to find the most relevant sources, authors, and documents. We divided the factors influencing patient satisfaction into criteria and explanatory variables. Medical care, communication with the patient, and patient's age are among the most critical factors for researchers. The bibliometric analysis revealed the countries, institutions, documents, authors, and sources most productive and significant in patient satisfaction.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
