Chiral Symmetry and s-wave Low-Lying Meson-Baryon Resonances
The wave meson-baryon scattering is analyzed for the isospin-strangeness
and sectors, in a Bethe-Salpeter coupled channel
formalism incorporating Chiral Symmetry. For both sectors, four channels have
been considered: , , , and ,
, , , respectively. The needed two particle
irreducible matrix amplitudes are taken from lowest order Chiral Perturbation
Theory in a relativistic formalism. There appear undetermined low energy
constants, as a consequence of the renormalization of the amplitudes, which are
obtained from fits to the available data: elastic phase-shifts, and cross sections and to
mass-spectrum, the elastic and
--matrices and to the
cross section data. The position and residues of the complex poles in the
second Riemann sheet of the scattering amplitude determine masses, widths and
branching ratios of the (1535) and (1650) and
(1405) and (1670) resonances, in reasonable agreement with
experiment. A good overall description of data, from threshold up to around 2
GeV is achieved despite the fact that three-body channels have not been
explicitly included.Comment: 5 Pages, 2 figures, invited contribution to Focus Session on Nature

Use of electronic fruits to evaluate fruit damage along the handling process.
Two electronic fruits (SEP-1, Simulated Electronic Product, developed in Scotland, and Techmark IS-100, Instrumented Sphere, developed in USA) have been compared in laboratory tests and then used to evaluate handling operations, in several cooperatives of two areas of Spain: Lérida (pome fruits) and Valencia (stone fruits). Advantages of each device were evaluated. Harvest, mechanical bin unloading, and grading line transfers and sizers were identified as operations causing fruit damage
Chemoenzymatic synthesis of optically active 2-(2- or 4-substituted-1H-imidazol-1-yl)cycloalcanols. Chiral additives for (L)-proline
Enantiopure substituted imidazoles obtained by enzymatic kinetic resolution can be promising candidates as co-catalysts for aldol reactions catalysed by (L)-proline. These additives seem to form supramolecular complexes with the catalyst through the formation of H-bonds, leading to significant improvement in both the reaction rates and selectivity of the reaction. Herein, we present our results on the use of these substituted trans-2-imidazoyl-cycloalkanols as additives for the (L)-proline catalyzed direct aldol reaction between ketones and aromatic aldehydes
Chiral dynamics of hadrons in nuclei
In this talk I report on selected topics of hadron modification in the
nuclear medium using the chiral unitary approach to describe the dynamics of
the problems. I shall mention how antikaons, , and are modified in
the medium and will report upon different experiments done or planned to

International technology diffusion through patents during the second half of the XXth century
This paper analyzes the impact of domestic and foreign technology in explaining Total Factor Productivity (TFP) growth during the second half of the 20th century in some advanced countries (the U.S., France, Germany, the U.K. and Japan). To carry out this objective we use new dataset for the stock of knowledge built on the basis of the Perpetual Inventory Method over patents data for 150 years. To empirically address the aim of this research, we extend Coe and Helpman (1995) empirical specification by including human capital. Our results point out that: first, both domestic and foreign stocks of knowledge are significant in explaining TFP growth; second, the imports of knowledge have a less significant effect than the domestic stock of knowledge for France, Germany and Japan. Further, our results point that human capital plays a superior role in explaining TFP growth in the most advanced countries.
Study of a possible S=+1 dynamically generated baryonic resonance
Starting from the lowest order chiral Lagrangian for the interaction of the
baryon decuplet with the octet of pseudoscalar mesons we find an attractive
interaction in the channel with L=0 and I=1, while the interaction
is repulsive for I=2. The attractive interaction leads to a pole in the second
Riemann sheet of the complex plane and manifests itself in a large strength of
the scattering amplitude close to the threshold, which is
not the case for I=2. However, we also make a study of uncertainties in the
model and conclude that the existence of this pole depends sensitively upon the
input used and can disappear within reasonable variations of the input
parameters. We take advantage to study the stability of the other poles
obtained for the dynamically generated resonances of the model and
conclude that they are stable and not contingent to reasonable changes in the
input of the theory
Removing Objects From Neural Radiance Fields
Neural Radiance Fields (NeRFs) are emerging as a ubiquitous scene representation that allows for novel view synthesis. Increasingly, NeRFs will be shareable with other people. Before sharing a NeRF, though, it might be desirable to remove personal information or unsightly objects. Such removal is not easily achieved with the current NeRF editing frameworks. We propose a framework to remove objects from a NeRF representation created from an RGBD sequence. Our NeRF inpainting method leverages recent work in 2D image inpainting and is guided by a userprovided mask. Our algorithm is underpinned by a confidence based view selection procedure. It chooses which of the individual 2D inpainted images to use in the creation of the NeRF, so that the resulting inpainted NeRF is 3D consistent. We show that our method for NeRF editing is effective for synthesizing plausible inpaintings in a multi-view coherent manner, outperforming competing methods. We validate our approach by proposing a new and still-challenging dataset for the task of NeRF inpainting
