    En las siguientes páginas se tratará la literatura infantil, desde su nacimiento como concepto hasta su posterior conversión en un producto más del mercado de consumo. Dentro de la literatura infantil, destacar la narrativa y en concreto el cuento. Un análisis exhaustivo de los cuentos, los temas más importantes que se han trabajado en los cuentos así como los grandes escritores de cuentos. Superada esta parte, se recoge todo lo realizado en el proyecto llevado a cabo en el aula a lo largo de las semanas de prácticas en el colegio. Se trata de un trabajo donde la imaginación y la competencia literaria juegan un papel importante dentro de todo lo realizado con el fin de mejorar en el alumnado estos dos aspectos.In the following pages of children´s literture will be discussed, from conception to birth and their subsequent conversión into product´s consumer market. In children´s literatura, narrative and hghlight specifically the story. A thorough analysis of the stories anda the most important issues thah have bee worked on stories and great writer of short stories. Once this part, collected everything done in the Project carried out in the classroom throughout the weeks of practice at school.     Design and Test of a Miniature Hydrogen Production Integrated Reactor

    A detailed study of the experimental issues involved in the design and operation of a methanol steam microreformer is presented in this paper. Micromachining technology was utilized to fabricate a metallic microchannel block coupling the exothermic and endothermic process. The microchannel block was coated with a Pd/ZnO catalyst in the reforming channels and with Pd/Al2O3 in the combustion channels by washcoating. An experimental system had been designed and fine-tuned allowing estimation of the heat losses of the system and to compensate for them by means of electric heating cartridges. In this way, the heat necessary for the reforming reaction is provided by methanol combustion, thanks to the temperature and flow cascade controller we developed. Thus, the coupling of both reactions in a block of microchannels without the interference caused by significant heat loss due to the small size of the laboratory microreactor could be studied. Runs of this microreformer device were carried out, varying the deposited catalyst amount, methanol steam reforming temperature and space velocity. When the reforming reaction was compensated by the combustion reaction and the heat losses by the electric heating, an almost isothermal behavior of the microchannel reactor was observed. In the less favorable case, with a 460 mg catalyst load, ΔTMSR was about 8 K and ΔTCOMB was about 16 K.     Mechanistic studies of a lipase unveil effect of pH on hydrolysis products of small PET modules

    Biocatalysis is a key technology enabling plastic recycling. However, despite advances done in the development of plastic-degrading enzymes, the molecular mechanisms that govern their catalytic performance are poorly understood, hampering the engineering of more efficient enzyme-based technologies. In this work, we study the hydrolysis of PET-derived diesters and PET trimers catalyzed by the highly promiscuous lipase B from Candida antarctica (CALB) through QM/MM molecular dynamics simulations supported by experimental Michaelis–Menten kinetics. The computational studies reveal the role of the pH on the CALB regioselectivity toward the hydrolysis of bis-(hydroxyethyl) terephthalate (BHET). We exploit this insight to perform a pH-controlled biotransformation that selectively hydrolyzes BHET to either its corresponding diacid or monoesters using both soluble and immobilized CALB. The discoveries presented here can be exploited for the valorization of BHET resulting from the organocatalytic depolymerization of PET.This work was supported by the Spanish Agency of Research (AEI) (ref.     Intensification of hydrogen production by methanol steam reforming

    This paper studies the methanol steam reforming intensification to enhance the hydrogen production in a multi-channel block type micro-reformer. The effects of operating parameters such as reforming temperature, space velocity and catalyst layer thickness on reforming performance are investigated. For optimized design and operating conditions, the 8 cm3 reformer unit produced 170 LH2/h containing on dry basis 75.0% H2, 23.5% CO2, 0.06% CH3OH and 1.44% CO at 648 K allowing the production of 218e255 W in a commercial PEMFC with 80% hydrogen utilization.     The aim of this paper was to evaluate how audience response system (ARS) technology may increase improvements in academic performance in higher education, using the first year of the Administration and Business Management degree course at the University of Seville (Spain) as a case study. The experiment assesses whether the use of ARSs increases the likelihood that students will pass the final examinations in the subject of Principles of Economics. An econometric model is applied to a sample of 119 students in an intervention group, with a control group of 322. The statistically significant results show that at the very least, ARSs improve performance in the theoretical examination, albeit with certain limitations. It is concluded that ARSs should be used frequently to optimize outcomes, not just as a sporadic event during the course

    Intraoperative transfusion practices in Europe

    Transfusion of allogeneic blood influences outcome after surgery. Despite widespread availability of transfusion guidelines, transfusion practices might vary among physicians, departments, hospitals and countries. Our aim was to determine the amount of packed red blood cells (pRBC) and blood products transfused intraoperatively, and to describe factors determining transfusion throughout Europe. We did a prospective observational cohort study enrolling 5803 patients in 126 European centres that received at least one pRBC unit intraoperatively, during a continuous three month period in 2013. The overall intraoperative transfusion rate was 1.8%; 59% of transfusions were at least partially initiated as a result of a physiological transfusion trigger- mostly because of hypotension (55.4%) and/or tachycardia (30.7%). Haemoglobin (Hb)- based transfusion trigger alone initiated only 8.5% of transfusions. The Hb concentration [mean (sd)] just before transfusion was 8.1 (1.7) g dl and increased to 9.8 (1.8) g dl after transfusion. The mean number of intraoperatively transfused pRBC units was 2.5 (2.7) units (median 2). Although European Society of Anaesthesiology transfusion guidelines are moderately implemented in Europe with respect to Hb threshold for transfusion (7-9 g dl), there is still an urgent need for further educational efforts that focus on the number of pRBC units to be transfused at this threshold

    Intraoperative transfusion practices and perioperative outcome in the European elderly: A secondary analysis of the observational ETPOS study

    The demographic development suggests a dramatic growth in the number of elderly patients undergoing surgery in Europe. Most red blood cell transfusions (RBCT) are administered to older people, but little is known about perioperative transfusion practices in this population. In this secondary analysis of the prospective observational multicentre European Transfusion Practice and Outcome Study (ETPOS), we specifically evaluated intraoperative transfusion practices and the related outcomes of 3149 patients aged 65 years and older. Enrolled patients underwent elective surgery in 123 European hospitals, received at least one RBCT intraoperatively and were followed up for 30 days maximum. The mean haemoglobin value at the beginning of surgery was 108 (21) g/l, 84 (15) g/l before transfusion and 101 (16) g/l at the end of surgery. A median of 2 [1–2] units of RBCT were administered. Mostly, more than one transfusion trigger was present, with physiological triggers being preeminent. We revealed a descriptive association between each intraoperatively administered RBCT and mortality and discharge respectively, within the first 10 postoperative days but not thereafter. In our unadjusted model the hazard ratio (HR) for mortality was 1.11 (95% CI: 1.08–1.15) and the HR for discharge was 0.78 (95% CI: 0.74–0.83). After adjustment for several variables, such as age, preoperative haemoglobin and blood loss, the HR for mortality was 1.10 (95% CI: 1.05–1.15) and HR for discharge was 0.82 (95% CI: 0.78–0.87). Preoperative anaemia in European elderly surgical patients is undertreated. Various triggers seem to support the decision for RBCT. A closer monitoring of elderly patients receiving intraoperative RBCT for the first 10 postoperative days might be justifiable. Further research on the causal relationship between RBCT and outcomes and on optimal transfusion strategies in the elderly population is warranted. A thorough analysis of different time periods within the first 30 postoperative days is recommended
